I couldn't believe I got to ride. It was wet but I got to ride. Ever since we got Boots, Beauty and Boots are no farther then 3 feet apart. Well since Boots is still limping, my dad took Stormy. So about half way down the road, Beauty wouldnt go any father because she heard Boots and Boots wasn't there. So I had a hard time getting her to go, I just cant wait to see what happens when we do take Boots. :)

Had Saddle Club today (Saddle Club is were all of my instructors students get together and ride horses who are not there own) anyway I got to ride this beautiful little Frisian mare and a big quarter horse gelding. It was a lot of fun but I miss Sprocket

Well it's raining here, so no ride. Boots is doing a little better. The other horses are finally letting her get closer to the barn, almost in the barn.

HI,
yesterday when my dad came home he said, "Purl is sold!" And I was like what? "Yes, Purl is being traded for a different horse" he said. So yes, we are going to look at this other horse Sunday, and we will trade if we want her. It's a Chestnut. So I can't wait until we get to ride/see this other horse. But I am kinda sad that I wont see Purl anymore. But she was mean. So what kind of names would sound good if we get this horse? (most likely will) Here's a vote

here's what it's like riding in the sun belt of south texas. (i wouldn't be riding except that i have the playday series with buttercup and am training for an october cross country course with sing)......feels like i have a heating pad set on low and, depending on the direction i'm riding, it's on my back or my arm. feels like if i did a "trust fall" and fell backwards, there's cotton batting surrounding me and i'd be falling slowly through it. hehe. the heat and humidity is like a creature surrounding me. how's your weather up in KS? Goldie & Moses are leaving you a vote : ) I had to back down Goldie's goal to 1,110 votes! Come on, guys : ) Please vote for Goldie this weekend! She really deserves this HOTM win. She's an amazing horse-not to brag, of course.
A few days ago, I decided to increase Goldie's grain a little to make sure she's getting enough nutrition. I gave her an extra handful of grain in her breakfast and went to catch her from the pasture later that day. She saw me coming and bolted to the barn in the paddock! She blew through her nostrils and cantered back to the pasture, then back to the barn, and stopped and looked at me. I called her and she trotted by me with her neck arched and tail raised. She trotted a circle around me, then stopped and started to graze. I crouched down and waited for her to come to me. When she finally came, she sniffed my hair with such enthusiasm you would have thought I had carrots in my hair! I decided this behavior must have been caused by that extra handful of grain, because I gave her her normal ration that night and the next day and she was fine. We are switching over to Purina Equine Senior because it has less carbs and sugars, so it won't give her extra energy.
Mia, today's HOTD, needs to find someone who will transport her from WV to LA, to her owner, or she will have to be sold. Her owner cannot travel because she has a baby, and she has not found anyone who can. So if you or someone you know can help her, let her know in a blog on her page. I'm sure she'd be very grateful...she seems to really love Mia. We all know how hard it is to have to give up a horse we love.
I don't think I'll be on HC any more this weekend because we're going to a show.
