Update Miracle
Since Miracle became our life I have learned so much about blind horses. I have also learned the sad story on so many. Many owners put them down because of being blind and are never given a chance. Miracle has shown me that she is a horse first and blind second. There so many in the horse community that help, adopt and love their blind horse, however, there needs to be more education on blind horses that they can do and are willing to do everything and anything. Inspite of her history she has become a wonderful friend and part of our herd. She has allowed me to ride her and is still learning to trust, but now she tries first to trust. I would like to pass the word that if anyone is thinking of getting a horse don't forget to check out a blind horse. Our other horse Obie has taken her under his hoof became her eyes and she has become more giving than we ever imagined. I love to brag on her and Obie as they have done all the work. I'm just there to muck their stalls.;)Come visit me, Obie & Miracle.

That's great that you got to take her for a walk! That's terrible what her previous owner did. That's so terrible when people do that, no matter to whom they do it - people, dogs, cats, horses... being mean is never worth it. I know you two can overcome this hurdle, and come out on the other side stronger and more beautiful than other! People and animals that have a disablility usually seem to have unnatural strength in another - maybe Miracle's is her ability to love. :) Give Miracle a kiss for me. Voted for you! She is beautiful! living with a blind horse has its difficulties but it can be fun and rewarding! good luck with her! definatly earned my vote Come visit me, Simcha & Willow.

Absolutely. Sharing a kiss with a horse is definitely not self-serving. Horses show their affection by nuzzling each other and grooming each other...so kissing them is a great way to do that. Plus, they can sense how you feel... horses are great at reading people :) Has Miracle overcome anything lately that you're proud of? I know that with Koda, we worked him in the round pen for the first time... he didn't really like it, but it was his first time. After a while, he was alright. Then, when I was brushing him, he decided to let me know he's ticklish EVERYWHERE...so every time I would brush him, he would move into me. That's disrespectful, so of course I had to push him away. Well it kind of turned into a "let's-see-who-is-going-to-be-the-leader" match because Koda kept pushing and pushing and pushing. But after a while, he overcame it :) He's a great horse. Thank you for the warm welcome
Being new to Horse Channel.com, I never realized how many horses are named Miracle, I appreciate the nice warm comments. Mirra is a blessing and it goes to show how a horse that had been abused will come back to trust again, I think that with an abused or neglected horse is that they will "never forget but always forgive."Come visit me, Obie & Miracle.
