Freedom is a real cutie. I saw his name on another horse's blog and decided to come visit.
I just discovered that they put a riding helmet as one of the gifts you can redeem for Horse Channel points! I was going to buy a new one soon, because my current one is banged up, but now I won't have to because I've almost got enough points to redeem for it. I really want that helmet.

Hi, left a vote, the latest picture is up of Charlie's hoof. 22 1/2 weeks from the date of surgery. Look at that Hoof, I'm so happy. It has been a usual week, overtime, two physio visits. The bad news is Joanne, my physiotheripist thinks that we are heading to surgery for the arm. She does not think she can get it strong enough to support my being able to do anything basically above breast level. I hate to keep complaining, but this is really getting me down. I see the surgeon on Feb 14, happy valentines. This has to be a short blog, I have to work tomorrow. Love Donna Lee

The History on the Gypsy Beauties

The earliest records of multi-colored horses (such as the gypsy horse) are from cave drawings estimated to be approximately 20,000 years old. In past times, such multi-colored horses were believed to be omens of good fortune.
The association of the Rom with horses is almost legendary. By tradition, the gypsy horse is involved in each and every aspect of family life...faithfully pulling the vardo by day, yet sufficiently amenable and patient to be the gentle mount of gypsy children when the day is done. Often staked out alongside the road with the family wagon in all types of weather when not "on the move," the gypsy horse lives and thrives for the most part by partaking of the grasses which happen to be growing where it is tethered. Freedom is adorable...
Hi everyone, first of all I just want to say thank you for all the comforting comments on Scout's page. It has been so hard losing him but I know that many of you have also lost a horse and know what it feels like. On Monday when my dad took the body out of the pasture I stayed inside because I didn't want to watch but he came in and said that Dakota was going crazy and Ethan needed some help with him. All day Sunday Dakota didn't know that anything had changed he would stand by Scout and take a nap and once he even layed down beside him. But once he saw the body being taken away he realised that Scout wasn't just taking a nap. I had him locked in the shed with a board across the front and he was ramming into it with his chest and almost broke it. I finally got a lead rope on him and tried to calm him down. I felt so sorry for the poor little guy, he was loosing his best friend. I kept him in the shed over night because I didn't want him trying to go through the fence. Yesterday when I let him out he went straight to where Scout had layed and sniffed the spot for a good long while. He looks so sad standing alone in the pasture. It feels so odd to walk out to the pasture in the morning and little Dakota is the only one waiting for me at the gate. I would like to get him another buddy sometime but I'm not ready for that yet. So far my parents havn't sounded like they are against getting another horse. Thanks for all your love and support. Maria

Hey guys hope you can help BLAZZE get HOTM march and Dusk his 200 votes! so I am going to put up my free picture editing so look for that if you want your horse's picture edited. Dusk did a free lunge ( the girls at the ranch wanted to see me do a free lunge)Dusk was really mad at me disturb him while he was rolling in the snow! LOL! Got some training done on Markie. BLAZZE and I did a walk around. But and me did barrels and he knocked over all of them( he tries to please me) Oh about Victoria and the goats she is soo confused about the new HC just drop over there and leave a vote! Guys I lost my Vet job at the clinic cause I was not "mature" So yeah really mad at that!!! so send votes hugs to me though the HC world so LOL least I still have the Ranch to look forward to!

After church today Young Cowboy and I finally enjoyed HorseTime! Most of my time was taken removing mudd from horses, but I enjoyed every minute! Finally to ride! I did not ride Saturday with friends because I had not ridden in weeks and I do not like to take Fancy out when I have not worked with her.
Young Cowboy is very excited for his 12th birthday tomorrow!
The changes to HC are very nice. I am happy to see it does not look like we have lost any friends here.
Well, I better hurry to bed, we have another big day coming :)

freedom is so big!
we've had nearly a week of gray rainy weather. :( today the sun should come out in the afternoon. i rode smooch last night before feed time. he was very good. thank goodness for my covered arena. though it's muddy all around and ponds of water cover the pasture, i have one little dry spot to ride in! :)

The weather is finally cooling down. It's humid. Rained a little Tuesday night. Going to buy Austin's birthday present tonight. He'll be 17 on September 16th. Girls are doing good. The flies are horrible, but Bronco Fly Spray works well. Not using apple cider vinegar anymore. Didn't work. Not using garlic, either. Hugs and a vote.

Congrats to SNOWWHITE for winning HOTD!!

Last night I did groundwork with Flicka. Walked her through an “L” shape (made with poles) and around some upright pole bending poles.
Then rode Sweet Pea a little with the English and the snaffle and gave rides to my cousins.....
Sorry this is quick.....this week is so hectic! Might not be able to vote and blog till Monday......
