I need some advice
Hopefully someone out there can help me with a problem I have with Tuff. Whenever we ride with other horses & they start to canter, he thinks he's at the Kentucky Derby & has to be first. Whenever I try to slow him down, he "crow hops" and has thrown me once and I hurt my upper arm the 2nd time. I've talked with a trainer & he said to "just let him run & even to push him forward (making him run faster).....he said Tuff likes to run. Guess what, I bought him for a trail horse, not a race horse. Any suggestions as to how I can stop him from doing this? Any comments will be appreciated. Tuff's MomCome visit me, Tuff Bar Streke.

You might be wondering, why does Lady deserve Horse of The Month??
She is the very first horse I've ever owned!!
The day I got her I was so excited!! She was standing out side my bed room window, and as I was running out side to see my new horse...NOT WATCHING WHERE I WAS GOING....
I fell down the stairway!! LOL!! (I was not hurt)
That is probly one of the happiest day of my life, the day I got my horse, Lady Macho.
This coimg March 10th. 2010, we will be officially
together for 10 years!! wow!! 10 very happy years!!
We have been through so much together!! She was not what you call a beginners horse when I got her...But I did evenually learn to ride on this retired show champion,(who was never even ridden outside the arena). Lady being a older horse means there is alot of things I cant do with her, like showing and bareback riding..etc, but that doesnt mean I dont love her any less. I would love her even if she was unridable!! Also...she's going to be 28yr. April 27th!!
Through the past years, Lady has had FIVE near death experiences....she was in a trailer accident(2004)...she was very very under weight and not eating at all(2006)....her liver was failing(2007)...she got her head stuck in the stall frame(2008)...she fell down and could not get up(2009) (we had to call people to help her back on her feet)...all those times I truely though she was going to die, but the good Lord was with her the whole time.
Lady is now in the best shape ever, and is eating like a pig. Im hoping to have her for a good six more years, and who knows maybe she'll brake the world record for the oldest horse!! lol!! (I think its 56yr. idk..)
Lady is the best thing that has ever happened to me!! She has tought me so much, and she is such a loving horse. I would not trade her for a million dallors!!
It makes me cry because this girl (from my old school) use to make fun of me for keeping and riding such an old horse(her family owns like 25 YOUNG horses). And she would always brag about all the horse shows she has entered and won with her horses... knowing that I have always wanted to show but couldnt -_-
I know ALOT of people who dont like old horses....
I love my horse, now and forever. Even if she donest win HOTM, I will still love her (and HC, of course).
Everything I worte is 100% true.
This is why I think Lady deserves HOTM.

ok i have a question for you. im going to a show in September and i need to get a new saddle pad. and i want to know what color you think will be best on rosie. i dont have any samples to put on her, so youll just have to picture it in you mind.
