How We Met

Long make it short and sweet I found Charlie at a livestock auction and never got to bid on him, he was sold to a dealer...I believed this dealer to possibly be a kill buyer. I got a hold of the dealer by doing some research and we made a deal that night and he brought him to me the next morning! and he has been Mr. Perfect ever since then!.

He is very pretty.Have you been riding lately? How do you stay in an english saddle on trails? Is it no hills just flats? I rode an english saddle once. I didn't fall off but I didn't feel secure. I would like to try it again. Have you ever rode western? We voted.

That is a cute picture! And as a retired Standardbred owner myself, I totally agree with you on giving them a second chance. I lost my baby quite a few years ago, but he is a horse I will never forget! Here is a vote for your baby.

I just want to say that Charlie is one of the sweetest horses I have ever met. It's true what they say....when Standardbreds are done racing no one cares where they go. They are wonderful horses and are able to do almost anything. They are very laid back and have wonderful personalities. I just couldnt imagine Charlie being shipped to Canada for dog food. He and most of the others still have a lot of good years left. they have worked alot during their lives and they all deserve a break. SO if you or someone you know is looking for a horse I strongly suggest a retired race horse or even a rescue. At least check some rescues out before you make a choice to buy an expensive horse with no training behind them. Do some research.....

Come visit me, Charlie Elmer.
