Had some Sadie time today. We both need it everyday. It's getting hot here, so I didn't ride. I put the halter on her and walked her off the property. She was a little nervous, so we took it slow, stopping when she needed to to look around and see that she was okay. Neighborhood dogs were barking at us. She walked a little fast on the way back to the house. Had to keep stopping her to slow her down. She loved it. Going to walk her more often to get her use going off the property. Going to work up to riding her. Last time I rode her off the property, she was nervous and wanted to fight me. She should trust me more now. Hugs and a vote. Went out to check on Sadie when I got home from work last night. She'd torn her fly mask off. It lasted 10 days. Hope to someday move away from the egg ranch. The flies are horrible. Fancy & Trigger had their farrier trip this week. Great news, the farrier said Fancy's heel looks normal and you can't even tell it was wounded! We can begin riding when it is not so muddy in the corral. I am going to ride her for short periods of time before we ride out. I want to be sure both Fancy and I are ready when we ride out. And we can use this time to get ready for the horseshow this month. I want to try our first time at showmanship. ♥

Fancy is leaving this Good night vote :)
Because my oldest son is now on his return trip to Afghanistan, it was real sweet to see Cowboy smile when I showed him his HOTD yesterday. Again, THANKS! Oh, I finally got photos from his visit added to Fancy’s page.
It has certainly been a lovely Carolina day! After church we ate and headed out for the day. I took care of Fancy & Trigger. Since Fancy can not go out I went for a bike ride. Fancy became very upset as she watched us leave. I was afraid she was going to hurt herself trying to get out. She remembers our walks! That made me feel bad to leave her. Since we have more daylight now, Fancy will have her walks soon. We don’t have to ride. I love taking walks with her. But there is no way I can handle Fancy and my bike at the same time.
I look forward to reading about your weekend. Do you have any fresh new horsey plans since the days are longer and the sun is shining stronger?

It has been impossible for me to blog & vote this week since both my daughter has been moving into her apartment and we've been packing & cleaning all week, plus Comet is moving tomorrow to the new stable and I packed all his stuff into the trailer today! I watched a John Wayne movie called Stagecoach, and one of the lead teams names were Sweetheart and Bridesmaid, and I really liked the name .So I decided when I got a team I would name them that. That was the reasoning behind their names.voted :) :)Come visit me, Sweetheart, Bridesmaid & Sly.

I wish I could be progressing with the rope halter but its so icy I'm afraid to even ask her to move away from the relative safety of the round bale. A Saturday vote for you!
I had such a nice day Friday. It took me 3 hours to curry and brush out all 3 horses then our farrier came and everyone had their hooves taken care of. Deacon is the only one that gets shoes. Whiskey & Rocket have always gone barefoot their whole lives. I personally think Rocket needs shoes but Cliff doesn’t so it’s his horse and I have to respect what he wants that way. I did not ride I didn’t have time after all that! Hopefully soon I can!
We are getting really cold for about a week so Cliff is putting on the horses blankets! I love it when I'm working and he has to get out there and mess with the horses... I hope he finds it as pleasurable as I do!!! This cold snap will be different then the last few we had so that is why the blankets are being used...

I still have not been able to ride …wet and cold. I do not have an arena or an indoor one!!! I have to haul out to Lake Whitney when it is wet and it is 30 minutes away so after work there is not enough time before dark. Once it dries up some I can ride around my home again. Otherwise I plan to haul out Caturday & Sunday. I can hardly wait.
I hope the New Year is starting out nice for everyone!!!!

Good Morning to all my HC friends! ♥
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas I sure did! Nothing like family and friends at this time of year.
It was so very cold the last few days. It rained most of the morning yesterday. The horses get to running around and playing, bucking and tearing out everywhere. It scares me sometimes because it rained and I think they will slip but haven’t yet. Cliff won’t even watch thinking they may fall-lol.
