About bucking... You usually will have warning that your horse is about to buck, as she hunches up some and will lower her head (that and intuition after awhile!). If you can learn to anticipate her, keep her head up and she won't be able to buck. I usually keep my reins with steady contact, using both hands to keep my horses head at wither height, while at the same time asking for forward motion (just encouraging consistently with your legs). It is physically impossible for a horse to buck while their head is up and their legs are moving forward. It may take a few tries to get the hang of it, because you're not trying to yank on her mouth or kick her, you're just trying to literally "hold" her head where it is, and push her forward with your legs. As SOON as she relaxes and you know she's not thinking of bucking, release your aids! It's her reward for being a good girl :) *Come visit me, Dream Storm Zaba.

Thanks for the comment :) I can see why you would be worried about having another horse with Annie looking after you...but then again, why would you even want another horse!?! What a doll she is, and I certainly don't blame her for her unique "attitude" given everything that's happened to her. I bet you two make an awesome team :) Have fun!! *Come visit me, Dream Storm Zaba.

stop bucking U asked me how to make your horse stop bucking...we have done this with several horses and it really works! Tie a rope (use one that won't burn the horse..a waxed lariat works best) and tie it tight around the horse's girth area. Let the horse loose in a round pen or on a lunge line in an arena, small paddock, ect. and usually the horse will buck when let loose. Just wait until the horse stops bucking and undo the rope. Hope this helps!!Come visit me, Snowball.
