How We Met
I rescued Elvis from a terrible fate. I was his 'get out of jail free' card, you could say. Elvis was first a parade horse in Texas, then a rodeo horse, then used as a hack horse. His former owner trained him using the "Cowboy" method. Elvis would crow hop about once every ten rides. His riders, being unexperienced, fell off. His former owner, being an aquaintance of Jacki's (our barn manager), emailed her one day. She wrote that she could not keep him, her only options are accepting $300 by making him dog food or having Jacki take him. She emailed me and asked if I'd like to have him. Of course I would! Jacki wrote back telling her we'd take him. I arranged for haulers to bring him from Texas to Maryland. After waiting 3 weeks for the trip, Elvis was safely picked up and brought to me by Worley's Hauling. I just got Elvis two days ago! He's wonderful!.
