Nicknames: Milo

Age: 15 years old

Gender: Gelding

Breed: Thoroughbred

Height: 16.1hh

Color: Chestnut with a star.

Type of Riding: Currently we are just working on basic training. He is pretty green.. our goal is to do 3 day eventing.

My Horse's Achievements: Milo and I have not been together very long but he has come from being a rather unruly and dangerous horse to a talented companion. He is learning quickly and we hope to start competing this summer.

My Horse's Favorite Treat: Everything. Seriously.

My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Milo moved eating just about everything. He also enjoys a good run with a bucking session prior to riding. He loves being scratched/groom- ed behind the ears and under his jowls.

Pet Peeves: The list goes on. Milo hates rain, cold, hot, flies.. You get the idea!

My Horse's motto: Go big or go home.

How We Met

My previous horse passed away in October. I had started riding for my colleges riding team but as it was winter break, I really wasn't riding at all. I had just transfered schools and moved to a new state and had very few friends with horses. My one friend called me in early December telling me about a horse her hay guy had that he wanted gone ASAP (he was a dealer of QH's, paints and more 'western' style horses) because he had no use for a roudy TB. I called him and asked if I could come look at him just as an excuse to sit on a horse. I got on him during a snow storm (no indoor) and was instantly in love. I knew he had to be mine. I was in tears after riding this horse; I knew he was heaven sent from my boys up above. I didn't think I would be able to buy him because I was financially on my own and juggling rent and board seemed pretty impossible. Instead, the dealer agreed to let me lease him until I could afford to buy him. On the last day of the 1st month of my lease he told me Milo was going to auction if I didn't buy him that day. Long story short, I figured out my finances and brought him home 2 weeks later. It has been a struggle trying to find the time to go to school, work 2 jobs to be able to afford him AND actually ride, but he is worth every minute and penny. He has been my support system after losing my previous beloved horse and has taught me a LOT about training very green horses. I am hoping to enjoy many years to come with Milo!.
