Type of Riding: If she ever were to be ridden, she would probably be dressage (what I ride) or english pleasure if my aunt or uncle ever get into riding
My Horse's Achievements: We are currently doing Ponyboy & Annie is now starting to conquer her fears of being out in the pasture & trails. Now she'll even jump the creek!
My Horse's Favorite Treat: Literally anything, but she adores likits, carrots, red apples, peppermints & sugar cubes the most. Paddock cakes are always a favorite too(:
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Eat treats dantily (she eats apples all the way around with dainty bites & grinds her carrots!)Run, and flirt with all the geldings.
Pet Peeves: People messing with her ears or nose (shes ticklish)Water, mud, and branches on trees. Apparently branches are evil and will eat her if she walks under them.

How We Met
Annie was bought by my family from my old riding coach. Sadly, when she retired we had no one to help us train her, and we couldnt afford to send her somewhere to be traiend because my dad was laid off from his job. Luckily, my aunt and uncle offered to buy her and she is now a family "pet" horse since my aunt and uncle arent "horse experienced" and my dad only sold her to them so she would stay in the family, but with Tickett and school and band, I dont have time to work with her anymore, and my aunt and uncle have no interest in her anymore since they realized you actually have to put in work & effort to own a horse.
Update- 2/26/12
Annie is now sadly for sale, since my aunt and uncle didnt realize how much work and money a horse would be, and since with band and school and Tickett and college visits and stuff coming up I dont have time to work her for them, and they cant even work with her if they wanted to since they dont have enough experience to handle an untrained, unbroke 3 year old. So now I am in charge of finding her a home. She has wonderful bloodlines, and although she is just below 14.3 hands, she would be an excellent dressage or endurance horse. She moves like a wonderful dressage potential, and she constantly gallops in the pastures nonstop, and when I work her she can literally run for hours. She would need an experienced horse person whos somewhat on the smaller side, but she is extremely smart, and with the right person with gentle hands and time to take her on as a project, my coach says she can go far in showing! She also has potential to be a great broodmare due to her bloodlines (i'll post them asap!). Its heartbreaking that we have to let her go, but im terrified if I cant find her a home before this summer they might just send her off to auction or something. She will be up on several sale websites soon, but please spread the word and let me know if you are interested!.

Sadie's definitely the alpha mare. A gelding would be great, just can't afford another horse anytime in the near future. She's a smart one, too. Austin went out to the corral Saturday, just in time to see her unhitch the gate. Been wondering how she's been getting out. Hugs and a Monday vote. Another hi. I'm not sure why Lisa is afraid of Sadie. Maybe it's her size and the fact that she's so stubborn with new people. A new rider gets tested. She'll just stand there. Doesn't matter what you do, you've got to make her go. She has an attitude, too. If you want a fight, you'll get it. Austin and I have good rides. Not at first, tho'. She tested us. When she realized we 're not going to give up, she started behaving herself. Still get some attitude, but she kinda likes us now. She should. I feed her good, and she gets lots of carrots and love. The kids came back over Monday. Sadie was so good. 2 of the kids didn't ride, but the 2 yr old was excited to. Her mom said she'd been saying all morning she was going to ride the horse....My friend, Jessica, is suppose to come over today to ride Sadie. It's been about year since her last visit. Her little braids have made it through the light rains. We are expecting heavy rain tonight and Wednesday. This is our first time leaving the braids in for several days. Do you leave your horses mane braided through the winter? If so, how did they hold up?

I've been super busy lately. I still have to finish packing for our show on Tuesday. We're leaving Monday and hoping that they'll let us get our horses use to the arena before the show.
Along with preparing for the show I have to practice on my artwork. I took art for a whole year next year and I need to get back in touch with my creative side. I haven't really drawn anything for a whole year!

Today was a nice one. Austin and I let the horses out of the corral and chased them around the property for exercise. That worked out for them and us. Lightning holds that head up as his powerful legs work to catch up with Sadie who has that tail curled as she stampedes across the back of the property. She kicks and bucks and has a great time as Star brings up the rear....Austin put Lightning in the corral before we saddled Sadie. He threw a fit wanting out. It'dbeen 2 weeks since I'd ridden her and I figured I'd be thrown over the house. Sadie fought the bit a little and didn't care to be saddled, but she stood still as I mounted. Big accomplishment! Star followed us around. Not the best idea 'cuz she kept nipping at sadie. I smacked her on her mouth a couple of times and told her no. Sadie was so good. Running her before riding her worked great. No attitude and better behaved.... Predicting snow for Phoenix Thursday. I hope not. Hope you all have amazing rides this week. Hugs and a vote. A quick hi to all. Lightning and the girls celebrated Christmas on Friday. I let them out of the corral and allowed them to eat what hay they wanted, and Austin chased them around the property. They loved it. Sadie curls her tail in a circle when she runs. Lightning seems to feel pretty good. He was running and playing, too. He even felt well enough to butt heads with Rick over the hay, of course. I want to grab the tumor and rip the horrible thing off of his face but would never dare. I hate knowing that's what's going to eventually take him from me, and I'm powerless to stop it. Enjoying him while I can. Love and a Sunday vote.
