How We Met

After beginning riding lessons we decided to relocate to have more land and allow us to have horses at home. I first met Penny before we found our new home and she was a very rude and bit my husbands foot! We thought this is NOT the one and continued to look. After moving into our new home we came across her again and she was the perfect angel and I decided to purchase her. It wasn't for e few months after that that I fell in love with her and have found her to be the most trusted partner. My horse rocks!.

Finally, a vote from FANCY!!!!!!!
Hello HC friends and family!!!!! Fancy and I are really missing our time here. Mom is making small improvements each day! This is wonderful because she was sooo very ill.
Thanks for visiting and voting for my Fancy. I will read and return each of my blogs, but it will take a while because I stay with Mom each day while my brothers are working. Your prayers have helped so much!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fancy is missing our times now also. When she sees me she dances and prances and whinnies so loudly. One day I was going out to visit with her and I took a detour to speak with my neighbor. Fancy kept her eye on me as she performed such lovely leaps into the air and called out to me. When I headed back towards her she showed such happiness, it just made my heart melt.
My brother is very excited because he has a new four year old bay stallion:) I hope to add a photo of him soon. I have not had time to visit with my camera.

This is an icy vote from Fancy. Tuesday morning when I went out to feed Fancy, she started running around and I could hear her every foot fall on the ice. It was like music to my ears, she was so spirited!
I finally got to visit Mom today at the hospital, she is gaining strength and she hates the food there. Again, Thanks for all your Love and Prayers.

A 'winter storm is here in NC' vote from Fancy!
We are having snow today and expecting sleet on top of that tonight. How is the weather at your house?
I had a time grooming Fancy Sunday evening, she was so dirty with dry mudd, but we both enjoyed it:) No school today! A vote from Fancy;) I have missed keeping up with you. How are things going? Any riding, snowing at your house? I hope all is well in your home.
Today was a very good day. A few days ago, the docs began more frequent wound care for my mom. It will take time but, my mom has finally began to heal. Then later on in the evening, Fancy finally got some time with me and she seemed so content (and so did I).

A good Saturday morning vote from Fancy. I had better hurry, I have to leave in a few hours.

This fairy tale starts with Once upon a Fancy...
There was a little filly born to live wild with her mommy in the Virginia fields. One day a sad & horseless lady slid into the driveway with a trailer in tow, almost missed the driveway. (LOL)
That lady was amazed by this fuzzy filly and took her home right away. The lady cared for the filly and nourished her with love. They become partners for life.
One day the lady found HorseChannel.com and she was very curious. After a few days passed she joined HC! WOW! What a wonderful internet site filled with the greatest horse loving people she would ever have the pleasure of meeting! Now that little filly, FANCY and that lady have the greatest horsey friends ever, and they are very happy members of HorseChannel. com!!!!!!!!!

voted:) I am sorry I am not able to blog and vote like I want to right now. I will be back online full time soon as my Mom comes home and is able to do things again. I am at home this evening, I won't be back at the hospital tonight. My Mom is holding the same. I am so thankful for your prayers for her.
My poor Fancy is also stressed for time. I went out to worm her and she was so sweet. She took her wormer like a big girl and I petted her a little. When I was leaving I left the end of my lead rope on the ground inside of the gate. Fancy walked over to the lead rope and stood on the end of it and looked at me. I tell you this little filly was trying to tell me something. I had to explain to her why I had not been with her much lately. Then I asked her to step off the lead rope so I could go in and cook food for our human family. Fancy understood me, just like I understand her. She stepped off the rope and let me give her a good night pat, then she watched until I went inside.

Here is another Christmasy vote from Fancy. We are freezing here. Fancy is the only one here that is warm and running around playing. When Fancy opens here mouth she looks like she is smoking.

There was a great episode of America By Horseback on this week! The group, accompanied by the mounted marines on wild mustangs, retraced President Lincoln's horseback ride from his cottage home to the White House. It was a very interesting show as they shared some great historical facts. I am not sure if you can find it online, but it would be worth looking up.

I rode Sadie Monday. She really fights us when we put the bridle on. She hates the bit. I need to train her using a hackamore. Next spring.... She did so good. Lightning and Star were out of the corral, too. Star walked with us and I was petting her on top of her head. At one time, we had a horsey parade with Lightning bringing up the rear. He ran past us a couple of times spooking Star who ended up in front of us, and we ran into her. No injuries. While I rode, Lightning and Rick butted heads over him getting into the hay. Rick rode next. Lightning's such a funny character. What a sense of humor! He started paying Rick back by running past him and Sadie, stopping a little bit in front of them and waiting for them to go by and then running past them, again. Rick started turning in a different direction telling Lightning he wasn't going to go by him, anymore. Lighting turned and followed them then ran past, stopping just in front of them bowing his neck, shaking his head and dancing in place. It was so funny.... Cowboy Doug then rode Sadie. He had the biggest smile I think I've ever seen. Then his sister rode. She had a big smile and kept yippeeing over and over. David's suppose to come over today. Jessica may, too. We're suppose to ride Sadie and possibly Lightning, too. I hope so. If Doug rides, I'll take a picture of him. Love and a vote from Joyce, Lightning, Sadie and Star.

Fancy and Frances are stopping by with a last vote for November 2010! It has a been a wonderful month for my girl Fancy. I know from trying to train Fancy myself that today's Fancy's Perception is so true and in itself, a real mouth full. We all seem to share a special love for our horses. Hi Sherri and Penny!
I called the guy and asked about the horse. It's a 2 yr old black Mustang mix gelding that's never been rode. He's huge and has to have a high corral or he'll jump it. No Thanks. Too old for severe injury and too scared to even think about it. I told Mark and he found someone who's interested.... David couldn't make it over. I had to wait until Rick got home to ride. We went to a neighbor's house about 1/3 of a mile from us. Rick walked next to me, because we weren't sure how she'd act. Star threw a fit, because we left her in the corral with Lightning. Sadie walked so slow. She did okay until we got to the neighbor's house. They have a couple of cows and a couple of goats who started to moo and call to us. Sadie got so spooked. Rick had to walk her past the house with me on her. When we started back, I got off and Rick rode her back. Rick had to keep slowing her down to a walk, because she was in a hurry to go home. I gave her 2 carrots for being a good girl. I'm anxious to ride, again. Austin didn't ride but still plans to. I told him it was up to him. Lightning might be best for him.... Good Morning HC friends! Fancy and I are leaving a thankful vote for being part of something so wonderful")
Lady Jane(#189648) told me she says a little prayer for Petite Fleur'S(#107376) medical condition, when she votes for her. Lady Jane suggested that if we all join her with a little prayer when we leave a vote, it would make all the difference.
I do believe in the power of prayer! And it being Thanksgiving holiday, What better time to ask for a special prayer for each other. Let's make this a special occasion for prayer. Let us join in together and say a prayer for each friend and member we vote for or just a prayer for the whole HC club and all of it's members. No need to be stingy with a good prayer!!!
We have friends that are traveling, friends with loved family members facing surgery, some of our horses are facing health problems(and you know all these things worry us greatly!) We have a need for the Thanksgiving prayer:) I hope this isn't asking too much of you, only takes a few seconds, unless you choose otherwise:)

Fancy, and Frances are leaving an Autumn vote! Hey it's chilly this morning!!!!!!!

I hope your weekend was very nice. NC weather was lovely this weekend! I rode Fancy Sunday too. I learned to ask her for leg yields in an open space (like an empty parking lot or vacant lot) to give her time to get it right. This way when she goes the wrong way, I don't have to worry about getting into something we shouldn't be in. And I can offer her the patience that she is accustomed to. I think her being so hyper to go out and the stimulus of outside events makes it hard for her to concentrate the way she does in the corral. She was a lot better on Sunday than she was Saturday and we had a nice relaxed ride. Which was wonderful!!!

Fancy and Frances are leaving a quick Sunday Evening vote. Saturday afternoon we practiced some directing of the feet with me in the saddle. She was ok in the back yard. When we went out, she went relaxed but not slow. Which is the way she likes to walk. But when I asked her to do leg yields in the street, she didn't want to do them. We had to do lots of moving the feet. Fancy just wanted to go straight around the block, which we did. But she must to learn to be consistent with answering my direction, even if she wants to go around the block. This was our worst time doing leg yields. I expect her to improve now. We always have a worst day at new lessons and then she gets better.

Fancy is leaving a 'Have a Happy Friday Night Vote'!!! Lovely NC Autumn days! I rode Fancy a little today. She was good on the leg yields in the yard today. When we went out she wanted to head straight out and go, go, go. I have remembered to halt and back when she isn't listening. This worked very well today with my speedy one. When she began to relax and walk calmly we had some fun. Her relaxed calm walk is a bit speedy, but I know from the videos she is doing a fine job for me.
Have a blessed and nice weekend with your best equine buddy ever. Is this good camping weather? Is anyone taking their equines camping this weekend?

Our Veteran's Day parade was a short one, but it was very nice.

Thank every member that answered a call to duty on the two occasions of showing some equine love and friendship. I hope and I believe our support has helped those families in a hard time. You guys are the ultimate greatest!!! Much love to HorseChannel Friends♥
