Fancy is here with another Happy 4th Celebration vote!!!
Is that the new baby below on the first row? He is dandy!!! Born just in time for the fireworks! You know horses always wait till it rains(preferably storm!) to have those foals!
We have been horsen around all evening. Fancy had her bath, all the grass she could eat, a short stroll through the neighborhood, time with her new rider (my son), and one of her favorite treats, watermelon! She was a very good girl all day! Happy little thing she was, today.
I got some nice photos today and loaded a few below.
We had to use my saddle pad when my son rode because, his new blue pad is too small. We are going to use it for cushion to sit on when we go to the horse auction instead. You can see how small it is in the photo of the saddle on the stand below. My son enjoyed his ride today. your puppies sound darling! i hate toileting my dogs in the rainy weather, too! we're having 80/60 days & nights. soon it will creep up in the 90's. this is the best time of year!
today i worked with peach, my haflinger. she has been balking and instead of using the crop, i've been making her back up 6-10 steps each time she does it. tonight for the first time, she walked off and no balking! i've been waiting for this! i decided when she did it that all i was going to do was walk her. so we went out in the pasture and did turns around the trees to work on suppling, walked over the big tractor tires and enjoyed the birds tweeting. what a great ride! hope she realizes that being obedient means we do less work. :)Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

A Fancy Sunday night vote being left for ya! Didn't have any horsey activities this day because it was my brother's birthday. We had a dinner for him and I watched Lonesome Dove with him. Lonesome Dove is his favorite movie!!! It is one of My favorite movies to:)
I meant to mention last week, I noticed the last week in February, Fancy has finally developed withers! Before, she was FLAT and wide in that area. I thought she was going to be quite witherless. I am very happy about this. I like a horse with some withers.

What do you think is the most thankful or rewarding part of owning your horse or the last horse you owned. I think for me it is just the way she looks up to me and has a genuine need for my love. Horses don't lie. They can't, it just isn't in them.
