Hey!! It is Lara & Mac here!! Well I am sooo sorry we have not been on HC very much this past year and we had a very busy school year that is now coming to an end and we will have some more time for horse channel!! Now is the best part of the year when school comes to an end and horse shows kick it into full gear!!
Anyways so I will update you on me and Mac’s progress so far this year, we started off the winter riding only once a week and that was going really good, Mac was accomplishing sooo much!! Then it came time for the annual awards banquet which is head every year and me and Mac did wonderful winning 5 championship provincial awards and 3 jr champion zone awards, which is wonderful!! Since we did so well in our province we are trying to qualify for the Saskatchewan Summer Games in Dressage!! It is a big job but we hope we make the team!!! Now we are riding twice/three times a week to train hard for the Summer Games and the upcoming filled summer of horse shows!! So wish us luck and we hope we do well!!

Hey! Lol well I guess it's hard to change the way he is when he's already 16. At least you can laugh about it. I bet you were pretty bummed about your jeans. Hello, so I never got to go in the extreme cowboy race. :( didn't even get to watch. lol Had to work and ended up with no saddle or horse to use. Oh well. Maybe next time I wasn't at all mentally prepared anyway. :) I told my palo paint filly in to a horse show for western pleasures 5 and under. We got 4th and 2nd. : ) It was pretty exciting. A Sunday hello. I got Defender fly masks on sale from Horse.com. Sadie's is large because she has a big head. It's a little big on her. I'm surprised it's still on. Didn't want to put one on Star because of her limited eye sight, but the flies here are ugly. Will take a picture of them. Star still has a long way to go on gaining weight. Hugs and a Sunday vote. The dust storms happen every summer. A Semi flipped over on the interstate next to where I work Tuesday night after running into the back of an suv. Haven't heard about the injuries. Hope they were minor. I could see lights from the accident but nothing else.....Solar panels are great. All you have to do is rinse them off when they get dirty. Ours will be off for the next week, or so, because the relay switch broke during the storm. Seems the switch was too small.... Started the girls on their Psyllium treatments Thursday evening. Instead of twice a day, I give it to them once in the evening with a sweet feed mix. I only give Sadie about a third of the feed I give Star. Sadie doesn't need to gain weight... Way too hot to ride. Hey guys! It's been so hot & humid down here on Sundance Ranch. Ugh.. I sweat just thinking about riding in this weather! The horses are all pretty grumpy too so I'm trying to limit the rides to 15-30 minutes. Thinking about heading out to catch a couple and ride for an hour or so. Hopefully I'll be able to get some of the horses out on the trails soon. I've only been to one rodeo this summer so far, but I have a few more in my schedule. I hope everyone is having a good, safe and vet-free horsey summer despite the crazy weather! Left a vote!

We went into town Wednesday and stopped by Ace Hardware. I priced dewormers and Senior feed for Star. Rick's stopping by this morning to pick it up for me. Yay! QUESTION: Do you deworm a horse on an empty stomach? I was told dewormer doesn't work if a horse is full or eating. Thanks. Hugs and a Thursday vote. Had a good morning. A horse trainer friend came out with 2 bales of hay he sold me for $5 each. He liked Sadie. Had his own saddle with him and used it to ride her. He said she's a good horse which makes me happy and liked my saddle. Didn't like the bridle, tho'. She was so good for him.... I let Sadie and Star out of the corral. The first time since before my trip. They're enjoying the freedom...Buying dewormer Thursday and psyllium pellets next week. Hugs and a late Monday vote.
