Hey,
Srry I haven't been on in a while... like usual, tons of homework!!! :( I did get to go see Grey today!!! I also got to ride him!!! It is super windy out today so it wasn't so hot. We might be getting a hurricane soon. THE WHOLE STATE OF FLORIDA IS IN THE CONE OF CONCERN!!!! So cross your fingers that we don't get it. Usually after a hurricane our cable is out for a month after (which means NO INTERNET!!!!) Anyway, back to the riding story... it was a beautiful day, Grey is getting his winter coat back even though they cliped him a few weeks ago. He picked up a few short canters, and was feeling good!!! There are all of these beauty berries on the trail (completly harmless little purple berries) and we had a berry fight while we were riding it was so much fun!!! I went out with two other friens so it was amazing!!! The costumers were super nice too!!! They knew how to ride so we were able to do tons of trotting... at the end they also gave us a $5 tip each!!! :D Here's a vote... hope to be on again soon

Thanks so much for stopping by Prince's page and I'm glad you like him so much. He's a lot of fun to ride and we're working on the jumping. Muffin Man is very beautiful. I bet he's fun to ride.
I took Pippin and Melian (my dog) out for a walk again this evening and we timed it just right to see the full moon rising. It was so beautiful. A big bright orange moon with pale blue above it and some dark clouds, all shining through the ponderosa pines.
We had the most amazing day today. Believe it or not but it was in the 80s! I can hardly believe it myself. Yesterday was freezing and today was almost like summer. We are expecting rain tomorrow so everyone is happy about that.
Melian has had some issues with Tom, our big cat. He likes to stalk her and the other night he wouldn't let her outside. I put myself between them but every time that Melian tried to pass, Tom would come around me and face her. Finally I picked Melian up and put her on the end of the porch but Tom jumped off the porch and ran around to meet her. And then later when I wasn't looking he ran up to Melian and whacked her on the butt. Melian took off with incredible speed. Poor thing.

Wednesday vote ! Well, if we are not on for a day or two it is because of limited time due to wet weather and family ! Mom has been up since sunrise to put hay & straw all over the flooded and muddy areas of my fields! Especially the entrances and the hilly parts where the mud slides! Here it is either a dust bowl or a mud bowl, but in between it is so beautiful! Good Evening!!
Today I rode Navajo again...I decided to work mainly on making sure he knows what my different leg cues mean so that we can move on to more difficult things. Well He did really goo all except he didn't want to trot when I asked for it...He decided he is going to trot when he wants to trot...Well He found out that wasn't the smartest thing to do...He ended up doing more trotting whenever I told him to and not when he WANTED to. That is going to need some work but eventually he will get it..hehe. Then I decided to see if he knew how to move his forequarters when on him.. He didn't know what I was asking and kept moving his hindquarters...He was gettting frustrated I could tell...So we did some backing and other things...We trotted back and I got off and showed him how to move his forequarters from the ground...He still needs a LOT of work with that..He is not light at all in that area..So tomorrow instead of riding we are going to work on that.
Leg cues Navajo knows:
that when I press my calf against either of his sides it means over off of the leg. (am not sure if this one should also be used for the sidepass or not)
that when I press both heels against his side to go faster no matter the gait.
that when I press both calves against his side it means back up.
Leg cues he needs to learn:
that when I move my calf forward out of the home position it means to move his forehand over.
that when I move my calf back out of the home position it means to move his hindquarters.
Now I am trying to figure out a cue for the sidepass...oh I know...when I press either of my heels agains his side it means to sidepass in the that direction (0r off of my heel)..I think that should work.
I think this should work. It is going to need work but I think we will be able to achieve it!! Talk soon Ruth Ann N Navajo *4 December HOTM*

Petite Fleur loves to meet new friends and you are gorgeous! I love your story about being chosen from your neighbor's mare! So she had you and a filly! YES, Petite Fleur is a French bred horse with her origins from North America! Mom has been living in EUROPE for 10 years and she is an American citizen. So PF understands English, French and Swiss German cues!!! Mom misses the USA but she is here with here for now in the french alpe region and other places! Is Muffin wearing a coat for winter?
