It was another hot day. I let the girls out of the corral late in the afternoon. Sadie was at the backdoor trying to open it, again. She and Star got lots of carrots. When Sadie realized I was out of carrots, she turned that big butt to me to scratch. I found the right places, too. She stuck her bottom lip out and enjoyed it. So silly. Hey!! It is Lara & Mac here!! Well I am sooo sorry we have not been on HC very much this past year and we had a very busy school year that is now coming to an end and we will have some more time for horse channel!! Now is the best part of the year when school comes to an end and horse shows kick it into full gear!!
Anyways so I will update you on me and Mac’s progress so far this year, we started off the winter riding only once a week and that was going really good, Mac was accomplishing sooo much!! Then it came time for the annual awards banquet which is head every year and me and Mac did wonderful winning 5 championship provincial awards and 3 jr champion zone awards, which is wonderful!! Since we did so well in our province we are trying to qualify for the Saskatchewan Summer Games in Dressage!! It is a big job but we hope we make the team!!! Now we are riding twice/three times a week to train hard for the Summer Games and the upcoming filled summer of horse shows!! So wish us luck and we hope we do well!!
Anyways let me know what you and your horse are up to and what your plans for summer are because I would love to hear them!!! Well hope all is well and left a vote!!!! Also Me & Mac would love to run for July HOTM and would really love your support!!

About Star. She's an appy. 1 profile keeps me busy. That's why I only have Sadie on HC. Not sure how old Star is. I just know she is. Hard to keep weight on her. The glaucoma has her blind in both eyes. She was able to see a little when I showed the Horse Illustrated magazine to her. She acted like she could read. She, now, follows my voice. Spent some time with the girls Monday. I used a groomer's stone on Star. Got most of what was left of her winter coat off. She's in heat. I thought she was too old for that. I dedicate this special occasion of our first show together to Joanna and Pixie Dust.
Fancy spent Friday night in a blanket with hopes she would be more clean than dirty come morning. The back clip had come undone, but that blanket did serve the purpose. Fancy only had one area on the side of her neck that was dirty. Once at the farm, I cleaned her dirty spot and her feet before introducing Fancy to the sandy arena. At first she was a little excited to be in a new place, but soon settled down. We only entered two classes this time. Fancy was fine, except she did not like horses standing behind her. When horses were lined up behind us, Fancy kept trying to spin around to see exactly what they had in mind back there.
We entered class 2 Adult Halter with 6 entries and Fancy placed 3rd!!!! This was the first time I ever won a ribbon with any horse!!! I was so excited. We didn't do so well in Class 3 as we placed 5th out of 5. However, We did leave with 2 ribbons from our first show!!!

Thanks for the info on ear pinning! Buttercup is doing much better each day. Monday she did not pin her ears as if she were irritated. While we moved around her, she did lay her ears down a little as if to be listening. I think she just needs to trust being in a new place with new people. My brother only sat on her a minute Sunday, but Monday he did ride her a few minutes! And she was very good for him!

Big hello. Because of my slow internet, I've become the queen of C/P. Please know I love and appreciate each one of you and thank you so much for voting for Sadie. ........I wish everyone had had the chance to have met Joanna and Pixie Dust. She was such a beautiful spirit, an angel amongst us. Those of us who knew her, loved her very much. It was easy to. We honor our beautiful friend with each vote we place for others. And Pixie Dust was amazing herself. She was used to educate others and she entertained and brought smiles to so many. They both left behind a legacy of love and smiles. In their darkest of hours, they both inspired and encouraged us. Facing death didn't stop them. Pixie's love of Joanna was a refection on the beautiful person Joanna was. And Pixie Dust's devotion was a reflection of how special Pixie Dust was, too. I hope Joanna's able to look down on us from heaven and know we're honoring her and Pixie Dust with our campaign for Pixie's May HOTM run. I wasn't there when it happened, but Little Buttercup was ridden today! My brother's friend rode her all around the field and then up the street and out of sight. Upon their return, this guy asked my brother how much he would take for her! Well, no sale today buddy! LOL! My brother videoed some of it on his cell phone, but he could not get the video to send.
King Kong is doing great since being at his new home. It didn't take him long to feel at home.
Fancy and Trigg are enjoying hand grazing and grooming.

She was a 21 year old Shetland pony from Bloomsfield Hills, Mi.. Pixie's been a HC club member for over 3 years and 7 months. She belonged to our dear friend, Joanna Wicke. Joanna kept her at a farm where she was used for educational programs and pony rides at birthday parties. When Joanna passed away last September, Pixie followed her to Heaven 5 months later. My brother and I did ground work exercises with Buttercup today. She is very smart, with the exception of the ear thing. She will do anything you ask of her, but she pins her ears back a lot. To me that is the sign of an unhappy camper. I guess she will settle in after she has been with us a little longer and maybe then she will be happy. Have you ever had a horse that does that? with people? What is your impression when the horse pins its ears back while doing what ever you have asked it to do?
