It is ok to say ‘I love you’ before tragedy strikes.

Enjoyed my Fancy time, early this morning. We practiced for showmanship and barrels. Then I let her enjoy the pretty greens in the back yard. I could not believe she was being so good after not being ridden for so many weeks. Trigger ate in peace while Fancy was out with me. Then he screamed his head off for Fancy to return. Fancy and Trigger enjoyed some carrots before I left them to their own devices. I can’t wait till tomorrow!

GOOD MORNING ALL, LEFT YOU A VOTE. Today's story is my personal favorite, here it is. Lessons were going well, we were becoming quite comfortable with one another, she loved her trot poles and her friend Doolie. She was learning to flex and bend but our canter was pretty rough. Sterl would anticipate my asking and she would throw herself into it off her front, not pretty. Our instructor said if we start her on some small jumps it will help her learn to use her hind end. Sterl was already a bit of a "wonder horse" around the barn. Lots of the other riders would chuckle "you can't ride a Standardbred" We practiced our two point, our release on the flat then, when we were ready we planned to jump next lesson. Word spread thru the barn like wildfire "she is going to jump that horse, Standardbred's can't jump" So, here we are next lesson, Val has a couple of TINY xrails set up, Sonya and Doolie were there, I was as nervous as can be. We do our warm up, get sort of relaxed, just then I notice that quite a crowd has gathered at the rail. They are all there to see a Standardbred jump. I trot around the arena, line up, get in two point, get ready for my release,PANIC..I turn my head to the right and CLOSE MY EYES... when I opened them we were on the other side of the jump, STERLY DID IT, Standardbred's can jump. FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS: Happy Mother's Day!!!
I have an aunt that has her birthday the day after my birthday, this month. My mom & I spent time with her today because she is in the hospital after falling out of bed. She seems to be ok. But I did not have a lot of Fancy time today. I am looking forward to my time with Fancy. Our weather today was cloudy, finally the rains came in.

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS: “A mother understands what a child does not say” (unknown)

Are you finally enjoying spring? We went out of town last night to help a friend. It was soo late when we returned I had to call it a night. Fancy is ready for fun. She lets me know she wants an outing by neighing to me when I go outside for any reason. I tried to get some help taking the cart out, but no help just yet. I am giving my mom flowers for Mother's Day, perennials that will come back for her to enjoy. She seemed to be happy about that. I am tired of being still and I am ready to get creative. LOL.

FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS: “Always drink upstream from the herd.” (unknown)

Fancy & Trigger had their farrier trip this week. Great news, the farrier said Fancy's heel looks normal and you can't even tell it was wounded! We can begin riding when it is not so muddy in the corral. I am going to ride her for short periods of time before we ride out. I want to be sure both Fancy and I are ready when we ride out. And we can use this time to get ready for the horseshow this month. I want to try our first time at showmanship. ♥

I can't believe that today is Fancy's 5th birthday, I did not spend special time with her today because it is damp, cold, and windy outside. I did spend a few minutes with her after church. I also
spent time just watching Fancy and Trigger. There is plenty of hay to share, but Fancy was chasing Trigger away from the hay. He would pin his ears to look like he was about to make a deal of it, but he still just ran off.
I think my wrist are improving, but still not 100%. I am still having some weird feelings here and there. I appreciate Fancy's HOTM and I will vote and blog much as I can.

Dear Horse Owner:
Are you experiencing too many second and third finishes behind inferior horses at horse shows? During a trail ride, does your horse forget everything he was bred to do?
Well, this simple chain letter is meant to bring relief and happiness to you. Unlike most chain letters, it doesn't cost any money.
Simply send a copy to six other horse owners who are dissatisfied with the way that their horse is behaving. Also, bundle up your horse and send him/her to the horse owner at the top of list, and add your name to the bottom of the list. Do not use a return address or the post office may try to contact you.
In one week you should receive 16,436 horses, and at least one of them should be a keeper.
Have faith in this. Do not break the chain. One owner broke the chain and got his own horse back.

I am so happy to be able to blog and vote! Saturday I got my job list caught up and the brace is helping with the swelling, pain, & numbness. I have missed interacting with you all. I will blog and vote often as I can depending on my physical situation.

Saturday afternoon we went to the farm to take pics of my brothers and their friend as they rode out. I rode Buttercup in the field, well, my brother lead me on her. When he got her she did not like anyone. Now, she knows who he is and she only wants to listen to him! I could not ride her without him leading her. I did not want to get into a tussle with her either because my wrist are weak. I did enjoy the short ride in the field though!!!

Fancy's wound continues to improve. I was afraid to let her get her kicks out, but I let her out for a while Friday. She ran! Bucked, kicked, & ran more! There was NO limping, no swelling, no bleeding. I did put some bell boots on her before I let her out. Does any one know if it is ok to allow her to wear bell boots all day or night? I took them off when I put her back in the stall. The bell boots covers that wound so I think they will help if I leave her out. I don't know anything about bell boots because I have never used them.

If you saw our last video, don't worry, Fancy was not in any danger. Fancy has been goin up them stairs since she was 10 months old. When we go there more often she walks up them better than I do. They are in the park and there is grass on both sides. I never let her walk down. I think the pool noodle getting under her leg made her feel funny because the first time she was unsure. After I
placed that noodle back at her side she was ok.

Have you ever heard of Underwoods Horse medicine or ever used it? I was going to get a picture of Fancy's wound, but it just has a scab on it. She is not showing any signs of lameness. I know Fancy will run, kick, & buck up a storm so I leave her in the stall to keep her from aggravating that wound before the new flesh grows in.

Hi guys! Here is a vote during the first time I have really sat still in days. I am so proud of my son. He shared some private videos and images from his job. His job is very important in protecting our military members during incoming attacks and those attacks happen much more often than we would ever imagine.
I was hoping to get some pics of him and Cowboy with the horses, but our ground was too saturated and the weather was cold. Now it is very windy and the ground is still saturated.
We shared many family activities! But during this visit, I could actually stay on my feet during the skating! Cowboy received more gifts than during all his Christmases put together. And Cowboy was the top of his game when his big brother came to eat school lunch with him!

Thanks for still visiting our pages this week, & thanks for watching our video. I plan to load our next ground driving video next week, and it will be a bit more interesting! I have still voted contest each day and watch your videos too! You know I can't stay away from HC totally! I just did not have the time for all of my usual activities.

I almost forgot, my son saw our Veterans Day page, He loves it! He enjoyed all of your photos showing support for the military. Thanks guys! I hope you feel free to share that page with your military family member too!

Today is the last day this week that I will be able to leave normal daily blogs and votes for a few days. My oldest son is visiting from Kabul. We pick him up at the airport Sunday!!! Hope you are having a great day! We had a horseclub meeting tonight and that was about the only thing (besides if I had a chance to ride) that would lift my spirits. I am sorry, many things have worn me down this past few days. When it rains it pours. Not being in control of my child's safety is very upsetting to me. I have been attacked in the past, but that did not involve my child, so it did not bother me, it was easy to turn from it. I hope none of your families have to deal with such messes.
The horse club meeting was wonderful! I feel peaceful now.

Fancy has cabin fever like never before!!! Trigger will stand beside the stall gate to be near Fancy. He went to stand there while she was eating her grain and she tried to kick him. She seems to get angry when he is eating hay and she can't stop him. I can just tell what she is thinking. She wants to boss him around so bad! Trigger has the chance to not be beat up and bossed around but, when I tie Fancy out to clean her stall, Trigger stands right at her hip and sniffs her botty. He must be some kind of crazy!

Well, on top of all the things I have to deal with, today when we go to pay on Cowboy's lunch, I am taken into the office by the school police. I have been falsely accused of harassing and following one of those facebook meanies home from school. I don't think the school police officer appeared to believe me. I can not understand that. I have never spoken to any one of those children. I am soo tired of these evil children.

Other wise, life goes on.

Fancy is really pawing you a vote tonight. I mean for real. LOL! She still has those feet into every thing. I put the water and food bucket that she uses when she is out, into the stall with her. I thought that might help her. She seemed happier eating out of the bucket instead of the feeder on the wall.
I tried a hay bag instead of hay net and I posted photos of what she did to it after only one night! She ripped it front and back. Ok, we can't use a hay net, can't use a hay bag.
I also posted a photo of her heel bulb injury from the first day. She cut if from the top down. The part that she cut began to dry up and wither, so I removed it and I try to keep it clean with meds on it. I will be glad when she is all healed and I don't have to keep her in the stall.

Friday in N Carolina was 60% and lovely. Today was in the 40's and snowing! The snow melted when it hit the ground It was pretty, but can you imagine 60 one day and snowing the next.

Fancy had to find something to put her feet in last night. This time it was the feed bucket that is bolted to the wall. I remember when she was a yearling, I was on my way out, and I looked to check on her, she was standing with both front feet in the feet bucket that is bolted on the wall. My husband had a field day with that one! I thought I would never hear the end of that.
Fancy puts her feet in the water, and I have to put her grain in a deep bucket to keep her feet out. She has done this every since I have had her.
Does any one know why a horse would have such a strong inclination to put it's feet into every thing? Does any of your horses do this?

Poor little Trigger stands there and looks at Fancy like perhaps he finds her amusing.
Since Fancy is in the stall Trigger sure does poop all over the place. I think Fancy made him poop in certain areas. Now Sir Poops a Lot is free to poop where ever he wants.

I don't see a lot of activity for your HOTM run. Visit some other pages and get to know a lot of other HC members and they will visit Doobie's page and help you get HOTM.

Yesterday I cleaned Fancy's stall then took her into the back yard for a while. Fancy enjoyed what grass she could find while I cleaned her wound and applied meds. The wound looks healthy and clean. I hung her hay net high as I could because I know she puts her feet into EVERYTHING!
About an hour later it was time for after school pic-up. looked out to check on Fancy before leaving. Can you guess what I saw???? Fancy standing beside the gate with one foot high as my shoulder. Fancy looked at me like she was saying, "How about come help me out here"
I took nippers thinking I would have to cut it. I was able to unfasten it and lower it to the ground then lift her foot out. No more hay net for Miss Fancy Feet!

Fancy’s cut was looking nice until after last night’s rains. We are expecting more rain tonight, so Fancy is in the stall now, hopefully to stay clean and dry so her cut can heal.
Monday evening the sheriff/detective was able to get that fake FB profile page of Cowboy deleted. It was very tough to accomplish because FB has recently made it hard for law enforcement to deal with. It turned out the little girl that liked him was the one who made the page because Cowboy did not want to date her. Now these children are only 11 and 12 years old. What is the world coming to. The sherriff/ detective talked to her parents also. During this time the girl tried to say Cowboy was bothering her so she made the page. But she exposed her true intentions on the page before it was all over. Today at school, She had the nerve to approach him to tell him she was not happy about being exposed. I told him not to even hold a conversation with her.
Well that is enough Cowboy drama! I don’t want any more of that!
