How We Met
My mom used to show her Appaloosa when she was young, after not having horses for many years because of having children, she and I decided to stop at the local stable.
Found! 2 year old, scared Appy, standing in the corner of his stall, oozing with Strangles. The most calm, feel sorry for horse you'd ever seen. He was on his way to the sale barn, but we bought him instead. After months of healing, gaining about 150 lbs, and trusting that we werent going to hurt him. He all of a sudden turned into this wild crazy young horse, but eventually learned what we wanted him to do, and have gotten along ever since. That was 13 years ago. I was 13 years old, now he is only mine, (my mom has steel rods in her back, and riding was eventually not possible). He is my best friend, and the best listener ever, I'm so lucky to have been one of those little girls who wanted a horse, and actually got one. I have such a deep respect for any animal, and having a horse allows me to fullfil my animal whisperer, like, tendancies. :).

The History on the Gypsy Beauties
The earliest records of multi-colored horses (such as the gypsy horse) are from cave drawings estimated to be approximately 20,000 years old. In past times, such multi-colored horses were believed to be omens of good fortune.
The association of the Rom with horses is almost legendary. By tradition, the gypsy horse is involved in each and every aspect of family life...faithfully pulling the vardo by day, yet sufficiently amenable and patient to be the gentle mount of gypsy children when the day is done. Often staked out alongside the road with the family wagon in all types of weather when not "on the move," the gypsy horse lives and thrives for the most part by partaking of the grasses which happen to be growing where it is tethered. Sick. Still.
Another day at home. Hoping that I will feel better by the end of the day so I can head out to the barn. The sun hasn’t risen yet but it looks like another dreary day. Oh well. But I finally won Whinny Warz! LOL.
