Hi! Heres a vote, thank you so so so so so (...) much for showing your support for Hollywood this month. Even when I can't get on, you still come by, thanks for that :) Today was the start to our winter I guess. Its all cold and winter-y. It just hit us and now it will probably take about 4 days to get used to it. LOL! This week is going to be exciting, my Biblestudy group starts, it is soo much fun. I can't wait. I get half a day for that on Wednesday. Then my favorite TV show is coming out with I think its 10 season. So stoked about that :) Anyways, thats my week, and it all is following school. Hehe! After Austin and I got back Monday from picking up a bale of hay, I opened the gate so I could drive around back. I saw the road runner running from the back of the corral out into the desert behind our property. He must like horses, too. He likes to stay by the hay as if watching them. He's about a foot tall and has a spikey hairdo. He always has access to water. I keep the dogs' pool filled. Pidgeons and other birds enjoy the pool, too. Why he had to try the water trough is beyond me. Road runners eat snakes, lizards, scorpions, rodents and other birds as well. During the winter months, they live on whatever vegetation they can find. And they are fast. Coyotes use to come up the water tank, about 2 acres from my house, when it leaked for a drink of water. I guess road runners get their name from all the running they do. I've seen them run across the highway. The dogs are in their dog house with the ac on when it's enjoying the back yard. Don't know what he'll do when the weather cools down enough not to run the dog's ac. They'll be out of the doghouse then. But since they don't like to stay in the yard, he should be free to stay. Today is suppose to be the hottest this week. Suppose to cool down to 112* by Saturday. From October thru May, the weather here is nice. The girls are doing okay. They have plenty of water. I let them out of the corral Wednesday evening, and Sadie ran and kicked up her heels. She stuck her wet nose to my ear being socialable. Star has such limited sight. Wearing a flymask at night makes it even harder for her to see. Poor girl. She followed my voice to the water trough she was having trouble finding. She gets around good. She may have been a little thrown off, because Sadie was close by and makes her nervous, because Sadie's bossy....Please pray for Lara and Mac's grandfather who's in the hospital. Hugs and a vote. today i'm featuring the famous paint horse hidalgo on my page. my paint horse, smooch is a solid paint horse, used to be called breeding stock paint but they changed it a few years back. they originate from mustang and quarter horse crosses. smooch actually has alot of thoroughbred in his ancestry through Danger Boy II, a quarterhorse that traces back to the great race horse, Eclipse. Sadie's doing good. Just not sure why she's so itchy. Just dewormed the girls, again last week. Was hoping that would stop it. I have field fencing. No barbed wire. And Wonder Dust is good, Just doesn't taste it. Can't describe the scent. Not strong.... I let the girls out, again, today and made sure Sadie stayed off the fence. She ran, bucked and kicked. I let Sadie and Star out of the corral Monday to stretch their legs. Sadie was rubbing on the wire fence we have around the property and scratched herself below her neck. I used Wonder Dust on the wounds and accidentally inhaled some. I have a sore throat now. Yuck. The Wonder Dust helps keep flies out of wounds, too. Hugs and a Wednesday vote. today i'm going to hitch godiva to our NEW HARNESS! i'm so excited to be able to drive again! my synthetic harness broke and i couldn't find anyone to fix it. i got a leather this time so that won't happen again. i posted a new pic of hershey at the bottom. he's the first pic. i took it after his ventral edema from pigeon fever went away. he looks good for an old man! hehe.

Dewormed the girls today. It was a battle, but got it done. Rick got on Sadie bareback, and using only her halter and lead rope, rode her around the corral. Impressive. He has a gift. And she's only been ridden with a saddle. He hopped up on Star and sat for a few seconds. She stood still for him. Got to keep fattening her up. Hi! Thanks for stopping by, heres a vote for you. I will be officially offline this week-end. For I will be going down to Roseburg to visit my family. My cousin just got back from the air force, and my great grandma is coming down. We will have the whole family, beside about 3 people. They're will be one person that I haven't met in my life that is part of my dad's family, that is coming down. Can't wait to meet her.~~Oh, if there is a photo of Quincy that you haven't seen before, that is because I either never really liked it and didn't post it, or I found it somewhere. Just so you know. I have not yet been to see Quincy in a long time. We have been really busy~~ The forecast here has been really nice, its been jumping between the lower and upper 80s. Heres a weird thing that my dad told me the other night. Since we are just starting to get our summer weather here in Oregon, it has NOT been like this since...ready? 1930s..or somewhere in the 1900s. But, that is just craziness. Just waiting for the weather to cool. About 6 to 8 weeks more of ugly heat. No rain. Just hard winds and dust. Some people are riding, but if it's too hot for me, it's too hot for Sadie. Today I will be featuring Billy in my blog.
Breed - ½ quarter horse ½ morgan
Age - I think he is 16 but don’t know for sure
Personality - Billy is very calm and sweet
Coloring - Billy is a chestnut with a flaxen mane and tail. He is easy to distinguish in the pasture with a crooked blaze. He also has two white socks on his back legs.
Billy is a great horse, when riding on the sensory (a gravel trail with stations for the students to stop at) he prefers not to walk on the gravel. Billy can carry small children and adults, from the beginning rider to an experienced rider. Billy is often on the slow side but will speed up if you ask. He is a great horse and the students benefit from having him in the program.
