My Horse's Achievements: She learned to be ridden in 2008 at the age of fourteen. In 2009 we rode in W.V., Va, Pa, Oh, Ill. Ind., Ia, S.D., N.D.,Mn,Wi,Mi, Oh and back to Pa. We rode high mountain trails, along freeways, thru herds of buffalo, across narrow and open grate bridges and through rushing rivers, streams. Ellie never once refused. In fact, she acts like I would expect a woman who has raised a large family from a young age. Then, when the children are grown, she goes back to school and develops a career. Ellie is so excited and happy to go out and do her new found activity that she really loves. Being a Mom is great and she is a good Mom but she is a great trail horse!
My Horse's Favorite Treat: Apples, carrots, horse treats, sugar cubes, oat cookes.
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Trail ride! After years of being "just a broodmare" Ellie learned to be ridden. She absolutely loves it. Ellie can't wait to see what is around the next corner and will go absolutely anywhere I ask her to go.
Pet Peeves: Ellie is very sensitive to loud, rough handling. She does not do anything wrong and does not deserve to be yelled at or treated roughly. She tends to avoid rough, loud people.
My Horse's motto: All training it to a horse or human is habit. Get in the habit of doing everything the right way.
