Sick. Still.
Another day at home. Hoping that I will feel better by the end of the day so I can head out to the barn. The sun hasn’t risen yet but it looks like another dreary day. Oh well. But I finally won Whinny Warz! LOL.

I got off of work early today so I got to ride!! Tomorrow I am working but then next week I just have to work one day which is awesome so I don't know if I will get online tomorrow or not! Tonight I got to ride Daisy. I decided I need to ride her on the road in order to get her used to it and also I would like to ride her down to the farrier down close to Sharon's as he is cheaper than the farrier I was using (and also then maybe I can go on a trail ride with my friend's as well). Anyway first I lunged Daisy and tonight she did the best she ever did and then I saddled her up with the western saddle and I put my helmet on. First I rode her in the field at a flat out run..what fun!! Then on the road we went. We just walked for the first bit then we did some cantering. WOW what fun..we did a lot of cantering and she did awesome. She only shied a few times..the first time at a big bus and then the second time she didn't move at all off the path just jumped in place a bit :) I was so proud of her. I think the reason we did so much better today was because we know each other a ton better and we are more confident and trust each other more as well!! Anyway it was totally awesome!! Nothing much going on here. I rode Daisy bareback at a trot for the first time on Thursday night. I didn't ride last night then because of some personal issues that needed resolved. Then today I saw Daisy's halter had rubbed (I so wish I had noticed this before but I figure that the reason it hadn't before was because she filled out quite a bit...not just in her stomache area either) so I got her a new halter (a leather one) till I get a nylon one! She looks so nice in it. I can't wait to take some photos of her in it. Hope you all have a wonderful and blessed weekend. Remember to pray for those who lost their horses!! P.s. You asked about the background I made for Prince's avatar? Well, I used several body parts to make the different colours of the sunset. I used two Easter eggs to make the sun and its outline. The hill is body parts and the grass is tails. And the clouds are ghosts. I hope that helps. How's everything going for you this weekend? I finally got a bit of time to blog. Yay! I'm sorry I didn't stop by sooner. Thanks for visiting my pages and I'm so glad you like all the photos of Pippin.
So, Tank changes colour too? Every spring I clip Pippin and he's a blue roan for a few weeks. It's really cool.
This week my sister and I had quiet rides on Eddie and Prince. It's back in the 100s again and even though we ride at dusk it was still pretty hot and both of them were less than energetic.
It was nice though because I rode bareback again. I haven't done that for over a year and the last time I did was when Prince went insane and I ended up with concussion and a number of bruises. He's come a long way since then.
He still thinks its weird without a saddle though and he kept looking at my right foot like it wasn't supposed to be there. And then he'd shake his withers and flanks as though there were flies on him. Maybe he just thinks I'm a big ticklish fly. But he didn't spook or buck. In fact, he hasn't bucked since I've switched from his huge heavy Western saddle. I never liked that saddle and perhaps he never did either.
The week before last I only rode Jewel and my sister didn't ride at all. You should have seen Prince's expression of disbelief! "What, you're riding HER?! And not ME?" I didn't have a lot of time though and Jewel hadn't been taken out all week.
I rode her hard for about an hour. First ever long ride on her. All of the previous ones (10 or so) have only been for about 15 minutes. And we worked on cantering. She has a strange canter. On a straight line her body is diagonal. Almost 45 degrees from the direction we're going. I worked on straightening her out and she did improve. But one thing that really pleased me is that she has absolutely no problem picking up the correct lead. Every time I asked for a specific lead she took it, no question. I am impressed with her.
She would make a great dressage horse with the right rider. She has excellent collection and a nice spring and hangtime to her gaits. Too bad she's not mine and I don't have more time. I love working with her.
Pippin is doing great and at least he's right here so I can get my horsey fix several times a day. If you saw his video you'll see what a quirky personality he has. He likes to nibble on people and I thought I'd see if he'd actually bite properly if I let him have my hand. Well, he got his teeth on my thumb and let me assure you, yes, he can bite properly. Nasty little ...
I've been driving him quite a bit and he's always good. And the heat really doesn't seem to bother him. He barely breaks a sweat. I think I might clip him again though as he's already started on his winter coat.

Hello!!
Thank you guys so much for Beauty's HOTD yesterday. I was at a family reunion that is why I didn't respond then =D Navajo and Beauty were together all Saturday night and Sunday because of storms that were to go thru (the storms didn't hit our area hard just a little ways away it did though). They are great friends and I am so happy for that!! Beauty is still jealous of Navajo but is very trusting =) I hope to work with her tonight. Update!!
Beauty arrived last night at 9 in the evening. I let Navajo meet her and then I turned him out while she stayed inside the pen by the barn. Then this morning I put them together and they seemed a bit warry of each other at first and then they started grooming each other. I ws like awesome no fighting..hehe then Beauty kicked Navajo (bruised his lip up a bit) and off she went. So she is the dominate horse here which just shows I guess that Navajo won't pick a fight..my gentle giant! (Beauty fought with another horse earlier this week at the place she was previously staying when she got out of her pasture so they had to put her with the other horse and they fought then). Anyway I cleaned Navajo up a bit..he was bleeding from where Beauty kicked him (Beauty neighed for him and he responded..I told him he gets beat up and he misses her already =D) and put them back together while I got the manure cleaned up and a few other things from when I was working at my aunt and uncle's. I had a few piles of hay in with the horses because I saw that Miss Beauty was going to hog it all otherwise =D They did good being together. That I was happy about! Then when I put them seperatly to eat grass they were neighing at each other at first but they calmed down after a bit. It is so cute how Navajo just neighs for Beauty and she responds back =) They are both doing great!! I am so glad she is here now!! I see you are from PA as well. Do you know where Lancaster is..that is about 1/2 hr west of me! So what part of PA do you live in? Thank you..I am hoping to sell Navajo to my farrier that way I know he will have a forever home. We shall see! So how long have you had Tank? Very pretty horse =) Thank you!
Finally a vote for you =) I am at my aunt and uncle's place (was here since yesterday morning working for them..I work for them two days a week) and am soon going to head home. For those of you who don't know already I got my liscence on Wednesday..that I was excited about. Beauty is coming today instead of yesterday..apparently something was up with the truck and trailer and if things go as planned she will be coming tonight. No home for Navajo YET but am waiting for an answer from my farrier. We shall see! Anyway tonight I doubt I will ride but we shall see. I am so EXCITED =D Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I had another red dunn before I got Ginger, her name was Ditto. She had the stripes on her legs, Ginger doesn't. I sold Ditto to my farrier, the guy just loved her and at the time I had too many horses for my property. When I was looking for another horse I went out to look at Ginger..She looks so much like Ditto, just a lot bigger:) Love the dunns!
