Your Horse is Lovely!
Goldy's a real beauty. I love Arabians, and Goldy has the unmistakeable stamp of an Arabian. He's such a gorgeous color. I love the photos of him running at the bottom. I left you a vote!Come visit me, Wizard & ~Luna~.

How are you doing? I'm so sorry that I haven't been on HC much the past month. I had just got caught up with my blogs after my biking accident when guess what! I did it again. Only this time it was from Prince.
I went all out this time. On Thursday the 11th of August, I was riding Prince and telling my friend who was riding Eddie that Prince just didn't feel right that evening. He was acting up and I thought I could perhaps slowly work out his kinks.
We went over a couple of jumps and suddenly upon landing the jump his head went down, his hind end went up and he had a major bucking fit. I wasn't prepared and went flying off. (Draught horses may be big but they're no less agile and athletic!) I remember falling but I don't remember landing. The next thing I remember is being surrounded by paramedics and being rushed by ambulance to the ER.
In fact I hear now that the entire Fire department, both ambulances, tons of private cars, and the sheriff were all there. Excitement in a small town?
Anyway, they asked me some really difficult questions. Like what's your name? Your DOB? Any allergies? Not easy questions in the best of circumstances but I did my best. I guess I was knocked out for about 10 minutes till anyone could get any response and then I drifted in and out for a long time afterwards. And vomiting for a couple of days.
It was a horrible experience and even now I still can't think quite straight but it's getting better. The doctor doesn't want me riding for at least a month or two. I guess another blow to my head really could be my last. I've been driving Pippin and I've driven Prince once. I'll drive him again tomorrow.
Pippin is doing great. This time last year he started swelling all over. I sure hope that it doesn't happen again. So far so good.

My owner was leading her 4-H steer around and he freaked out because the pigs were causing a ruckus and he got away from her and it took like 10 minutes and three people to get him caught again! I thought it was suspicious and started prancing around and snorting, like when I see snow for the first time! Dolly cared nothing-she was just eating grass-so I made her care! I started pushing her around, but she's used to it, after all, I am the lead mare.

Thank you so much for congratulating Pippin on his win for horse of the day. I stopped by earlier with my congrats for you too! It's always nice when it's a surprise. To celebrate I gave Pippin a thorough wash, cleaned all his harness, and took some video of him running in the forest. He's looking great in his summer coat and he has many new spots again this year. Especially on his face.
A couple of dogs, including Melian, and one of the cats got washed too. I guess it was wash day!
Pippin is a really good boy. We had him loose in our unfenced half of the property yesterday so we could film him and he took off a couple of times with Melian at his heels but came right back when we called him. It was about 100 degrees but he was reasonably patient and reared for pieces of bread, played dead, and rolled around on the gravel. I think he has resigned himself to the fact that he lives with weird people and he just has to go along with them!
