Wow. Sadie looks like Diezel...Since I don't have to get up early I leaving quick votes. I posted a picture of Austin on Lightning. It was his first time on a horse, and he was on the best! i rode sing and i'm working on building up her wind. trying to canter for 4-5 minutes. it's hard and we're both sweaty and tired after. we need to be able to do that to jump over a cross country course. Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

TODAY'S PROFILE PIC WAS TAKEN NOV. 4TH, 2009. BY THE END OF OCTOBER SUSIE WAS NO LONGER WEARING ANY TYPE OF BANDAGE. THE WOUND WAS COMPLETELY HEALED AND SHE WAS LEFT WITH A TINY SCAR. SHE ALSO RECEIVED NERVE DAMAGE TO HER LEFT EYELID. SHE CAN'T CLOSE IT ALL THE WAY. THIS IS THE REASON SHE STILL WEARS A FLY MASK MOST OF THE TIME. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE FLIES AND MOSQUITOES ARE OUT. Wild Spirit
Here's a vote : )
One day about a year ago, my sister and I went out to the pasture to catch Goldie and Moses for a ride. They were grazing in the back, and when they saw us coming, they bolted in the opposite direction. They galloped to a corner, then stopped and looked at us curiously for a moment, heads high, ears pricked forward, nostrils flared. I couldn't tell you what Moses looked like because my eyes were glued on Goldie as she arched her neck and burst into a quick, floating trot when we took another step forward. They galloped into the paddock (it's connected to the pasture by a gate that we usually leave open) and stopped. They started sniffing each other, and pawing at each other, then Goldie suddenly reared, Moses trotting a circle around her. I will never forget how beautiful she was with her neck arched and mane flowing, her wild spirit shining through. After a few more minutes of this playful behavior, they slowed down and eventually allowed us to halter them. If you vote for Goldie for August HOTM, you know you are voting for a horse with a fiery spirit, yet with a gentle heart.

The temperature is suppose to be 117* here today and 119* Friday. Going to cool down to a nice 116* on Saturday. It was 110* at 9pm last night. I couldn't believe it. I hosed Lightning down. He enjoyed it so much, he took a nice roll in the poo pile. I'll never get this shirt clean. ...The first 3 pictures are of Randy and Joey the mule. Randy was Star's foal. She is so gorgeous! They're such sweethearts. I fed them some carrots and Austin took pictures, so I could post them. I don't know where Mark was. Maybe some month when the weather cools down, I'll talk Mark into going riding with me and Austin can get some cool shots of someone getting thrown. Randy's been rode less than Lightning.
