Hi! Thanks for the vote. Left you one for today. Hope all is well, and here is your Paint horse fact for today.

The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) is a breed registry for the American Paint Horse. It is currently headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. It was founded in 1965 with the merging of two different color breed registries that had been formed to register pinto-colored horses of Quarter Horse bloodlines. One of these organizations was the American Paint Quarter Horse Association (or APQHA) and the other was the American Paint Stock Horse Association (or APSHA). The APQHA was formed in 1961 in Abilene, Texas, mainly to register cropout horses from the matings of registered Quarter Horses. They also allowed the registering of non-cropouts ("solids") who had Quarter Horse conformation and bloodlines. The APSHA was formed in February of 1962. The APSHA registration rules differed from APQHA in that they excluded "gaited" horses and mandated that horses that were mainly dark colored must have a minimum of three white spots three inches wide on their body, and that mostly white horses must have a dark spot at least six inches wide on their body. Both registries agreed to merge in 1965, although the APHA calls the APSHA its forerunner.

To be Continued....

Have a great day; THANKS PIPPIN FOR VOTE #4000!! And to all who got her to that point! I love you ALL!

Hi! Here is your daily to thank you for your vote for Hollywood. TOday was a GREAT day for me. Tomorrow, my mom said we will call the owner of Quincy and see how he is doing. Boy oh boy, Quincy is my big baby, and I will never let him go! Anyways, how was your day? How is the weather? It is sunny and warm but more cold...ish. Well, gotta run! Talk soon:) ALSO; I wanted to imform everyone that I am very happy that my friend Joey/Betsy the mule is back online! Have a great day:) Erin

It's important to note that while a Paint Horse may register itself as a Pinto, a Pinto may not register as a Paint Horse unless it meets the breed's strict bloodline requirements. The American Paint Horse owes its heritage to the narrow-sighted Quarter Horse Association. It excluded those horses that had a pinto pattern and horses that were born with white spots that were located above the hocks and knees. Because of its large fan base, enthusiasts of these colorful stock horses formed a vast array of organizations to preserve and promote the paint horse. In 1965, these groups merged into the American Paint Horse Association. Though a popular show horse, the American Paint Horse of today has a willing attitude for work that makes it equally pleasurable at the ranch, rodeo, trail, or racetrack.

Hi! Thanks for the vote! You know what? I think I may have enough horse facts to fill the rest of the month! I just have to break them down! YES! Anyways, thank you for your generous vote for Hollywood. It really really extremly means a lot. Here is your vote in return:) Have a great day♥

As one of the fastest growing breeds in North America, the American Paint Horse is rapidly making its mark on the equine community. They are a relatively new breed that is based on conformation, bloodline, and color. To be registered, a horse's ancestry must come from a registered Paint Horse, American Quarter Horse, or a Thoroughbred – though one of the two parents must be a Paint Horse. In addition to this, the horse must meet certain color standards. There are four major patterns; tobiano, overo, sabino, and tovero. Tobiano patterning is the most common and is characterized by white legs, rounded markings, and white over the back between the dock of the tail and the withers. Overo is a spotting pattern that has irregular and sharp markings. These marking are often more dark than white. The overo patterning may be accompanied by blue eyes and a white face. The tovero pattern is a mixture of tobiano and overo patterning, and the sabino is a slight spotting with white high on the legs and belly.

Thank You!
Hi! Thanks for your awesome vote for Hollywood. Today is my sister's 18th birthday. We are getting her a new new camera. Hope your day is going great.

American paint horses are descendants of spotted quarter horses and thoroughbreds. Paint is the Spanish word for pintado. Their height can reach 16 hands. The American paint horse has colors ranging from white with mixes of brown, black, and bay. Other colors included gray, dun, chestnut, sorrel and palomino. Making this breed of horse gorgeous. The paint horse is a versatile breed. Used for showing, cattle round up due to their speeds of up to 55 miles per hour. Paints are also used for barrel racing in rodeos as well as calf and team roping. Paints make wonderful trail riding horses.

Hi! Thanks for your wonderful, amazing, awesome, stunning, beautiful, and generous vote for Hollywood:) So, since I have only a limit of Paint facts, I will just go to another horse breed. You have a chose of: Quarter Horse; Arabian; Thoroughbreds; or Tennessee Walking Horse. You can chose. And if there is more that one vote for the listed breeds, that the one I will do for the rest of the month. Gotta run, see you tomorrow!

~The Background Color~~
Background color makes a difference. As noted above, the alleles for spots occasionally throw so little white that you can only register your foal as breeding stock. However, sorrels consistently have offspring with a greater area of white than do bays, and bays have more white than blacks.

Hello! Thank you for your awesome votes:) I don't have much more facts to give you all so, I guess I will have to do just horse quotes....Sorry. We just have 2 more days of horse facts. Anyways, how was your day? Hope all is well♥ Erin & H.D.D

~~The Combination Patterns~~
Paints and Pintos can carry several of these alleles at once. This makes it more likely that their offspring will be spotted. A tovero (tobiano plus any of the overo alleles), if bred to a solid color horse, will give at least 75% spotted foals. A Paint or Pinto that is almost solid white also usually carries two or more color alleles, and can give 75% or more spotted foals.

Hi! Thank you all so much for your amazing votes! Sorry for this C/P, sending silent votes for everyones herd. How was your day? What have you and your horse(s) being doing together? Anyways, today is one big cloud of rain. I do really love the rain and the smell of it. It makes me happy:) Also, when is your horses birthday? I got some people's birthday, so if I or Danya and Koot already ask you, please just skip this. But for some of you I am doing a birthday list to celebrate and a HOTM Calendar. So I need everyones horses birthdays. And I am going to add them is with all the HOTMs runners if your special day is here. Thank you! Here is a little more about Paints and PINTOS! YAY!

Your Welcome!
Hi! How was your day? Mine was great, because of YOU! Thank you for your wonderful votes! It really really really really means a whole lot to me:) I love you all so much, and I didn't know how much fun racing for HOTM IS! Hope life is good to you! Here is a little more about Paint horse colors.

~~The Sabino~~
The remaining overos are classified as sabino. Scientists suspect that sabino may be a mixture of superficially similar patterns carried by several alleles of perhaps more than one gene. Sabino is a dominant trait. A sabino can produce healthy solid white foals. Other possibilities include white with speckles, Medicine Hat (dark ears and the rest of the body almost entirely white), vertical streaks and bands, or a pattern that is almost the same as frame. Areas of roan are common. There is no test for homozygosity. Even nearly solid white sabinos can occasionally produce foals that can be registered only as "breeding stock."

You'll Have My VOTE for HOTD Anytime:)
Hello! Thank you for your vote! Tonight I will ask my dad to get my pictures on my new computer so I can update everything. Sorry its taking this long. Anyways, this weekend was about 83 degrees, bright, and sunny. And still is! How is yours? Hope its making you happy! Here is today's horse FACT:

~~~Paint or Pinto?~~~
The terms "paint" and "pinto" are sometimes both used to describe spotted horses, but in modern use there is a clear difference between the two terms. A pinto differs from a Paint solely due to bloodlines. A pinto may be of any breed or combination of breeds, though some Pinto registries may have additional restrictions. (Some do not register draft horses or mules, for example.) For a horse to be registered as an American Paint Horse however, it must have registered American Quarter Horse, American Paint Horse, or Thoroughbred parents. Therefore, all Paint horses (except for the small number of "solids" allowed into the Paint registry) could be registered as pintos, but not all pintos qualify to be registered as Paints.
Have a great day, and thanks again for your amazing support:) Erin 'N Hollywood
Because tonight we are going over to a friends house to have some dinner. Then we will come back and shoot some fireworks with our neibors. My best neibors/friend every 4th of July almost gets hit with a firework. It just SHOOTS right at her and she tries to miss it. July is our month of fun time, where we go a lot. Although I don't think we will be going very much this year because it is NOW pouring down rain:( AND I probably WILL be able to vote on the 4th of July, since its a Sunday, and Sunday's are relaxing time my dad says!
