How We Met

I have always loved horses but I didn't get the money to start lessons till I was 8. I rode for a couple years western but never really got into it then I did some natural horsemanship which I loved but unfortunately my trainer moved away which was really sad. So then when I was 10 I started showjumping and dressage but I didn't really like the show barns luckily I found a nice little barn with two arenas and a trainer I liked who was willing to come out to work with me on some of the barns lesson horses. Finally when I was thirteen my parents bought me the love of my life Joey. It wasn't easy finding the right horse I wanted one who could take me to the next level riding wise but who I also connected with on a personal level. When I found Joey he was at a big show barn that I had once ridden at and didn't like the way there horses were treated. Joey was being kept in a 12' by 12' stall with no turnout and no one to ride him. He had picked up cribbing pacing and weaving but I knew he was the horse for me when I walked into his stall for the second time and he leaned his forehead against my chest and yawned.
Now Joey lives in a big stall with a paddock and is turned out for 3 hours a day with two of his buddy's and is ridden a minimum of 4 days a weak on trails and in the arena he had become my big happy cuddly boy and I don't know what I would do without him..
