Nicknames: Com, Combiaous, the Cominator, and Commy girl.
Age: 10 years old
Gender: Mare
Breed: Pinto
Height: 13.5, maybe a full 14hh. I need to get out the measuring stick. Some people swear she's a pony but she prefers to be called HORSE, so I say she's 14hh just to spare her the discouragement.
Color: A brown+white pinto. Technically though, a Chestnut tobiano pinto.
Type of Riding: Trail riding, going on picniks, swimming, riding through the pastures at home, I've taken her to a Horse Camp before, and we are planning on Barrel Racing this fall maybe, she knows the pattern and can run faaast. She is in training to be a reining horse (haha training & reining..that rhymes lol) and we'll be showing in that area of competition someday. I have a great bond with Comet and can even ride her bareback and bridleless. This is my 1# mare and I've never met a better horse, or a better LOOKING horse (: She ceases to amaze me with her totally unique personality.
My Horse's Achievements: Yeah. A few somethings. She's became the love of my equine-life and taught me how to ride. Comet is everything to me and I don't know how I'd live without her!
My Horse's Favorite Treat: Anything really. Once I gave her half of my granola bar. Another time I fed her some Cheetos. I think she is partial to strawberries and raspberries. Any kind of edible fruit of berry really. Oh and how could I forget grain of course. When she eat she makes a face that just shouts "YUMMM!", and she gobbles nonstop everytime she eats I'm surprised she hasn't ever choked.
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Eat, sleep, fart, run away from me (only on the days I'm really tired or maybe if I've had a bad day OR if my friends are watching so she can make me look bad lol), step on my feet unexpectedly, bite the toe of my right boot (only the right, never the left), and go swimming. Oh and run. She loves a long gallop on the beach... or anywhere.
Pet Peeves: She HATES it when you stick your finger up her ear.

How We Met
My parents owned Comet's mother Sundance and gave her to me when I was like 10 years old and she was probably 2 or 3. Just a young filly. I started riding her when she was barely green broke and we taught eachother from then on, now we're best friends (: (: (:.

King Kong was very bad yesterday. King did not want to listen to my brother and my brother's friend wanted to help, so he got on King. While my brother's friend was riding King the horse reared and they fell back. He is ok, only suffered whiplash and soreness. We don't know what got into King. When he reared, there was no bit pressure at all. So he could have moved in any direction and he chose up :(
Fancy was very good. My son has ridden her. He has gotten bored riding in the corral, so we walk around the block and through the car wash. My son loves to ride her. He would like me to turn him lose. But I don't think Fancy or my son are ready for that. Because she is still very young and I know my son does not have experience in case something did frighten her. But so far she has been so wonderful on his rides out. I don't take that for granted and I pray that she remains steady.

The dust storms happen every summer. A Semi flipped over on the interstate next to where I work Tuesday night after running into the back of an suv. Haven't heard about the injuries. Hope they were minor. I could see lights from the accident but nothing else.....Solar panels are great. All you have to do is rinse them off when they get dirty. Ours will be off for the next week, or so, because the relay switch broke during the storm. Seems the switch was too small.... Started the girls on their Psyllium treatments Thursday evening. Instead of twice a day, I give it to them once in the evening with a sweet feed mix. I only give Sadie about a third of the feed I give Star. Sadie doesn't need to gain weight... Way too hot to ride. Yesterday's storm was a bad one. One of the worst dust storms ever. It was said on the news that it was 50 miles wide. A lot of people lost power. Ours flickered. Solar panels didn't kick on today. Something may have blown loose....Picking up psyllium pellets today and starting the treatment tonight. Got to get more Senior feed for Star. She's slowly gaining weight. Love and a vote. It's a very hot day for a very hot vote from Fancy girl. The past few days we have enjoyed some afternoon showers. The showers didn't put much into the rain barrel, but they did cool things off, then Fancy got to munch grass in our back yard.

IT's a beautiful day here in Utah! The sun is shining and not a cloud in sight! Going to take more of the mares up the canyon this afternoon so I don't have to feed so much horses. 63 head get's expensive. One of my mares, who is pregnant to a genuine chrome and Shining Spark stallion, has pigeon fever. She got illegitimate child strangles a few years ago and survived. So I'm hoping she'll be okay. The vet says she should but she's just really fragile. her baby is already weird lookin in the womb so we don't know if it'll make it with the pigeon fever. But I sure hope it will. Left a vote!
