Happy Sunday!
It snowed (again) last night. I normally like the snow, but enough is enough. The old snow hasn't even melted away yet, so now there's just snow on top of snow. Oh well, I'll just make a thermos of hot chocolate and head to the barn to watch the horses romp in all the white stuff. Winter OR summer, it's fun to watch horses run and play! I left a vote, have a horsey day!

Thanks for your support of Rocky's HOTD. It has been impossible for me to blog & vote this week since both my daughter has been moving into her apartment and we've been packing & cleaning all week, plus Comet is moving tomorrow to the new stable and I packed all his stuff into the trailer today! So, needless to say, I'm so tired out. Thank you so much for helping Rocky to get a HOTD badge once again.

*** SORRY FOR THE LONG BLOG!! but it's worth the read :) ***

good morning everyone :)
i first off just want to say thank you to everyone for zig's HOTD win on saturday! it was a huge surprise to see him in the spotlight again and kind of ironic because he also got HOTD last february on valentines day :) so that's two HOTD wins in the same month only a few days apart over one year hahah wierd right?! lol but thank you!

I actually did get to ride yesterday which was nice even though it was only 27 degrees outside with a big windchill hahah horse people are crazy if i must say ;) it was a rough start but by the end of the lesson, we nailed the course and my trainer said that my form and ability to handle zig has improved tremendously over the past year! and that's another thing, i've now been riding ziggy for a year and i can't believe how far we've come and how fast it's gone by! i wouldn't be anywhere without him and my wonderful trainer <3 back to my lesson: we only did two jumps in the form of a right circle on the right lead. we jumped the wooden vertical and then circled immediately to the right along the fence and then took a sharp right turn to the white cross rail and repeat. he was super collected the entire time and i felt like we were snailing along but my trainer said that we were almost at a hand gallop haha! (which is funny because when i first started riding it felt like we were FLYING even though we were only barely crawling along!) he kept getting really fast and heavy after the wooden vertical and i had to really use my seat and get my heels down to help slow him down. one time he was pretty strong and i was kind of in a forward-slightly-out-of-the-saddle position and when i asked him to slow he kind of bounced which knocked me off balance and then he shot forward again and i fell off over the side. i did like a forward/sideways roll and i rolled on my neck funny so it's pretty sore today but other than that im fine and of course zig did what he always did and just stood there and stared at me like "what are you doing down there?" hahah but the upside is that my thighs don't hurt like they usually do when jess makes me do my stirrupsless two-point laps! which is nice haha anyways sorry for the long blog but here's a vote and thank you for the HOTD win!

hellooooooo!!!!!!
i hope everyone had a wonderful and well rested weekend! first off i just want to thank everyone soooo much for juanita's HOTD!! it really means alot!! you all are like my third family hahah! you're always so supportive and caring and you always brighten my day :)

** GREAT NEWS!!! ** Ziggy is %100 sound and ready for shows again!! i went over to my trainer's new barn where they're keeping him and three other horses for the first time on friday and saddled zig up as well for the first time since his injury. I just walked him around the outside of the main barn for the first like 10 or 15 minutes since the barn's not too big haha and then my trainer said that he looked great so she decided and asked me to make him trot and see what happened. he was alittle slow at first but then he started trotting beautifully like he normally does!! he didn't seem to have a problem with that either so i trotted him around the barn for about 10 minutes with no trouble so then my trainer hopped up on the fence and told me to trot zig around the the big pasture surrounding the little pasture around his barn. and MY GOODNESSSSSS he was ready to GOOO hahah! i started off at a nice steady trott up the slightly inclined pasture hill and then on the way back down....BAMMM he shot out like a rocket! hahah he took off cantering with me and it took all my strength to pull him down to a trot again! lol you could tell that he was so ready to just let loose and run! he took off cantering with me almost every time we headed back down the hill lol i had to REAAALLY shorten my reins with him, and when he was trotting down the hill he was going sooo strong and i bouncing all over the place :P It was so much fun riding him again. It reminded me of how much i miss riding him and how responsive he is as well lol compared to juanita he's a saint :) anyways after his ride he was still sound and jess, my trainer, said that he even looked sound when he cantered that little bit with me on him hahah. she said that he looks good and happy and that he is now free to go to shows again!! not jumping yet but walk trot shows and possibly cantering by july for my first show, he just has to get used to the work again, slowly but surely! im just so happy that he's better! over joyed actually hahah! i put up photos from my ride on friday on zigger's page so go by and check em out! so i won't be riding juanita much anymore :( except maybe for jumping at first in case zig isn't ready for that but last sunday was my last lesson on her. anyways that's all the good news that i have to share with you all! i thank you all for all the prayers and support that you've given ziggy since his injury, it has really seemed to help! thank you sooo much! im leavin a vote and i hope all is well with you!

Tuesday afternoon vote for ya. I groomed Fancy this morning and cleaned her stall before I fed her. Now it's after 1pm and it's snowing pretty hard.

I won't be posting me brother's yearling filly after all. This man couldn't feed all of his horses, so he gave my brother a yearling last month. My brother lost his job so he gave her to a friend. Right now she is sick, only eating a little and sometimes she won't stand up. He had a vet check her and said to make a sling to hold her up and keep trying to feed her.
