wow What a beautiful arab!!!! I am a arab lover myself-own just 1 right now, and I know what you mean by the arab temperment lol. Gator my mare will all of a sudden stop during a trail ride and decide to just turn around and go home! Its so frustrating! But Ive learnt to deal with it, and be prepared at all times. Arabs definately think for themselves all right! But I wouldnt have it any other way, come visit us-left a vote for ya!Come visit me, Sundance kid, Darq Cerenade & Stormy.

Response Thanks for responding. I'm sorry to hear about your fall off of Firefly on the seventh. It's good that you seem to be able to deal with that Arabian temper. It makes me so... argghh! Ginger is not even halter trained right now. She is eight years old and we've had her since she was a yearling. We sent her to a trainer once, but he really messed her up. He never dealt with her horrible head-shy-ness. He just shoved a bit in her mouth and went. But - YAY! - I recently was able to slip a halter over her head. I can now approach her (most of the time) and touch her shoulder without her thinking a thing of it. We're getting a breakaway halter that fits her properly, so we can leave it on her in the field. Now, I just have to get her used to leading. What an adventure that'll be! Yep, she's got the Arabian temper. Casper, on the other hand, not so much. He's pretty laid back. However, he does have a pretty bad problem with barn sour-ness. Eee gads! He whirls around in the field when he doesn't want to go anywhere. Well, thanks for responding. Oh, and by the way, I checked out Toadstool Farm. Tuck is adorable. If you're still thinking about breeding her, I say go for it. FireTuck is the most adorable name ever! Has she been bred to Tuck before? Anyway, sorry so long, and thanks for replying back! --leaving a vote!Come visit me, Casper, Ginger & Lorelai Valentine.

Wanted to say. . . I love Firefly! She is so cute. I have a Quarab - Ginger - and I totally know what you mean by hot blooded Arabian. Ginger is so that way. I love Arabians, and would get another in a heartbeat (I already did, actually), but Ginger makes me so frustrated sometimes. Anyway, come visit her page! Good luck with Firefly.Come visit me, Casper, Ginger & Lorelai Valentine.

What do you think? I am considering breeding Firefly this year to a Fell Stallion named Tuck. His photos and profile can be viewed at www.toadstoolfarm.com. I think they would make a very pretty baby. For now the baby in question, even before conception, has a name, FireTuck. I find it funny because it sounds like Friar Tuck, or Firetruck spoken nasally. I think the foal would come out a rosegray. Honestly, it could come out purple for all it matters. I feel I should breed her because she mellows out while pregnant and she loves to be a broodmare. I wouldn't stop her training for riding, I think it would go better. She is very particular and I think she feels she needs something in exchange for her services. I make her happy, she'll comply and make me happy by letting me ride her. My other choice would be to breed her to Finnvarra. I think that would make a very interesting horse. However, Finn is very athletic and I'm not sure if I want an over athletic foal. I already have two, Firefly and Noir. Also, I think I would like to have a pony. But I'm not sure if I would keep the foal for myself or sell it. Do you think someone would buy a Fell Pony crossed with an Arabian?Come visit me, FireTuck, Firefly, Papillon Noir & Elizabeth.

Starting from scratch... Well, we need to start over. After being thrown three times on Saturday we need to get back to working on standing still next to the mounting block. Once we get past that then maybe riding again with be next. Wish us luck. A zesty Arab is a handful, and can be very painful. Hopefully by the time I get back in the saddle I will be pain free.Come visit me, FireTuck, Firefly, Papillon Noir & Elizabeth.

Things can only get better.. I just want to share that Firefly and I had our first riding lesson ever on Saturday. And to make sure Saturday wasn't a dream, we rode again on Monday. We only walked on Saturday, learning to bend and just enjoying the time in the saddle. Monday made it real because we walked, we trotted, we had a great time together. We have started on our way to having a great riding relationship. She's even getting better about her back hooves, I can finally hold them up for a sceond, just long enough to see they don't need to be cleaned. Soon it will be longer and one day I'll get a hoofpick in there.Come visit me, FireTuck, Firefly, Papillon Noir & Elizabeth.

Questions Anyone have experience with a horse that refuses to settle? Firefly is very dancey to say the least. She also gets very bored very quickly. I have always loved Arabians, but she is my first. I know she is hot blooded, and she comes from a very energetic family, but still. I need to learn ways to keep her calm and busy when I'm trying to groom her or need to step away for a moment. She loves some grooming, but at times she gets restless. I hate the pawing and I've tried many things to make her stop. She can be a very petulant child at times. Is that a normal Arabian behaviour? I'm okay if it is, I just want to know what I'm in for. Thanks for any advice I can get.Come visit me, FireTuck, Firefly, Papillon Noir & Elizabeth.
