I hope you gals and guys are saddling up Saturday and/or Sunday in support of our Veterans. People who give or gave their lives for others each day they served, when they really did not have to do so. Wow, what amazing people they are.

My granddad was in WWII and my oldest son has served in the Afghanistan wars, working on communications devices. I have one cousin serving in the navy, that was injured during the attack against the United States Navy destroyer USS Cole on October 12, 2000.

We all are affected by the military in some way.

No ride today, it was very chilly and windy :(

Does anyone remember reading last month, about a nationwide Ride to Remember Veterans during Veteran's Day weekend, Nov. 10-11, 2012? How would you guys like to have our own HorseChannel ride in honor of Veteran's Day? We can chose one day that we all will ride on, even if it is only for a few minutes or just to sit on the horse during the Veteran's holiday. Then we could share our pics from that day and share our story of the day. If you agree would Sunday November the 11 be ok for our ride date?

November is a time of thanks. Thanks should be part of our every day lives all year long. Let us be thankful for our friends and loved ones. Let us be kind one to another. Cruelty has no place among true friends.

Hi! Did you have a busy, fun weekend? What have you been up to?

I have been on the move, but I enjoyed it! Saturday morning, Fancy participated in her first parade! It was a really big homecoming parade, with lots of tight crowds and loud bands! Fancy was excited for the first 15 to 20 minutes, but after that she was very relaxed and was not bothered by bouncing children on the sidelines. In past years, I have ridden my previous horses in this parade, but I never got to participate in the tradition of riding around the football field before the game. I could not get my past horses onto the football field because they were afraid. Well yesterday, I did for the first time, ride around the football field, with my Fancy! Fancy even took the lead and she did that running walk at least half way around! It was so much fun! I will never forget the first time I got to ride around the football field!!!!! Oh, and to boot, the home team won their game!!!!!! I would like to believe Fancy gave them good luck when she went around the field. LOL!
Half way through the day all I could think of was how this has to be my best day ever with Fancy. And then I think to myself, I have had so many days that I thought were my best day ever with Fancy! Saturday morning, I lost my keys on the way out of town. The keys fell off the side of the trailer or the truck. But I found them completely mangled on the side of a busy street after 6 hours of being run over in heavy traffic. Even though I had the lost key problem, I still had that feeling of this being the best day ever!

Saturday night, our family attended our horseshow end of year banquet. This was our first time attending and I had no idea what to expect. So, I did not take my camera and I was very surprised to see Little Cowboy & Trigger won a good bit of awards. Little Cowboy was so excited to share the awards with Trigger, they used their new snaffle bit and new grooming kit tonight. He is going to save his new blanket for next years show season. Little Cowboy rode until dark, and I did get a few pictures tonight before it got too dark.

Hi. I am so sorry that you have lost your father. I am glad you do not have to feel alone because he has left you with one of the greatest friends a girl or any child could have. The mane of a horse works wonders wiping tears away. And horses have a gentle spirit when we are down. I am sure you are or have gone over ever loving memory of your father that you could possibly muster up. Keep your chin up best you can and be blessed. Difficult times do not last.

It was a lovely day until the rains came in. There was a long storm that recently ended. It feels really nice outside these days.
Trigger was blind in one eye before we got him. Monday his blind eye was very cloudy. Today the vet told me Trigger is fine long as he is in no pain. He is such a great kids horse. I hate that something happened to his eye and I pray that I can take good care of him from now on.

Please visit Sassy Sapphire #193884 and leave an encouraging word. From what I can tell, her blog to me says Sassy Sapphire's owner lost her father this past Sunday morning.

One of my friends was out last Saturday at one of the state parks riding and there was an accident. Her friend dismounted to help and her friend's palomino TWH walked off. They were on the news tonight asking for help to find the missing horse. Please pray that they find Jasmine in good health very soon.

Little Cowboy went to see the Avengers Thursday night with his older brother.
Buttercup has been acting like a bucking rodeo horse. Then my brother got a cramp in his leg. LOL

Friday I used the clippers on Fancy for the second time. I allowed plenty of time for desensitizing. She was very good and seemed to enjoy the vibration of the clippers on her chin. It was funny, the way she kept moving her chin towards the clippers when I would move them away.

Saturday Fancy and I attended our 2nd horse show. This was a very first show for Cowboy and Trigger. There was a lot more horses competing in each class this time!
I was not able to keep up with how many horses were in each class this time. Fancy got 5th place in Open Halter all mares and 3rd place in Adult Western Non-Trotting. Fancy didn't place in Adult Halter English or Western this time.

Trigger was on his best ever behavior! Cowboy and Trigger placed in each event they entered! They got 4th place in Youth Western Walk/Jog, 2nd place in Youth Catalog Race, and 4th place in Youth Flag Race. Cowboy and Trigger received lots of comments on how they seemed perfect for one other. My little duo made a ton of friends of all ages. The farm dog took a liking to them too. People were saying that dog would have to go home with Cowboy and Trigger. OH NO, Can't afford to feed any thing else! LOL :~)

Saturday and Sunday evenings were spent at the horse clinic. Fancy and I are learning how to be good show participants along with other members. During the halter and showmanship sessions Fancy was very good. Fancy was complemented on her ability to halt squarely. Under saddle, Fancy found a hyper buddy. Each time they met in the same spot of the arena, they would both kick up and get excited. They acted like they both saw something there. Nobody knows except the two of them. LOL. Sunday was much better. Fancy was complimented on being the first brave horse to cross the tarp. All horses behaved well!!!

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS, Cowboy Definitions:
Adam's Ale - Water.

Cowboy took Trigg to the vet after school today. I thought he might be a pony or something. LOL! But the vet says he is a full Arabian, just kind of small and he says that can be normal.

After our vet visit, Cowboy and I visited the farm. Buttercup has given her little heart to my brother after all. Buttercup was out, eating grass when my brother walked by, she actually wanted to follow him with ears forward and a very happy horsey expression! So different from weeks ago!!! I am happy for him.

I forgot to tell you, I got Fancy some sweet rolls for her birthday and she did not like them. I had to get Fancy some watermelon. But Trigger loved the sweet rolls, so I gave him the sweet rolls. Fancy would get in between Trigg and the sweet rolls and try to keep him from eating them. When she walked or turned away from them Trigg would try to sneak around her to get them. It would take him a while, but finally he would get to eat them. Those two were so funny.

Fancy and I are learning some things for our new halter and showmanship interest. It is going to take some time before we are ready for showmanship. But we can have fun learning in the meantime.

I may be offline Saturday. I will try and log in to vote contest if I can't do anything else.

FANCY NEIGHS THANKS FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES!!!

Early this morning Cowboy and I attended a horse show class. Learned a lot and had a wonderful time!

After lunch Buttercup & my brother came over & went for a stroll with Cowboy and Trigg. I walked beside Cowboy & Trigg during their ride. We all had to wait under the carwash till the rain stopped. Buttercup is doing much better! She doesn't seem to give her heart away to just anyone. She is a sweet girl once she accepts you. She is finally BEGINNING to accept my brother. She is beginning to keep those ears up and happy.
I seem to be quite the little instigator here. I had to insist they try all kind of things. It was FUN!!! I had them going between swings, under picnic shelters, going up steps, going up and down small hills and concrete walls. My brother seemed to be amused. Little Cowboy was just having fun. LOL. There was a lot of laughing!!!

Fancy had and easy day today. All she had to do was look pretty and be sweet, she done an excellent job at that. LOL!

I dedicate this special occasion of our first show together to Joanna and Pixie Dust.

Fancy spent Friday night in a blanket with hopes she would be more clean than dirty come morning. The back clip had come undone, but that blanket did serve the purpose. Fancy only had one area on the side of her neck that was dirty. Once at the farm, I cleaned her dirty spot and her feet before introducing Fancy to the sandy arena. At first she was a little excited to be in a new place, but soon settled down. We only entered two classes this time. Fancy was fine, except she did not like horses standing behind her. When horses were lined up behind us, Fancy kept trying to spin around to see exactly what they had in mind back there.
We entered class 2 Adult Halter with 6 entries and Fancy placed 3rd!!!! This was the first time I ever won a ribbon with any horse!!! I was so excited. We didn't do so well in Class 3 as we placed 5th out of 5. However, We did leave with 2 ribbons from our first show!!!

MESSAGE FROM JOANNA'S SISTER APRIL 4, 2012: I just found the webpage on HorseChannel and it is so sweet. My parents and I are really appreciate of everyone's kind gestures, which mean so much to us. Thank you!!

Your responses to my blogs have encouraged me during the blogs that I have written. Sometimes it is hard when you miss someone that has touched you in a special way. I thank you so much.

I really hope you have enjoyed reading and learned some things about our Angel Joanna. Thanks for reading these blogs and taking into consideration how Joanna touched many lives during her short stay on earth. We never knew just how giving she was until it was too late.

Be kind, be sweet, be loving to one another, because we don't know what a person is struggling with from day to day and we all have struggles.

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS, ANGELS HAVE NO PHILOSOPHY BUT LOVE:

Sometime in 1991, Joanna came across 2 Shetland ponies for sale in a want ad. Both ponies were purchased by her family and given to Bloomfield Hills School Farm. Joanna named the ponies Tinkerbell & Pixie Dust. Joanna helped her mom create and teach 'LOVE-A-PONY', an afterschool and summer class for children. For seven years Joanna was with her ponies almost every day. It has been over 19 years since creating LOVE-A-PONY, and I have read that this pony class is still being taught this very day.

Joanna's was confined to her bed the last 9 years of her life, during which Pixie Dust was allowed to visit Joanna at her bedside. Joanna also made friends all across the world with the use of her computer, thanks to her dad for building a stand that allowed her to safely use the computer while lying down.

Pixie Dust at 21 years old, has joined Joanna in Heaven. I have read that this date was sometime around or on the 27 of February, 2012. I can only imagine the joy felt during that reunion.

Joanna was extraordinary. Always thinking of how she could help others, even through the use of her ponies. She loved unconditional and she reached out to others, even when she needed to be reached out to.

Joanna, a true inspiration ♥

Pixie Dust, belonged to our Facebook pal and HorseChannel member, Joanna Wicke. Joanna was loved by all who knew her. She was always positive and uplifting to others. Joanna welcomed Fancy and I to HorseChannel with unbelievable love and daily support. After a disturbing disappearance of Joanna, Sadie's owner, Joyce informed us that Joanna had passed away in her sleep at the tender age of 34 on September 23, 2011. It was only then that her many health conditions were revealed. Even though being confined to her bed for the past 9 years, Joanna never once revealed a single pain to us. What a remarkable YOUNG person to have as a friend.
It was in 1991 that Joanna & her mom purchased Pixie Dust to share with the Bloomfield Hills School Farm. For 7 years Joanna helped her mom create & teach Love-A-Pony, an afterschool & summer class for children.

We have enjoyed a fun horsey filled weekend. Cowboy was feeling better and ready to get going. Saturday evening we spent at the horse auction. Cowboy was very shocked to see a run-a-way Halflinger run past us in a panic. His owner had beat him with a pipe and the poor animal was doing his best to run away. This happened twice before we left. Same horse, same man, same pipe. I could not understand how no one reported the man.
We have afternoon storms lately, so our herd of 2 was very dirty. It only sprinkled a little today, which allowed us to groom them. Cowboy could not believe how much shedding hair and dirt was on his little Trigger. I thought Fancy was close to finished shedding until I curried her today! What a load of fluff!
Cowboy was very proud of his little obstacle coarse made with cones he set in the back yard. We took turns walking Trigger and Fancy through them. It sure did turn cold as the sun set. We put our herd of 2 in the corral and we headed in for the night. Surprise for me! This was the first time we put Fancy and Trigg in the corral for the night that Fancy did not chase Trigg and be mean to him. Yay Fancy! My good girl :)

I ENJOYED READING THE BLOGS ABOUT YOUR HORSES! THANKS FOR SHARING THOSE NEAT STORIES!!!

Early Sunday morning I looked to see what Fancy was up to. I saw my little busy body, Playgirl. She was at the end of the boards that make our 'L' pattern. Fancy put her head down and gave it a good look, then put her right hoof on the board. Lifted her head for a moment and then gave it another close look and put her left hoof on the board and commenced to walk on that board. Now this board is 12 feet wide or less. Probably 12 feet wide. But it is not wide enough for a horse to walk on. Fancy looked like a tight rope walker in the circus. I thought that was so cute. And I thought, she must really like our horsey toys and the things we do. LOL. How smart can my little girl be.

Cowboy and I enjoyed another day riding around my horsey toys. He is learning to be more confident with Trigger. I have to convince Cowboy that Trigger can do these things. And Cowboy has taken a liking to taking horsey photos with my camera. I think he is going to need his own camera soon :)

The day I met Fancy:
March 9, 2009,8am: found classified add for 10 month TWH. That evening, we traveled to a VA farm. The owner pointed Fancy out, my heart immediately fell in love with this untouched filly. I saw a beautiful future in this long legged, woolly, running like crazy, with her big round bulging belly, filly. The drive from NC to VA was not in vain. The owner and his sons drove all horses into the barn and then ran them out, except one, Fancy. They got the halter on her and the fight was on. After finally reaching the trailer, it took forever to get her in the trailer. The guys had to lift her up and push her in. Ok that done, the sun had parted with us and we were on our way home.
We stopped at the convenience store and I looked in to check on what I planned to be my new best pal. She was not happy, but doing fine.
In the dark of the night, Fancy would not back out of the trailer. She actually decided she would rather lay down in the floor of the trailer rather than do anything we wanted her to do. We had already moved the partition to the side of the trailer to give her space, but we had to work around the center bar in between the back doors. Fancy would not get up for nothing in the world. I wanted to leave her there for the night, but feared she would hurt herself on the partition or something when she did get up. We carefully pulled her out without hurting her. I put her in a stall for the night so I would not fear her getting hurt because she did not know her surroundings. I did not sleep all that night!
Each day there after, I would sit in her presence for a while and when she showed signs of relaxing, I went in to catch her. She was tricky, but so was I. LOL. She slowly learned and gave me her trust.
Each day with Fancy is as exciting as the very first.

We have been out riding today. I rode Fancy and she was feeling pretty good. LOL. My nephew Eli came over and he and Cowboy C rode Trigger. I led Eli around for a while then Cowboy C rode around the block. Cowboy let me lead the neighbor's little boy on Trigger. And it just happened to be the little boy's birthday! This little guy was so excited!

I am posting photos of Fancy from our first days together. Friday, March the 9th will be our 3rd year together and I am feeling kind of sentimental. LOL.

Horsen around really can wear you out. LOL! I am again very tired, but I love the exercise!

We have enjoyed a very chilly, windy, beautiful, horsey day! Cowboy C had his best pal from school over for the day. They took turns riding Trigg while Fancy watched from her stall. When they tired of riding, I got Fancy out for some grass and grooming, then I turned her loose again. I always get Trigg out first and Fancy second. That way she remembers that she got all the attention before I went in for the night. Fancy is so funny. When she comes out, she looks at Trigg with this attitude, as if to tell him that she is princess of this yard. Trigg is so sweet and tolerant of other horses. . When I return Fancy to the coral she will chase him for a second to let him know she is back. Then she leaves him alone. I notice that each day Fancy picks on Trigg less.

Fancy and Trigg are doing fine. Fancy chases; Trigg runs.
We are expecting at least 2 more rainy days, so nothing is planned for the weekend.

Cowboy C and I have been very busy lately. We give Trigg his med baths and take him for a daily walk to help him dry. Then we let Trigg and Fancy eat grass in the back yard.
Fancy is a little jealous off Trigg. She tries to stay in between Trigg and us. I tell her no and make her back up when she does this. Today Fancy was a good girl when my son walked over to tell Trigg goodnight.
Thursday my little Cowboy rode Trigg in the back yard. Trigg has not been ridden since the last time 'C' rode him in November at the farm. He is not perfect, but he was pretty good.

Well, I need to finish my blogging and voting so I can get some rest. You have a good night ♥

Johnny Nash,Jr.(born August 19, 1940) American pop singer-songwriter, best known in the US for his 1972 hit, "I Can See Clearly Now".
What was Nash,the pop crooner, doing in felt cowboy hat, suede vest & boots? Each week he would sponsor a rodeo for aspiring bull riders, barrel racers & pint-sized goat chasers. Nash & his wife, Carlie, built a ranch & opened an arena around January 1993. Some of Nash's best childhood memories are of riding in the country at his grandmother's ranch. So once the music industry lost some of its luster, it seemed natural that he recreate those feelings of freedom by building his own ranch. Later, it seemed only natural that he share those feelings with city kids.
Inside the arena was a true Texas rodeo, complete with barbecue, tacos & music that didn't quit till 2 a.m. Nash says the typical audience was around 200. The mood was enthusiastic but restrained.
On weekends, cowboys & families of all colors would play hard together without noticing the different shades of their skin. During the week, busloads of city kids would learn the mysteries of goats & horses. Nash had hopes of another project, the Four-N-Foundation, to support an on-horseback drill team for area youth.
2012 Johnny Nash's arena is still standing, but sadly it is not being used today.
Nash's music remained popular in Britain through the mid-1980s, but he hit a wall in the United States by 1975. His recording company urged him to rock up his balladeer style, but Nash chose to stop performing. Today, he sings only in his church choir & local schools, preferring privacy over public appearances.
"He's a very positive role model, a mentor-type person," says William "Skip" Samuel, a child-care worker and Nash family friend.

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS, Celebrate BlackHistory Month:

Fancy Queen of Heart Month is blowing a heart vote in your direction this beautiful Monday morning.

We thank Joey, Ginger, and Angel Betsy for suggesting us doing the Black History blogs this past few weeks. I enjoyed this project, it was fun to share some of my most favorite horsey characters with you guys. I appreciate the comments and responses we received.

'C' & I trailered Trigger home Saturday morning. 'C' led Trigger to the trailer, however once Trigg saw that he was leaving he pitched a fit for King Kong. King Kong was so busy eating grass, he had no cares for Trigger's plight. Once loaded Trigger was just fine. He didn't like the idea of a bath, but it was fun cleaning him up. After his baths we take him walking and let him graze while he dries.
Sunday evening, Trigger and Fancy were turned out together for the first time. To my surprise, Fancy is not even mean to Trigger, not at all. She lets him walk anywhere he wants to, lets him eat her hay and she even eats with him. However, she does stay in between Trigger and I. I was patting Fancy on the side of her neck and Trigger wanted a pat to. He walked towards me and Fancy ran him off. He looked so pitiful. I think after a while she will allow him to come to me too, because Trigger is the very first animal in our yard that Fancy is not very mean to. I wonder if she is nice to him because she remembers him from last summer when we visited the farm, he visited us, and we went riding together.
I was very tired Sunday night. I did get my profile photos changed, then I was off to bed.
