My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Play in the water bucket and eat.
Also, he likes to "strip" the farrier of his apron - he's jealous of it

How We Met

He was 300 pounds underweight and the owner said that her "farrier" said his hooves were fine and he had not gotten a trim, she was given Charlie in Oct 08' (this was Jun 09'), when I went to go check him out, I felt bad for him so I bought him and then I rehabbed him.
Later from the owner that wanted him for HJ told us:
He has broken withers and he could not jump, he has been starved about 3 times and the only way she figured he could have broke his withers was in the starting gate.
We did some research on him and he had gotten first in one race, we also found he is the 5th great grandson of racing legend "Man O' War".
He has gained his weight back to where it needs to be and has wonderful hooves.
I got Charlie when he was a little over 11 years old.

What a cold & windy day in NC! I did spend a bit of time today cleaning Fancy's corral. I was on my way into the shed and Fancy nickered to me. I know the look, she wants time out. I actually promised her I would give her time out when I finished putting my yard tools away. The wind was blowing so hard when I came out of the shed that I forgot my promise to Fancy & was about to lock the shed door when Fancy nickered to me. She was standing at the gate patiently waiting for her time out. I told her Ok, you keep me honest! And back into the shed I went to fetch her halter and lead. On the way I was thinking to myself, I talk to this horse too much, she knows what I am telling her. I gotta stop talking soo much. LOL! I do love my sweet horse ♥

'C' had to visit his Trigger today. When we got there Trigg was across the creek. We called to him and he actually ran over. I think he thought it was supper time. 'C' gave Trigg a nice juicy apple. Trigg got himself a new nickname today. 'C' calls him Tigger now.

The rains held back and the winds were harsh, it was too cold to ride, but we had lovely weather this weekend.

Wow, a descendant of the great Man-O-War! That's so cool! I'm glad he found someone like you to rehab him and love him. It sounds funny that he likes to untie then farrier's apron...but I bet your farrier doesn't think it's so funny LOL!
