How We Met

This is my mare Inherit the Crown, before Crown came to me she was a ex race horse, who then became a broodmare for 5 years. One day I got a phone call, the man told me he had a Thoroughbred mare that he wanted to get rid of and fast. I told him I wanted to come see the mare before he sent her off to slaughter. So I want to see her, as soon as I saw her I knew she was very special. I told the man with in 5 minutes of seeing Crown, that I wanted her. On July 12, 2010 Crown was brought to my farm. We both had our ups and down, Crown injured her back ankle. I thought I could never ride her again, but I was wrong! In 2012 Crown and I started training for Hunter/Jumper. Our first show season was a success! October 25, 2012...... Crown Colic, we couldn't do surgery, and she only had a 50/50 chance of staying alive..... I was heartbroken! A month before Crown colic, I left off of her at a show and broke my ankle. So after I found out how bad she'd colic, I thought again, I will never have the feeling of riding and showing Crown again. I stayed up with her all night, giving her water threw a tube every half an hour. The next morning the vet came back to see if she was going to be ok or not. I was so worried I was going to need to put her to sleep! Then he told me that Crown was going to be ok! My eyes filled with happy tears! Now Crown has made a full recovery from last October, and back in training for this year's show season.

Crown is a strong fighter, She's cheated the loss of her life 3 times now. I love my girl for everything she teaches me and for being my best friend, especially when I need her the most! I will always fight her no matter what happens. I couldn't ask for a better horse!
