So, Rosie's pen is finally clean (for now)!!! After that, I gave Passion a bath, which was a little difficult because he kept moving. Then I prettied him up (combed his mane, oiled his hooves), then spoiled him with treats, and let him go. He followed me around, so I couldn't help but give him more treats :) Then I looked for his purple fly veil, which I still can't find Rachel, Easthampton, MA.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR HOTD!

Last summer, Passion had a slight founder, but as the weeks went by, that small problem turned into an abscess which lasted over 8 months (and the summer before he foundered too), so Passion healed in the beginning of May 2011. That means he hadn't cantered in over two years. I was the one to canter him after all that time! Anyways, so yesterday, my instructor had me doing a course, and part of it was cantering. This was only our 5th time cantering in 2 years, and he did fabulous!!!!!!

PLEASE READ AND COMMENT ON THIS!!!!
Hello horse people, horses, boys, girls. I am writing a book about a cute 13 year old boy named Christopher Guber. His best friend is Frances. Yes she is a girl. Christopher goes riding with Frances. Frances rides Fancy while he rides Tirnanog. Tirnanog get's spooked by a passing train and runs into a barbwire fence. Christopher passes out. When he wakes up, he is the last man on earth. "The Last Man on Earth" is the title of my book. The rest is just the adventures he has while being the only person on Earth. He enjoys it, until he misses his friends and he even begins to miss his enemy, Cheyenne. And I'm not sure if I should end it with him thinking, "Oh well maybe being the last man on Earth won't be so bad," or if he should wake up in the hospital and it was just all a dream. What do you think? AND YES EVERY PAGE I POST THIS ON IS GETTING A VOTE!!

SORRY THIS IS ON EVERY PAGE...I took Lightning's fly mask off and his face is better. The hole from the tumor coming off is about half the size it was. The bump's about the same. I put his red halter on to clean it off and used iodine on it. He didn't like that. Probably burns. I then let him out of the corral for some Lightning time. He followed me around like a puppy. I'd start loving on him and he'd turn that big butt around to me to scratch it. Talk about spoiled. He followed me up to the house a couple of times and would then turn around and run back to and around the corral. He's feeling good. So gorgeous. I'm so blessed to have him. I put him back in the corral and Rick came home soon after. He just spent 6 days with his Mom on vacation in Show Low. His Mom and sister went in half and half on vacation property with a house on it. He was helping his brother in law do some work. Don't know when I'll get to go. Not only is it hot and humid here, the mosquitos are horrible. Star and Lightning are being eaten up. Their fly spray is out, too. Star almost crushed me out of desperation. I was inside the corral in the corner putting iodine on Lightning's bump and she came over, turned sideways and starting leaning into me. I held her at arms length and kept telling her no. She had me up against the railing of the corral. I somehow scooted sideways and got out of the way. She wouldn't purposely hurt me, but the mosquitos were driving her crazy. Out of desperation, I got a can of Raid and misted around them. I actually misted a couple of light shots at their backs and legs. I hope they'll be okay. I can't stand to see them suffer like that. I hope Mark's mare and mule are okay. If these guys are getting bit, I know they are, too. Sending Rick to pick up spray today. Sorry to put this on every page. Lightning hugs and a vote. The 2 new pictures on the bottom of Lightning's are of Brutus. The doghouse is air conditioned, and he was enjoying it. I found Brutus last July. Someone had thrown him out. I took him to the Vet and was told he's a chow mix. Every now and then, he snaps at me. I figure he was abused. Got to take him in a couple of weeks to get his rabies shot. Will probably get bit. i was reading about a horse i'm going to tell you about, to break up the monotony of reporting on my daily ride. :)
this horse was sired by a thoroughbred out of an irish sport horse (half thor). his barn name is "tailor." he was brought to the USA as a prospect for an elite american rider. he was bold over the cross country jumps, but sloppy and clumsy over stadium jumps in the arena. his first year out, he was a run away at rolex on the CC! not a very good start to his career! but his trainer and rider were not going to give up easily on this very talented equine athlete. hehe. we should never give up on our horses either! more to come tomorrow.

Lightning and Star are modeling their new fly masks. Star seemed happy to have it put on her. Lightning has a place under the hole that bleeds. It itches which means it's healing. When I changed his bandage last night, he rubbed blood on my arm. He's good about letting me change it. Guess he knows he doesn't have a choice. hugs and a Thursday vote. Also for anyone who was wondering how i did on my science exam i felt like i would fail.... I got an 88 B!!!!!!!! SO HAPPY! :)
Also in school i'm none for not talking to anyone except close friends(im more shy at school) so i won a 6th grade sapurlative award for most quiet! I never thought i'd win an award for that! Well I have had a great day!
