Thanks for replying. That is really making me lean toward Parelli. It's really about the money for me. I don't want to spend a ton of money and then find out that I really don't like it. But I've been told that "not liking it" won't be a factor. I'm able to work with Casper most days. I'm searching eBay for a used Parelli complete kit. Thanks for the input! Come visit me, Casper, Ginger & Lorelai Valentine.

Parelli Are you enjoying Parelli so far? I've been thinking about starting it. I went to a demo last year when they had it literally ten minutes away. I was only able to go the second day, though, since I had just gotten home from vacation the first day. Well, bye!Come visit me, Casper, Ginger & Lorelai Valentine.

Using Parelli Had a blast down at the Pat Parelli demo in Madison on June 30-July 1. We were there from 9:30-5:30 on Sat. and 9:30-3:00 on Sunday. Did I ever learn alot! I also bought Levels 1 and 2 plus the tools they used. I wanted to use it on Diamond because ever since I got her back from the people who had her for a year, all the training I did in the previous years seems to have disappeared. She's spooky, nervous, and doesn't trust me anymore. Plus, I had to give her penicillan shots for a week and that didn't help. Finally, she will come up to me again and let me rub her all over, she still hates the Parelli carrot stick, but we'll get past that soon, I'm sure. I have her entered in the UP State Fair in August. I'm going to show her in Showmanship and the speed events and my 12 year old son, Cruz, is going to show her in Showmanship and Horsemanship 9-12. I've been letting her abscess heal and haven't ridden her in about 2 months but I think today is the day. It's supposed to get to 80 today so I'll wait until later this afternoon, early evening. I'll keep all of you posted on how the Parelli training is going.Come visit me, Novas Sierra Myst, Felice Magali & Diamond.

Good Ride yesterday It was beautiful out when I got out of work at 5 yesterday. I took Diamond on a 3 mile ride and except for a few attempts to turn back, things went pretty good. Oh, except the screw on the rein came out so I had to tie the rein to the bit. I just thank God that I was walking when it happened, not cantering. I think I'll go again tonite if the weather holds.Come visit me, Novas Sierra Myst, Felice Magali & Diamond.

Pat Parelli tickets Just got back from the Midwest Horse Fair yesterday. There was a Parelli booth and the lady asked me if I was going to the Parelli demo June 30-July 1. I said I'd like to but the tickets were a little out of my pocket. They are $119 at the door, $65 in advance. Well, she pulled out tickets and gave me 2 free ones! I think my mouth dropped open. On Sat. we went past the booth again and a gentleman asked me if I wanted tickets so I got 3 more so I could take my family. Talk about pumped up!! I can't wait for the demo, should learn alot since it goes from 9:30-5pm both days!!Come visit me, Novas Sierra Myst, Felice Magali & Diamond.

Midwest Horse Fair Well, I haven't gone in 2 years but the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison, WI is this weekend. The only place where for 3 days you mingle with about 10,000 other horse crazy people and they don't think you're nuts! My mom and my friend, Nikki are going with. Should be fun. Cleve Wells will be there plus alot of other clinicians. Reminds me, I have to go plot out our itinerary.Come visit me, Novas Sierra Myst, Felice Magali & Diamond.

Tailbone is out of whack!! Yesterday was NOT a good riding day! It started with my 17 year old friend Nikki, not wanting to ride her horse, Kit, because he wouldn't let her mount. Soooo, she ended up riding Diamond. Of course, as soon as I got on Kit, she started bucking which of course, I didn't let her get away with. We both started out riding and about a mile away, Diamond started giving Nikki a lot of trouble, which was unusual. She kept whirling around, trying to go back home. So, Nikki took Kit home and I got on Diamond cuz there was NO WAY she was getting away with this. I rode her about another mile as she was all "snort & blow." As I turned her around, I switched to the other side of the road and found out what might have been spooking her. There was a set of BIG bear tracks on the shoulder of the road. Silly me, thank God I didn't ride the path there. But, my tailbone was still sore from Saturday's ride and Kit's bucking plus Diamond's prancing makes for a very sore tailbone.Come visit me, Novas Sierra Myst, Felice Magali & Diamond.

Blue Monday I call it "Blue Monday" because it was a beautiful day and I was cooped up all day at work and then after work I had to go to a meeting an hour away. Didn't get out of there until after 10pm so no riding today. But, I have my first CT ride Memorial Day weekend, lots of conditioning to get in.Come visit me, Novas Sierra Myst, Felice Magali & Diamond.

Diamond and the other 3 horses Diamond was gone for about a year while I couldn't ride. When I got her back she was very nervous, spooky and untrusting. It broke my heart that she was treated that way but we've come along way for me to earn her trust back. She used to be an Alpha mare but now she's at the bottom of the heap and is always being bullied by the other horses. It's like she's lost her self-confidence, kind of like myself after I suffered a stroke in Nov. of 2003.Come visit me, Novas Sierra Myst, Felice Magali & Diamond.
