I've been looking for a great horse for a while and one of my friends who has trained horses forever trained Abby and new she was looking for a home so I drove all the way down to Alabama and looked at her and it was love at first sight I knew that she was the horse I was looking for.....

How are you doing? I'm so sorry that I haven't been on HC much the past month. I had just got caught up with my blogs after my biking accident when guess what! I did it again. Only this time it was from Prince. I went all out this time. On Thursday the 11th of August, I was riding Prince and telling my friend who was riding Eddie that Prince just didn't feel right that evening. He was acting up and I thought I could perhaps slowly work out his kinks. We went over a couple of jumps and suddenly upon landing the jump his head went down, his hind end went up and he had a major bucking fit. I wasn't prepared and went flying off. (Draught horses may be big but they're no less agile and athletic!) I remember falling but I don't remember landing. The next thing I remember is being surrounded by paramedics and being rushed by ambulance to the ER. In fact I hear now that the entire Fire department, both ambulances, tons of private cars, and the sheriff were all there. Excitement in a small town? Anyway, they asked me some really difficult questions. Like what's your name? Your DOB? Any allergies? Not easy questions in the best of circumstances but I did my best. I guess I was knocked out for about 10 minutes till anyone could get any response and then I drifted in and out for a long time afterwards. And vomiting for a couple of days. It was a horrible experience and even now I still can't think quite straight but it's getting better. The doctor doesn't want me riding for at least a month or two. I guess another blow to my head really could be my last. I've been driving Pippin and I've driven Prince once. I'll drive him again tomorrow. Pippin is doing great. This time last year he started swelling all over. I sure hope that it doesn't happen again. So far so good. Here's a vote for you and it's great to be finally catching up on HC. With my 3 profiles I have a combined 8 pages to catch up on! P.S. Acorn, a baby squirrel we rescued last year just had her 1st anniversary. She would love a visit if you feel so inclined. i had a flat tire on my cart and couldn't go on my cart ride yesterday. pippin sent me instructions on how to replace the tube so we'll see if i can fix it today! i posted 2 pics of godiva, my shetland, in the new harness headstall. it is fancier than what i ordered and has some patent leather on it. :) i groomed sing and pulled her mane to spiff her up a bit. we just worked at walk due to the extremem heat. practiced backing and turns on haunches.
