Had a great horsey day Wednesday. Sadie was so amazing. Now that Austin's riding, too, I have to share her. I had a short ride then handed her over. I'm so happy he's riding. Says it's fun. As long as Sadie's a good girl, he'll keep it up. She has her off days tho'. She's young, so I know to expect them. I love to play chase with her. We take turns running after each other. I love it. It seems like everyday I slowly get worse. Now along with my daily pains and problems, I have something wrong with my intestines and appendix. It is sooo painful I can barely breathe. My right side hurts really bad all the time. Im also really hungry! I dont want to eat anthing as it hurts horrificly when it digests :( Once again, my doctors dont know whats causing this. But, they do know its neurological and its most likely related to my other problems. My doctor looked me in the eyes yesterday and said 'I am really sorry Casey, but i dont know what else to do for you. I cant figure this out, none of us can. Im really sorry." talk about a bad day!! But, one of my friends is having the same exact problems as me..but she lives in pennsylvania. AND the wierdest part is that she also got the Garadsil shot...coincidence? So after i told my dr about that, the look on her face was PRICELESS. I dont know why, but it seems like doctors just dont want to admit that these kinds of problems can come from shots. Sadly, we think thats whats causing my pains & problems. There isnt anything that can be done. I am one several different pain medications. They seem to be helping, but i always have some new problem that cant be 'cured' with the meds. I am still in pain of every moment of every single day. Im starting to go crazy!! Today is day 59 of constant pain. A lot has happened in the past 59 days...i have learned who my true friends are. It is sooo hard to learn at school. I just cant focus. No matter what kind of pain meds I take, there's always a little bit of pain that I cant get rid of. Last night i woke up 9 times in 8 hours. Im tired all the time. well i hope you had a great day!!

I'm doing much better. The first 3 days were so hard. I'm spending more time with Sadie and Star. It does help. I'm so surprised that Star is doing so well. She stays by Sadie.... I had a nice ride on Sadie Monday. She took the bit without giving me trouble. She had some pep in her step. I let Star out of the corral, and she followed every step of the way. I'm training Sadie to neck rein, and she's doing great....Jessica rode today. Lazy Miss Sadie had more pep in her step and trotted alot. Jessica had her at a run, too. Sadie's doing so good. I'm so proud of her. She's filling out and gets prettier by the day....After Jessica's ride, We went to Mark's house. She loved Red, the thoughobred that's still at Mark's. He showed her the saddle he bought off the set of the movie "Tombstone". We then went to Cracker Barrel for my early bday dinner. Austin treated me. Hugs and a vote. Miniature Blood
Today's mini fact will be a concise history of the breed, or rather type. The American Miniature Horse as we know it today descended from numerous breeds of horse and pony. The largest contribution to its bloodlines came from the pit ponies that were widely used in coal mines, many of whom were Shetlands. The Argentinian Falabella also played a large role in their development and refinement and contributed the loud and splashy colours that are not found in the Shetland.
Arabians and other fine boned horses were bred down and helped refine the pony shape of the minature into the horse shape that is expected and required today. The breed standard requires a miniature horse to be 34 inches or less and must have the same conformation as its larger counterpart. In other words, it should look like a perfect tiny replica of a well formed large horse.
Without going into detail for all of the particular standards of perfection I will highlight one and that is it must have even bite. Perhaps this is not what they had in mind but I can attest to the fact that Pippin has a very nice even bite. I've had a few bruises as proof and today's video will be a prime example!

Hey! Blossom is at Hidden K as of Monday. She was very suspicious as I led her into the trailer. She hasn't been trailered in a year. She jumped off the trailer like it was on fire! She was excited to find that there were lots of horses. She whinied and whinied very loudly, especially when she did it when I was right beside her! She was soon comfortable and made freinds with Lucky. I felt kinda awkward since everyone else was riding and I was there in jeans and tennis shoes leading Blossom in circles behind the barn. I missed her ALOT when I got home. But I am doing a super barn clean-up. It's stuff I could'nt have easily done if Blossom were here like taking the mats out of her stall and letting the floor air out. I went to the stable again today, but rode this time. I had a hard time tacking her up. I held her rope and tried to work in the aisle. But she was great and the weather was perfect for riding in the outdoor arena. The only thing that bothered her was the horses in the pasture and having to stay on the rail. She also got turned out in a paddock with Miss Scarlett and Cresent.
