SPROCKET AND FRIENDS UPDATE
Had Saddle Club today (Saddle Club is were all of my instructors students get together and ride horses who are not there own) anyway I got to ride this beautiful little Frisian mare and a big quarter horse gelding. It was a lot of fun but I miss Sprocket

our heat index is really off the charts this week! they announced it was 109 at 5pm yesterday. i had 2 teen agers come to ride, a one time thing, then i just rode sing around at walk and trot for about 15 minutes.
is pleasanton as hot? i'm about 30 miles off the coast from galveston. near houston.Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

love the beautiful big horses, like henrieta. i'm trying to get both sing and i fit for jumping a cross country course. we worked over a one stride yesterday. haven't jumped in about a year. it was fun, as jumping always is, lol.

Goldie & Moses are leaving you a vote : ) I had to back down Goldie's goal to 1,110 votes! Come on, guys : ) Please vote for Goldie this weekend! She really deserves this HOTM win. She's an amazing horse-not to brag, of course.
A few days ago, I decided to increase Goldie's grain a little to make sure she's getting enough nutrition. I gave her an extra handful of grain in her breakfast and went to catch her from the pasture later that day. She saw me coming and bolted to the barn in the paddock! She blew through her nostrils and cantered back to the pasture, then back to the barn, and stopped and looked at me. I called her and she trotted by me with her neck arched and tail raised. She trotted a circle around me, then stopped and started to graze. I crouched down and waited for her to come to me. When she finally came, she sniffed my hair with such enthusiasm you would have thought I had carrots in my hair! I decided this behavior must have been caused by that extra handful of grain, because I gave her her normal ration that night and the next day and she was fine. We are switching over to Purina Equine Senior because it has less carbs and sugars, so it won't give her extra energy.
Mia, today's HOTD, needs to find someone who will transport her from WV to LA, to her owner, or she will have to be sold. Her owner cannot travel because she has a baby, and she has not found anyone who can. So if you or someone you know can help her, let her know in a blog on her page. I'm sure she'd be very grateful...she seems to really love Mia. We all know how hard it is to have to give up a horse we love.
I don't think I'll be on HC any more this weekend because we're going to a show.

One day about a year ago, my sister and I went out to the pasture to catch Goldie and Moses for a ride. They were grazing in the back, and when they saw us coming, they bolted in the opposite direction. They galloped to a corner, then stopped and looked at us curiously for a moment, heads high, ears pricked forward, nostrils flared. I couldn't tell you what Moses looked like because my eyes were glued on Goldie as she arched her neck and burst into a quick, floating trot when we took another step forward. They galloped into the paddock (it's connected to the pasture by a gate that we usually leave open) and stopped. They started sniffing each other, and pawing at each other, then Goldie suddenly reared, Moses trotting a circle around her. I will never forget how beautiful she was with her neck arched and mane flowing, her wild spirit shining through. After a few more minutes of this playful behavior, they slowed down and eventually allowed us to halter them. My First Join-Up with Goldie
Hi, here's a vote!
I wanted to tell all of you more about Goldie, and I thought I would start with our first Monty Roberts join-up. It kind of happened by accident, but it was one of the most incredible moments I have ever spent with my horse. My sister and I had just ridden Goldie and Moses and Goldie still had a lot of extra energy, so I decided I would free longe her in the arena. I took her halter off and sent her away from me. She trotted off to the rail. She trotted around the arena a few times, then stopped in front of the gate where my mom and sister stood. They waved their arms at her to send her away and she took off at a brisk canter. She cantered around the arena, head high and tail raised. After a few minutes, Goldie began to lower her head and chew, and that was when I realized we were doing a join-up. She slowed to a trot, then stopped. I turned my back and next thing I knew Goldie was standing beside me. She followed me around the arena...completely by her own choice.

Thanks for the vote, left one for you. No, I don't go on any others, only Horsechannel. I have cats, a dog, and a rabbit, but my horses are my main thing...I want to be a horse trainer. I just don't have the time to go on any others, as it is, I can only go on HC on the weekends. But maybe you can spread the word about Goldie running for August HOTM on Dogchannel, Catchannel, and Birdchannel? That would be very appreciated, but if you can't, that's okay.

NEVER, give horses grass clippings, it could start to grow mold in them. So let them have grass that is not mowed yet. If you want to know more about this just leave me a blog.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, it's just that I have that exact picture on one of my sweatshirts, and I have seen it on posters and in many magazines. You also said that Lady Henrietta is a Clydesdale, this is a picture of a Friesian, and this Friesian can not be 2 years old, because it is heavily muscled with a full mane and tail. 2 year old horses are still getting their muscle tone and can not be jumping already.
