FANCY'S PERCEPTIONS: “A mother understands what a child does not say” (unknown)

Are you finally enjoying spring? We went out of town last night to help a friend. It was soo late when we returned I had to call it a night. Fancy is ready for fun. She lets me know she wants an outing by neighing to me when I go outside for any reason. I tried to get some help taking the cart out, but no help just yet. I am giving my mom flowers for Mother's Day, perennials that will come back for her to enjoy. She seemed to be happy about that. I am tired of being still and I am ready to get creative. LOL.

Hi! Here is a mid week vote from Fancy and our herd!
I added a pic of Fancy's heel injury at the bottom of our page. She is out of the stall leaping, bucking, & running hard!
I think Trigger wants Fancy back in the stall. She is directing his every move, even if he can eat. Poor guy. Trigger gained weight while Fancy was in the stall. If he loses any weight, I will have to separate them so he can have some peace.

Depending on days I am physically able, I will ground drive Fancy and let her pull some things. I am excited for this!

Last Saturday my brothers rode Buttercup and Goldie. I got to ride Buttercup. Buttercup kept trying to follow my brother and she would not listen to me. She wanted to have a temper tantrum, so my brother lead her around so I could ride here. I felt like a little kid. But at least I got to ride. LOL.

I wanted to ride Goldie, but after I saw her behavior, I was fearful for my brother to ride her. Goldie is dangerously buddy sour, I tried to hold the reins so he could tack her up. But she pushes you with her body and neck and she will not listen to instruction. She will turn her butt to push you and try to run past you. I think that means she will kick if she wants too. I had to ask Buttercup's owner (my other brother) to hold Goldie because, Goldie made my wrists hurt. I don't want to ride Goldie anymore. She needs some schooling! My brother had a time getting on her but when he was finally on her, they started out rough until she was under her buddy. He had to keep them two together so he could hope for a peaceful ride.

HI!!! Here is a Happy Easter vote for you!
I am so happy to be able to blog and vote! Saturday I got my job list caught up and the brace is helping with the swelling, pain, & numbness. I have missed interacting with you all. I will blog and vote often as I can depending on my physical situation.

Saturday afternoon we went to the farm to take pics of my brothers and their friend as they rode out. I rode Buttercup in the field, well, my brother lead me on her. When he got her she did not like anyone. Now, she knows who he is and she only wants to listen to him! I could not ride her without him leading her. I did not want to get into a tussle with her either because my wrist are weak. I did enjoy the short ride in the field though!!!

Fancy's wound continues to improve. I was afraid to let her get her kicks out, but I let her out for a while Friday. She ran! Bucked, kicked, & ran more! There was NO limping, no swelling, no bleeding. I did put some bell boots on her before I let her out. Does any one know if it is ok to allow her to wear bell boots all day or night? I took them off when I put her back in the stall. The bell boots covers that wound so I think they will help if I leave her out. I don't know anything about bell boots because I have never used them.

If you saw our last video, don't worry, Fancy was not in any danger. Fancy has been goin up them stairs since she was 10 months old. When we go there more often she walks up them better than I do. They are in the park and there is grass on both sides. I never let her walk down. I think the pool noodle getting under her leg made her feel funny because the first time she was unsure. After I
placed that noodle back at her side she was ok.

Our yard is soaked after last nights rains! The daffodils still look so pretty!
After having the cold winter months off, Buttercup finally had some riding time this past weekend. She seemed to enjoy her short time under saddle. I think she will be ready for the trails come spring. NOw to just get Fancy ready! I look forward to seeing Fancy prancing in the sun when her ouchie is all healed.
We always build their riding times up during many short rides. Do you prepare your horse for hours of riding.

Today is the last day for the next week that I will be able to leave normal daily blogs and votes for a few days. My oldest son is visiting from Kabul. We pick him up at the airport Sunday!!! Today is his 31st birthday! We will be out cramming all we can into a few days. I will not have much computer time. I will try to vote contest each day and I will try to help with the newsletter on Thursday.

Hope you are having a great day! We had a horseclub meeting tonight and that was about the only thing (besides if I had a chance to ride) that would lift my spirits. I am sorry, many things have worn me down this past few days. When it rains it pours. Not being in control of my child's safety is very upsetting to me. I have been attacked in the past, but that did not involve my child, so it did not bother me, it was easy to turn from it. I hope none of your families have to deal with such messes.
The horse club meeting was wonderful! I feel peaceful now.

Fancy has cabin fever like never before!!! Trigger will stand beside the stall gate to be near Fancy. He went to stand there while she was eating her grain and she tried to kick him. She seems to get angry when he is eating hay and she can't stop him. I can just tell what she is thinking. She wants to boss him around so bad! Trigger has the chance to not be beat up and bossed around but, when I tie Fancy out to clean her stall, Trigger stands right at her hip and sniffs her botty. He must be some kind of crazy!

Fancy’s cut was looking nice until after last night’s rains. We are expecting more rain tonight, so Fancy is in the stall now, hopefully to stay clean and dry so her cut can heal.
Monday evening the sheriff/detective was able to get that fake FB profile page of Cowboy deleted. It was very tough to accomplish because FB has recently made it hard for law enforcement to deal with. It turned out the little girl that liked him was the one who made the page because Cowboy did not want to date her. Now these children are only 11 and 12 years old. What is the world coming to. The sherriff/ detective talked to her parents also. During this time the girl tried to say Cowboy was bothering her so she made the page. But she exposed her true intentions on the page before it was all over. Today at school, She had the nerve to approach him to tell him she was not happy about being exposed. I told him not to even hold a conversation with her.
Well that is enough Cowboy drama! I don’t want any more of that!

A few months ago I began a part time job. Well, that is more like full time now. As you have noticed my irregularity on HC, I am pressed for time and energy. Lately, I have fallen asleep at the computer and I don't know how I have not fallen out of this chair. LOL! When I am mentally and physically able, I will leave a vote for each of your profile pages. Here is your vote! We finally enjoyed a beautiful day in the winter sun! Cowboy and Trigger lead our little outing. Cowboy's school friend, rode Fancy with me and she was not on her best behavior, which frightened him a little. She was not bad, but she was not relaxed. Fancy was in GO mode. I promised him a better ride next time. I spent some time riding Fancy alone then Fancy and I spent some time alone in the yard.

After church today Young Cowboy and I finally enjoyed HorseTime! Most of my time was taken removing mudd from horses, but I enjoyed every minute! Finally to ride! I did not ride Saturday with friends because I had not ridden in weeks and I do not like to take Fancy out when I have not worked with her.
Young Cowboy is very excited for his 12th birthday tomorrow!
The changes to HC are very nice. I am happy to see it does not look like we have lost any friends here.
Well, I better hurry to bed, we have another big day coming :)

Did you partake in any horse event during this first few days of 2013? It has been a bit muddy in our yard, so we have not :(

I enjoyed the rains, and the quiet times that came with it. The days might be a little cool to me, but we are finally expecting to see dry, sunny days again! The weekend is even expecting to warm up in the low 50's! That means we will have a chance of riding ☀

COWBOY & TRIGGER, the Young Prince & King of January: I called Cowboy into the room and told him to read the computer screen. He read it and he said smiled. I asked him if he knew what it meant. He said Trigger won HOTD. I told him no, read it again. He asked me what is HOTM. I explained to him that means Horse Of the Month. He was very excited as he told me in his own 11 year old words that HOTM was a great surprise in addition to his birthday being Monday! Trigger was his usual calm ole self, just mellow and go lucky, and trying to get along with miss Bossy Pants, Fancy. Cowboy and Trigger send thanks for voting them Jan HOTM. Cowboy and Trigger won January HOTM!!!!! And I can't wait to spring it on them when he wakes up!!! Cowboy's will be 12 years old January 7th, this is one of the best early birthday presents ever! I can not call him LITTLE Cowboy anymore, now I shall call him Cowboy. I am sure he will want to go out into the rain to give Trigger treats!

Good Morning! How has your week been? I am back on normal schedule until New Years. Along with cold temps, much needed rains have finally returned to North Carolina. We had quite a few days of rain and are expecting more throughout the upcoming week. We need some snow at our house this year! I know some areas are covered with snow! What a glorious time of year! Sorry we have been so busy. Now I can tell you about our Christmas holiday. It was filled with Christmas play practice, eating, shopping, & cooking. The usual things :) The only fun horsey time we have enjoyed has been running out the back door to feed them quick snacks through each day. That has really helped Trigger to stop running away from me. LOL. This was my first Christmas attending our candle light service. I enjoyed that and plan to make it part of my future Christmas traditions. Christmas dinner was the best ever! My sister helped my mom cook! I helped do little things like prep and put stuff in place, etc. Christmas night, we drove to a nearby town to see the light show. They have made several improvements and it was the best light show yet.
We look forward to reading about your 2012 Christmas. As we visit your pages, we enjoy all the Christmas photos and holiday avatars. I hope you enjoyed some horsey time somewhere along the way.

Cowboy's very first band performance was a success. I have sat through previous first band performances of my other children, where they struggled through several Christmas pieces. Little Cowboy's group only played two pieces that they actually played correctly. It was wonderful. Either they have a great instructor or they have extra talent. I think it is both. LOL.

Sorry we were not online as planned Tuesday. Little Cowboy has had several questions after the tragedy in Newtown, Conn. Then, yesterday morning his school was informed their principal had lost her life. After Cowboy went to bed, I was a bit exhausted and went to bed also.
Other wise things are fine here.
We pray this is a peaceful week for you.

Friday I unloaded a ton of rock dust. That stuff is hard to remove from a truck bed! Very heavy stuff. My little Cowboy kind of helped me. On occasion, he accidentally threw rock dust in my boots and he did more playing in the dust than work. Fancy kept trying to eat my truck and Trigger kept his distance. I went to bed very early because my back was feeling it's worst. Cowboy asked me to tell you that he was very tired too :)

Last night Cowboy informed me that Thursday is National Day of the Horse and he kindly requested a special photo edit. I have been so busy I did not realize that. I am glad to see he takes an interest in celebrating the joy of horses and I thank my small Cowboy for keeping me up to date ♥
