I didn't ride today; I decided to work on ground work and it went well. We worked on backing though gates, lateral movement away from pressure, and changing direction while lunging. It wasn't a smashing success, but I could tell Luna was starting to get the idea. I will repeat the same lessons for the next few days until I'm sure she understands.

I totally got to canter yesterday (I know, for you youngsters that's no big deal, but I'm an "old lady" so it's a huge adventure LOL)! I was on a trail ride with friends and Luna was kind of lagging behind. She realized she was being left behind, so she trotted a couple of strides, then broke into a wonderful, exciting, breath-taking canter, and it was the most fabulous thing that has happened to me in awhile. I am going to try to do that again today! I love horseback riding!!
