Yeah lots of humidity isn't the nicest. Were you able to ride? I have ridden in rain lots of time and gotten my saddle soaked and its still in pretty good condition. BEAUTIFUL HORSE
My daugther and i love paints. That will be my next horse.I couldn't pass up the good deal i got on Zippy and she is sooooooooo calm. Yeah it is nice to have a good stop on the hindquarters. Today I din't ride any of the young horses like I should have as it was wet and rainy for most of the day. I did still go riding on Gazelle with a friend who is leaving for college soon.

Yeah I am real thankful that Gazelle is okay too, as we were going through the fence I had visions of lots of blood. Today I rode Gazelle and worked on getting her soft in the face and worked on her stops as they needed lots of work. I like your new pictures. Heres todays vote. Yeah that is right you don't want to ride those 2 yr olds too much. Yesterday we finally moved my cattle and I rode Gazelle for that. Usually Gazelle listens really well for me, but not yesterday. When we were going after the bull, Gazelle decided to completly ignore me and she ran into a barbed wire gate. She was okay, thankfully, but after that we left the cows for a bit and did a couple circles to get her back to listening. She did really good and was back to listening for the rest of the move.

Thats good that you were able to ride. What do you usually do on your rides? Yeah with horses comes alot of chores as well. The pictures in the My Family section is were the profile pictures of any other horse pages you may have. If you look at mine you will see tha each of those horses have a page of there own. continuing on with, tailor, the bay irish gelding, who was a runaway with his elite american rider on first outing at rolex cross country...
tailor is a bay, standing 17.1 HH. he easily beat the others in dressage at rolex, with a score 12 pts above any others, in an event that measures points in fractions. he actually won this ***event by 0.1 pts! how close can you get??
he then, was placed in a citation bridle, which applies pressure to the nose and mouth, while on CC to gain more control. this met with disastrous results at their next 3 day event! the bit so severely pinched tailor's mouth at the ditch jump, that he spun around, dumping his elite rider, and then refusing to jump ditches thereafter, remembering the pain of his experience. any rider who's tried new equipment can relate! isn't it nice to know we're all in good company and share the same ups and downs as world class riders? :)Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

i was reading about a horse i'm going to tell you about, to break up the monotony of reporting on my daily ride. :)
this horse was sired by a thoroughbred out of an irish sport horse (half thor). his barn name is "tailor." he was brought to the USA as a prospect for an elite american rider. he was bold over the cross country jumps, but sloppy and clumsy over stadium jumps in the arena. his first year out, he was a run away at rolex on the CC! not a very good start to his career! but his trainer and rider were not going to give up easily on this very talented equine athlete. hehe. we should never give up on our horses either! more to come tomorrow.

here's what it's like riding in the sun belt of south texas. (i wouldn't be riding except that i have the playday series with buttercup and am training for an october cross country course with sing)......feels like i have a heating pad set on low and, depending on the direction i'm riding, it's on my back or my arm. feels like if i did a "trust fall" and fell backwards, there's cotton batting surrounding me and i'd be falling slowly through it. hehe. the heat and humidity is like a creature surrounding me. how's your weather up in MI? thanks for the vote! if you visit lots of horse's they will usually come back and vote for you. then you'll get hotd. i didn't understand how it worked when i first got on HC. i like to "talk" and was surprised when i got hotd just because i went around and visited so many horses. you can do it, too.
