Week two of the HOTM run, Woohoo!
Question of the day: Has your horse ever been in a near death situation and lived to tell about it? ( or rather whinnny about it)
A long time ago when my fencer wasnt working Dakota used to break out of his fence all the time, and several times ran down the middle of a busy tar road near our place, but never got hit. Another time he was inside his 3-sided shed when a tornado picked it up and completely demolished it, and somehow never got a scratch.
If your horse has ever been in a near death situation, I would love to hear about it!

I took my dog, Scruffy, to the vet for a check up and a rabies shot Wednesday. He was so good. He weighs 58lbs and is healthy. Spent some time with the girls when I got home. Not getting the horse. Tempting, but I need to spend more time with Sadie. She still needs a lot of work first. A horse is expensive. Hi HC Friends. A friend came into work tonight and offered me a free horse. He's 3 years old and needs work. Not as big as Sadie. Don't know if he's a gelding or not. So tempting, but a horse is expensive. I fall behind, at times, with things I need to do for Sadie and Star. If money was a little better. It will be soon. Would like to know more. A MESSAGE FROM LOGAN; I'm sorry to be a pain but can you please tell people I can't vote for everyone again. I have to go get x-rays for my wrist because it is not getting better. With the temperature cooler, I got to spend some time with the girls. Rick came home with hay. He called me to go out and open the gate. I was surprised to see Star standing in the front yard next to my car. I put the lead rope on her and led her back through the gate. Sadie was still inside of the fence. I checked the fence and found where Sadie had knocked it halfway down. She rubs that big itchy butt on the fence and had bent the posts over. They got brushed. Scruffy, too. He was loving the attention..... Because of the rain, the corral is slippery and messy. I let the girls stay out all day. I put them up after dark. Didn't want to risk leaving them out and something possibly happening. I took a bag of carrots out with me when I was putting them up. I had to put the lead rope back on Star to guide her in. Sadie, knowing I had the carrots, wanted them. She's a carrot junkie. I pointed toward the gate and told her to go in, and I'd give her some. She went in the corral and came back out after a few seconds. As I was leading Star in, I pointed to the gate, again, and told her to go back in, and I'd give her some carrots. She went back in and waited for me. As soon as I got Star in, I divided the carrots between them. So amazed and impressed with how well Sadie learns. I'm so blessed. Deworming was easy. Both girls took it without a problem. I rewarded them with apple treats after making sure they swallowed all of the dewormer. Sadie happily ate hers. Star hesitated. She checked them out, and when she realized there was no garlic, not only ate hers, but asked for more. And I gave them to her. Hugs and a vote. In an attempt to fight flies, and boy do we have them, I bought some apple treats and sprinkled garlic powder on them. Sadie ate the treats, but Star only had a few. She didn't like the garlic powder. I put a cup and a half of apple cider vinegar in their water trough. Wasn't sure how much to use. Star likes the vinegar. She was licking it out of my hand. Sadie didn't care for it, though. That stuff is strong. I washed my hands several times and my hand still smells like it. Deworming the girls Thursday. Hugs and a vote. We're under an extreme heat warning this week. It doesn't cool down overnight, either. Heavy winds, blowing dust, too. Hope it'll rain. Good news. No flies. Must've blown away. Spent some time with the girls Monday. Not much because of the heat. I took a bag of carrots out and divided it between them. Sadie said there's nothing better than cold carrots on a hot day or any day. Will be so glad to see the cooler weather. The flies are horrible. Sadie and Star are have been miserable. Someone told me to sprinkle lime in the corral and wet it down. It's suppose to keep the flies away and won't harm the girls. I need to pick some up Wednesday. Hugs and a vote.
