How We Met

My best friend called me up and told me that he had bought another horse. It was only his second one, but I knew that he was planning on getting 5 total, one for each of his nieces. I had asked him to let me come with him before he bought any horses to make sure that they were "child safe" so I was upset that he had already bought one without my help. He told me he only gave $100 and that if she wasn't removed from the property she was on, they were going to have to put her down because the owner could not lease it anymore. Of course I fall for the sob story and we go to pick her up. She would not get anywhere near us or the trailer. But I could tell her head was swollen and I asked him about it. He then informed me that someone had already bought the other horses that had been in the pasture, and when they were trying to force Belle into the trailer, she reared up and busted her head on the top of it. It wasn't until much later, that I pieced together the rest of it. She had busted her head on the trailer, but she did it with such force, that she fractured her skull and now has an indention about the size of a golf ball in the middle of her head. We never did get her loaded that day, and I have no idea how Jeremy got her loaded 2 days later. All he will tell me is that he talked her into it..
