How We Met

I saw her last Aug 2011 at our Palomino Show and fell in love with her. Asked if she was for sale, she wasn't.
But came up for sale this springtime, I found her on the internet at a trainer's barn that I know and loved how she progressed in Western Pleasure. I just purchased her on May 29th 2012

HI, left a vote. I rode Amber today, walk, trot, and canter! Okay, not that long at the trot and canter, but better than last week. Yes, it hurt, but not anymore than it has been. Felt good to ride!

Hi Marion, Indy & Paige! Haha ya I'm sure Paige isn't complaining about her little vacay. She's probably thinking "take all the time you need mom" haha. Thanks again for all the support this month :) I went by and saw Koot for a few minutes after work. I had to drop a check off since the farrier is coming today. I think Koot liked the visit especially since he got a few treats out of it lol. Voted. XOXO Danya & Koot

Glad you're feeling a bit better. Sorry you've got "ants in your pants". Another do nothing day, my get up and go seems to have gotten up and gone. So, you really think Paige planned this out carefully, with help from Indy?

Yeah, forced inactivity is no fun. So glad you're starting to feel a little better; usually the second or third day is the worst. You must be pretty tough, lol.
I asked about horse-type zertec or antihistamine, and the vet said that its really hard to get that much antihistamine for the same reason they have to keep track of how much sudafed any one person buys for human use.
When I went to get my in-laws dog to take to the vet, I found my mother in law down, so spent the entire day at the hospital. She's had another stroke and doesn't look very good. Hopefully, her daughter will get back in town today and take over.
Well, hope you have a good Tue and continue to feel better.

Yep, it was a good thing it was football Sunday. Hope you're feeling better today. Sounds like you're having warmer temps than us; we've been in the upper 70s.
Rode BJ for a little bit bareback yesterday and was disappointed that he was blowing again. His breathing eased after just walking around a while, and I was able to lope a couple of circles each way. Guess I'll have the vet scope him at some point and depending on what he sees, then take him to Georgia. I was hoping BJ would be set, at least till next summer. Drat!
Well, its Monday again. Hope you have a good one.
PS. Monday just got better; today is apparently international coffee day and the gas station is giving away free coffee. Pumpkin spice cappacino for me. Whoot!

Happy Monday! Goodness - sorry to hear you had a bit of a tumble. Glad nothing is broken but I know the bruising can be just as bad. Time and rest is about all you can do - and just when the weather was at a nice temp for riding! Hopefully you will bounce back quick.
Didn't get any riding in this weekend. Had so much housework and yard work that needed to be done that Butter got a break. Which was okay with him - his left front leg seems to be a bit sore. Have been putting linament on it and wrapping it every night. He is walking a little stiff but I can't see any swelling and no cuts or scrapes. Hoping he just stepped wrong in the fields and some rest will heal it.
Hope you have a great start to the week!

i had a nice ride on sing today. i usually don't ride on my work week end cause i'm psychotic and exhausted from being awake all night and sleeping only 3 hours. today was a pretty day with a nice breeze and i just had to take advantage. i just walked out in my pasture and circled the trees. time well spent any way you look at it. she's such a good horse. we've had so many years together, we think alike!

I get fussed at for crossing my hand over their neck too. I'm also bad to switch to holding the reins in my right hand. Stuff you learn as a kid sure sticks with you.
Got the grass cut, my hair cut, and my mother in laws hedges cut. Unfortunately, no ride time. I used to ride every day I'm off, weather permitting, but now its only once or twice a week. Gotta fix that.
Sounds like Paige is doing well with the neck reining. Hope you get in another good ride today.

finally back to the computer to Blog, Lilly is doing fantastic, I have all my fall maintenance for her lined up , a trim then Dr. Jeff comes for her fall shots and wellness check, Have been riding or walking every night this week, to keep me focused on the important stuff like love laughter and me time, all this week I have been involved in transitioning my job out, which is really weird thing to do, ( work your way out of a job )not sure what my last day is but I think sometime in Oct, early I hope, I know longer will be doing what I do as of Oct. 2 I doubt my company would want to hang on to me to do nothing for very long after that. I actually can't wait now to get out of corporate America, it has been a good job but I have resolved now that a new, glorious adventureis about to begin. !! Love Suz and Lilly

Here's a vote from Buddy! Well, it's been quite a long time since Buddy & I have been on to blog and vote. A lot has happened since we were on last and I will try to recall it all.

Last time I was on was right before I went for my vacation up to the ranch. I had a really good time up there and lots of fun. I got to see friends that I hadn't seen since last year and go on quite a few rides. I stuck to riding two horses that I always used to ride before I was able to ride Buddy. Gypsy, and Keira. Gypsy is Keira's mother and also is the mother of Buddy's first colt Vanner. The most memorable part of my trip is shortly after we got there we were talking about doing the lake ride. Normally we do the lake ride in two days. Ride up to the lake, camp overnight and ride back to the ranch the next day. Well, this year we didn't have time to do that so we did the ride all in one day. It's 31 miles up to the lake from the ranch. I can't remember if that includes back to the ranch or not. Either way, it was a long ride, 11 hours! We would have been able to do it in about 9 or so but certain people that opted to come on the ride were having issues and sort of being "poor sports" to put it nicely. Anyways, after we got back from that ride we went into Armstrong from the rodeo. I don't know anyone who can say they did an 11 hour ride before they came to the rodeo!

I got back home from my vacation on the 7th of September and have been quite busy since. I've been working, and cleaning the house, and taking care of both of the dogs, and of course Rob had decided he needed a new fish tank so now I have 2 tanks to feed. We also have been looking at moving out of the house at the barn, and getting our own place, and I think we have found one! Last night we went to look at an amazingly huge 5 bedroom house, and oddly enough it was the cheapest rental we found. I believe we are going to meet with the couple today and get everything "formal" signed and what not. The place thankfully isn't too far away from the barn, about 20 minutes so it will still be easy enough for me to get to work. That being said, I am looking for a Unit Clerk job in the hospitals here. I love working at the barn, but the dramatics that go on around here are starting to get at me and I feel like I need to find myself a job that actually puts my education to work.

Buddy has been good, he got a new stall sign! Morgan made it for me before she left for Australia. I haven't ridden him much at all sadly. I hopped on him last night after walking him around for about 45 minutes with the fluffly saddle pad he likes, but he is still hesitant to move forwards. He tenses up and just feels like he's ready to pop me off. I'm hoping to try and ride him bareback today, and without a bridle to see if it's the bit hurting his teeth. I know I have to get his teeth checked/done I just cannot afford it at the moment.

I hope everyone has been good, and has been getting a lot of horsey time in. Thank you f

Come visit me, Buddy.

Maybe you should've led your horses out into the pastures on your way to the indoor, lol.
The hubby passed away 8 yrs ago this past Wed. I feel obligated to help them because they helped me so much with child care at the time, they're within 10 mins from my house, and their family is very small. The other daughter is in Oklahoma, and the other granddaughter is in Tenn. There are 2 older folks who are doing a lot too, its just that there is so much to do. None of us realized things had gotten as bad as they had.
On a good note, took BJ on a short trail ride yesterday. If you had told me, 3 wks ago, that I'd have him on the trails, I wouldn't have believed you. I'm so grateful. We went slow, and I led him up the long hills, but we were out there and he did well. The weather was beautiful and I'd do it again today if Kathryn didn't have to work. I hope to play with Allie a bit today-i'm having Allie withdrawal cause I only gave her a passing pat yesterday.
Well, let the day begin. Hope you have a good Friday.

PS the ford truck advertised in the front of Americas Horse magazine that just came out, is it fire bronze? Kinda looks like it. I love that color.

HI, left a vote. Felt good to see my girl today! She is a half an hour away now. Half way there, my hip really started to hurt, almost turned around. So glad I didn't. Tasha saw me moving around, and she gave me an adjustment. She said my hip was really rotated, and will need another adjustment next week. Felt a little better, I even rode for about 10 minutes at a walk. Tasha got on her then, and took her through her paces for me.
