I am from Nowhere, MO and I've been a Club Horse member for 3 years, 6 months and 19 days
Nicknames: Brawny, Brown-boy, Browneigh, Bro, Brown-brown, silly pony, etc.
Age: 20 years old
Breed: Shetland Pony
Height: Probably about 10hh. Not a miniature, but not a big Shettie. Just right for kids(:
Type of Riding: I don't ride him that often now, I got much taller and my feet drag the ground. Every now and then I ride him out to the mailbox, but usually my students ride him. Western, doing stuff like barrels and poles, flags, plain pasture riding, jumping...which he is actually good at it just takes a little work to get him up to speed before the jump hehe.
My Horse's Achievements: Browny was my first horse. When I was five my uncle gave me this guy, a little lead line pony. I was so proud to have my own horse, just like my brothers and parents, only smaller. Less than a year later I busted my arm cause the saddle slipped off his chubby belly sideways. For the record, we never did find a saddle for him that actually DIDN'T slide around, even though he is skinnier now. Browny's withers have never been seen, it's just a straight line at the end of his neck to his back, so that would probably be why saddles don't fit him real well. Anyways when I was about eleven I broke the lazy lead-line pony and started riding him every day and spoiled him rotten. I still hadn't learned to ride but I wasn't scared to break this horse cause it was only a two foot drop to the ground and he'd never offered to buck anyways. Only problem was he tried to rub me off in some fences and was excessively lazy. I got 'er done though! Now Browny spends his time being a trailer pardner for my colt Tomahawk when we go to rodeos, riding in our town's yearly parade, getting ridden by children (both as a leadline pony and as a lesson horse), and enjoying his pasture time. Couldn't have asked for a better first horse.
My Horse's Favorite Treat: Any kind of fruit, watermelons and strawberries and lettuce in particular. Grain is goooood... His favorite of them all would probably be sugar cubes.
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: He likes to eat. Correction-he LOVES to eat. He is always sticking his neck through the yard fence trying to get a mouthful of luscious grass. I don't really see the difference between the grass in the yard and grass in the pasture but something must be better about it. Every now and then I let him in the yard (; just to make him happy.
Pet Peeves: Doesn't really have any. I guess there is one thing, he has furry legs year round, you know like draft horses have...feathers- ? Well, if you're riding him and bend waaaay over and touch his 'feathers' he gets irritated. Sometimes he twists his neck and nips, but he's never bit me for it yet lol.
My Horse's motto: Many people have sighed for the 'good old days' and regretted the 'passing of the horse,' but today, when only those who like horses own them, it is a far better time for horses. ~C.W. Anderson
