Type of Riding: english riding, some jumping and just pleasure hack. We started dressage spring 2012, it seems to be more our "thing", Charlie can be a bit lazy and although I wanted to jump, he isn't really into it.
My Horse's Achievements: when our 29 year old mare was stalled for 10 days due to a strained tendon, Charlie stayed beside her stall door for the entire 10 days to keep her company. He has such a caring nature. He was HOTD October 24, 2011. He was proud to be HOTM April 2012. He got HOTD for a second time October 25, 2012
My Horse's Favorite Treat: carrots, apples, actually anything to eat, his appetite is great, recently found out they both LOVE pears.
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: he loves to have his neck and belly scratched, he would stand there as long as you could do it.
Pet Peeves: He hates to get wet, eg. the rain, snow, he will tolerate a bath, but it is not fun!!
My Horse's motto: it's all about me, everybody loves Charlie.

How We Met
About 1 1/2 years after the heartbreak of losing my horse, Sassy Mac (Mackie) due to heart failure, he has a profile page Angel Sassy Mac. I started to look for a new horse with the help of my coach. I looked at probably 25 horses, everything I tried was nice, but nothing really got me excited. Finally my coach told me the problem was I was trying to replace Mackie, and that was never going to happen. She said I had to just pick a horse and fall in love with it after I got it home. I took offence to that remark, I have always believed that when the connection is there, you will know. I was not prepared to "just pick one" so I decided to stop looking for awhile. Two days later my coach called and told me about a horse she wanted me to see. I said NO, she proceded to tell me about him anyway, first, he was only 6, too young, he was a Thoroughbred, I didn't want a Thoroughbred and he was 16.2, he was a bit bigger than I wanted. But she insisted, the horse was fairly close to home, so I agreed to just go and look. I know some of you will understand this, when I walked into his stall and our eyes met. The connection was instant. It was the feeling I had been waiting for. I could not believe it, I forgot that he was big, and a Thoroughbred, I rode him that morning and fell in love. I called our Vet the minute I got home and asked for the pre purchase exam, Charlie was delivered the next week. He is just a very amazing horse. Love at first sight, it does happen!!

Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Well it's stormy days here! I did get a nice, really nice ride in on Piage, but just as we went from the indoor into the barn, the first clap of thunder hit and hit hard. Glad we were inside, it made Paige a little on edge! Then the rains came. I left about an hour later for the dentist and drove into sunshine and hot and sticky temps. Of course driving home I could see the black clouds over the mountain on which I live. Sure enough, less than a mile from the house, the heavens opened up and it was like a monsoon! Had to sit in my truck in the driveway for like 15 minutes for it to let up. Have washout gullys down to the barn again. Man the tractor and fix them when it dries up! Love, Marion and the blondies. I’m Back in the USA ! Had a beautiful flight but tired going from work straight to airport so felt asleep immediately after lunch service! Definitely not a party animal anymore,LOL! Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Got a ride in on Paige today. She was very good, and considering that about 30 minutes into our ride and training session, it started to thunder really bad. I stayed with riding till after the third really big blast of rolling thunder, then decided I didn't need to test the footing and see if the landing area was soft or not. Paige never did offer to spook, but I wasn't about to take that chance. I got off and cooled her down doing showmanship work, cause it was pouring outside and I didn't want to get soak-n-wet and get my saddle wet either. It lasted about half an hour. Farrier coming back in a little while to do Indy and Bullseye tonight. He ran out of time the other night, he was late getting here and it was like 9 pm when he finished with Paige. Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Got a short ride in today. Had some people stop over to look at my smaller goose neck trailer that I have up for sale. Seems like they were just kicking tires, wanted to give me a ton less than it's worth! No Deal! Mowed two pastures and weed wacked them. Kids were out, then gave them baths it was so warm and humid!
I just found out that friends of mine were close to Okalahoma City when they broke down with the horse trailer and had to get repair work done. Otherwise they would have been in the middle of it. that hoof looks wonderful. kudos to your farrier. thanks for looking at peek's video. she just seems so tired to me. she's breathing hard, too. it's hot and she's got the long coat. i'll be working on that a bit each and every day. Come visit me, Sing & Herd.

Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Oh WOW, that hoof is looking great, one more shoeing and it'll be all new and you'll never know it happened. Looking very good! It was everyone's day off today. I did some errands, and then don't ya know it. It cleared up and the sun came out and so did the high humidity! But at least I got the lawn mowed and the kids got outside time in their pastures. Now I'm waiting on my farrier, Paige needs to be done, Bullseye needs a trim and Indy has to be checked, he might be able to go another week! Love ya, Marion and the blondies. Fancy and I enjoyed a cloudy evening! We were overdue for this show practice and time just hanging out. Fancy did not freet for Trigger one bit, even though Trigger screamed murder every time we got out of his sight. We are expecting rains and clouds all week. But the weekend may be nice. We will try to practice a little each day. It was so much fun! And today was the first day Fancy was ridden since her heel injury. She was great. Like she never missed a beat. I am glad I did not rush her.

Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Got a super nice ride on Pagie today, used her show bit, haven't had it in her mouth for like two weeks now, she really sets that head and stays in it. Then lunged Indy and did some shwomanship work with him. Then the fun job, de-furing Bullseye, he really needs his body clip, but we haven't had warm enough weather to give him a good bath first. I would ruin two, not one pair of clipper blades doing him! Plus with the nights going down into the 40's and the barn dropping down under 60 degrees, I don't want him to get chilled. Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Well I got my ride in on Paige and a couple of outside things done before the rains came in! And from the looks of the weather reports, right straight thru till next weekend! HUH! But my ride was great on Paige. Then I went to a BBQ for a little while, came home and spread some Magnesium chorlide flakes in the indoor arena to keep the dust down. Haven't put any down in a year now, it needed it. Just used 100 pounds for now on the really dry dusty areas. To wet and crummy out to turn the show kids out! Hot house flowers they are. So gave them lunch of a couple of flakes of hay, they were happy about that! Easy to please! LOL! Love, Marion and the blondies. Come visit me, Nuttin But Good. ♥♡♥ Yep, grey skies changed my plans yesterday morning! I did spring cleaning till nearly 12:00! I ate lunch, and then brushed Deacon and Rocket-fly sprayed and turned them out. I got Whiskey next and bathed him! He looked so pretty...after that I was tired, plum pooped!! So I relaxed and watched them graze. HI Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Had an awesome ride on Paige today. I even put a neck rope on her and gave the reins a lot of slack, like I don't ride that way anyhow! The grabbed the neck rope and worked her. She did well, not perfect, but good. Got a little faster at the lope and jog than what she's trained to do, but I didn't put a lot of leg on her either, I know Karen would have her going better like that. But I'll work on it once a week. Had them out this afternoon in the warm sun. Mowed another pasture, now I can't start all over again tomorrow with the lawn and follow with the pastures! LOL! Had some Sadie time today. We both need it everyday. It's getting hot here, so I didn't ride. I put the halter on her and walked her off the property. She was a little nervous, so we took it slow, stopping when she needed to to look around and see that she was okay. Neighborhood dogs were barking at us. She walked a little fast on the way back to the house. Had to keep stopping her to slow her down. She loved it. Going to walk her more often to get her use going off the property. Going to work up to riding her. Last time I rode her off the property, she was nervous and wanted to fight me. She should trust me more now. Hugs and a vote. Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Had a really good ride on Paige today. Needed it, started the day off with my washing machine taking a dump on me. I think this time it's a gonner! It's almost 35 years old, what'a ya think? Of course it was full of laundry and water, had to try and hand ring things out, bring them upstairs and handwash in the kitchen sink. Not my idea of fun! Went out to check on Sadie when I got home from work last night. She'd torn her fly mask off. It lasted 10 days. Hope to someday move away from the egg ranch. The flies are horrible. Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Today's was Paige's lesson day with our trainer Karen. Karen worked her in the snaffle bit, lot's of getting her to really drive up into the bridle, it's better to do it with a snaffle than a western ported bit. Don't want to hurt the mouth. So after an hour and a half of her working Paige, she said, no ride for you today. She's worked hard enough for me. Then I ran some errands again! Got home and the sun was out and it was 70 degrees, out went the kids to graze and play. They enjoyed themselves! Love, Marion and the blondies. Come visit me, Nuttin But Good. Hi Charlie, here's a vote for ya. Today was a showmanship lesson day for both the yella's. Indy did very good on his tune up. And Piage is just awesome in those 360 degree turns. She sticks that pivot foot and spins like a top! Then they got turn out time. I mowed the lawn, one pasture and half of the sides around the indoor. Supposed to rain on WEd. Long day of work from 6 AM to 5 PM. Came home and helped our (still without his vehichle for towing) neighbor unload his horse stables manure,etc. Took only 10 minutes but getting ridiculous. I claim ANKA for mine after all the loans,LOL! A tired vote for you and please vote Anka for her HOTD! Also heard from Thailand and DARLING is doing well on his meds for his perspiration problems and enjoying his ocean rides and hosing down with carrots cut & cleaned to eat!
