I decided to start riding and he was the horse chosen for me. I don't own him. But he is my dream horse. UPDATE As of Early 2011. TJ was sold to another woman when he showed signs of being mistreated by another rider. he has gone to a good home and I am now looking for another horse..

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS: “A mother understands what a child does not say” (unknown)
Are you finally enjoying spring? We went out of town last night to help a friend. It was soo late when we returned I had to call it a night. Fancy is ready for fun. She lets me know she wants an outing by neighing to me when I go outside for any reason. I tried to get some help taking the cart out, but no help just yet. I am giving my mom flowers for Mother's Day, perennials that will come back for her to enjoy. She seemed to be happy about that. I am tired of being still and I am ready to get creative. LOL.

☆★☆ Good Sunday morning! Hugs and a vote… 26 MPG winds! 44 degree’s but wind chill is 34. That is cold to us but compared to you folks in northern states it probably sounds warm-lol. I apologize for being a cry baby yesterday! I will get my” tech” stuff taken care of and I have a plan!!!
Yesterday made Deacon & I’s 6th anniversary together! It was cloudy after work but no winds and I did have to wear a jacket but it was pleasant outside so I haltered up each horse one at a time and took them to this spot that is about an 8’ by 12’ area that has a lot of green grass growing. It needed mowed so each horse got 5 minutes to eat! They were in HEAVEN!!!! Then I rode Deacon bareback with just his halter to celebrate our anniversary together. We walked, then trot and I backed him and side passed both directions. I repeated this about 3 times and then he gave me his famous kisses and I hugged him and turned him loose…he is such a smooth ride! Have a great day ♥

When Austin got home from school Monday, I asked how his day went. He replied somber. Said he wouldn't be needing the extra lunch he took to school everyday. His friend, Eric, who he shared with, committed suicide last Monday during spring break. I didn't know Eric, but felt I did through Austin. We're both having a hard time dealing with it. Austin more than me, of course. He said Eric was talented, funny and had a lot of potential. Heartbreaking. Saying a prayer for his family and all who've been hurt by this. Leaving a hug and a vote. Hey everybody!! Back from a long absence, it seems :) I missed you all and am ready to catch up on all the news around here.
I'm trying to think of all that happened since I was last on haha. Well, one day I really worked with Sweet Pea; not getting tense when I pick up the reins, responding better to leg cues (she's so oversensitive) and maintaining the speed I asked until I tell her to go faster/slower.
Another day, I rode with a group of 8 people to take a few horses to the farrier. I invited two people and it turned into a large group, but it was a lot of fun. I should get all the riding group to pose and get some pics so you know who I'm talking about when I ride w/ these people. They are all awesome :) The oldest is Sharon of course, and the next oldest is Josh, who is almost 17, then there's 3 bros, 14, 10, 7, and me and Alta (14) and Chris (14). And sometimes some other older girls and younger siblings come along. Its always a ton of fun, playing Ping-Pong and Dutch Blitz and of course riding!!
Am going to try a saddle on Flicka today, that Sharon bought for me, and I'm not sure if its too small. I'll post some pics if I remember to take some.
I've also been doing groundwork with the horses. Flicka's getting lots better at backing, but doesn't have very much energy yet :)
We are going on a all day ride on Tuesday, with about 8 or 9 people. Can't wait!! We are going to go after lunch and pack supper to eat on the trails. I just love all day rides. Hope Sweet Pea behaves though. I'll have to work w/ her again before that!!

It is nice and sunny today but only 15*. Earlier this morning I rode Misty and ponied Sierra for about an hour. Sierra was a bit fiesty at first but Misty was very patient with her and eventually she settled down. I am hoping to get a ride on Cherokee later.

Hi, left a vote, I have not been around this week except for HOTD and HOTM, I have decided that this full time job is really getting in the way of the stuff I want to do. We are pretty busy at work gearing up for Easter, it isn't a real big Turkey Holiday, but we still put in the OT. Greg was suppose to come and trim feet and show Charlie, but he had some problems in his day and bumped us until next week, I'm so glad, just too tired to do that tonight. Our yard is soaked after last nights rains! The daffodils still look so pretty!
After having the cold winter months off, Buttercup finally had some riding time this past weekend. She seemed to enjoy her short time under saddle. I think she will be ready for the trails come spring. NOw to just get Fancy ready! I look forward to seeing Fancy prancing in the sun when her ouchie is all healed.
We always build their riding times up during many short rides. Do you prepare your horse for hours of riding.

sorry for the long blog but it's worth the read
hello :)
i had a very busy weekend lol! i had to go to work as soon as i got out of school on friday at 4 to 10:30 pm and it was SLAMMED all night. then saturday i had my last SAT prep class from 8:30 am - 12:30. then i went home for like 15 minutes and then rachael (fynn's owner) came and picked me up and we went up to the catawba equestrian center where he is stabled and got him ready to leave for the House Mountain Show at the virginia horse center in lexington. then we left there at about 3 pm and headed to lexington. once we got there we got him settled in and unpacked, then rachael tacked him up and took him over to the main arena to school him some and get him used to the jumps and then we brought him back to his temporary stall and put him to bed for the night. (i uploaded a bunch of new photos of him and rachael riding him at the horse center and some from him at catawba before we left.) then we came home at about 9 saturday night and she went back up there again sunday to show him. but yesterday i went over to hollins college for their riding open house and man let me tell you....those horses are HUGE!!!! the smallest horse was maybe 16.2 hh. they're all ex-show horses that have been donated to the college. they all make ziggy look like a mini pony haha! i rode this massive white 17.2 hand horse that was like an extremely grown up version of fynn lol! his name was oyster pond but they called him oyster for short. his stride was massive as well haha but im pretty sure he was the slowest horse there! even with all the clucking, kissing, sqeezing, and smacks with the crop, nothing phased this horse. he just plodded along like he was doing his own thing. and then once i FINALLY got him cantering, he only cantered for like 3 strides and then stopped hahah so we called it a day after that but it was alot of fun in the end....even though my legs were burning like no other after all the sqeezing and kicking!
next week ziggy and some of the other horses at my trainers place are moving to another barn that's about the same distance from my house as they are now. so please keep them in your prayers....as you all know how tricky and stressful moving horses can be! haha sorry for the long blog but i hope you had a wonderful weekend :)

Fancy is leaving this Good night vote :)
Because my oldest son is now on his return trip to Afghanistan, it was real sweet to see Cowboy smile when I showed him his HOTD yesterday. Again, THANKS! Oh, I finally got photos from his visit added to Fancy’s page.
It has certainly been a lovely Carolina day! After church we ate and headed out for the day. I took care of Fancy & Trigger. Since Fancy can not go out I went for a bike ride. Fancy became very upset as she watched us leave. I was afraid she was going to hurt herself trying to get out. She remembers our walks! That made me feel bad to leave her. Since we have more daylight now, Fancy will have her walks soon. We don’t have to ride. I love taking walks with her. But there is no way I can handle Fancy and my bike at the same time.
I look forward to reading about your weekend. Do you have any fresh new horsey plans since the days are longer and the sun is shining stronger?

Angel H.T. is running for HOTM, please vote him!
Hi TJ, here's a vote for ya. So the stories of H.T. continue! Let's move onto 1997, he was a 5 year old and still has his rearing problem. I knew a trainer about 2 hours from me that has cured horses of rearing and many other things. He's kind and gently, but gets the point across. I sent H.T. to him in March and he said I'll see ya in two weeks, you won't be riding till then. You can come and visit him and watch, but I'll be doing all the riding. I couldn't believe in a weeks time even the difference in his way of going and didn't see any signs of abuse! So whatever Bobby did and was doing it was working!
Went down today to ride Paige, she was a little up today, yesterday was her day off and she's usually a little marey on the first day back to work. But she was good for me, better than for Karen! She says, I like my mommy! LOL!
Got home and got the other two to the indoor, it was 55 degrees out and sunny. But the temps will be going back down over the next couple of days. UGH!
