Turkatune I have a Thoroughbred mare who paws like that at her food and water too.. In fact before I had her she did so the night before a race, bowed her tendon and ended her track career. Welcome to HorseChannel! My horse does the same with the water trough, how do you keep anything in it? LOL! Fancy likes to turn them over and play jug music on the bottom.
