Color: liver chestnut with hind socks and a star connected to a stripe. And various "kokodots", or white dots in some places. Not too noticeable though!

Type of Riding: Morgan hunters, equitation on the flat, western pleasure, western equitation, reining and dressage.

My Horse's Achievements: 2-time Junior Champion, Reserve Junior Champion, Champion Morgan Youth Hunter, Junior Equitation Champion, High Point Morgan Under Saddle and being featured in Horse Illustrated a while ago for a perfectly balanced western jog!
HOTD on HC Aug. 17 2012!!
2nd in Training Level dressage at her first show! Scored a 65.21%!!!!!

My Horse's Favorite Treat: Peppermints, mint tea, pretzels, ham and cheese sandwiches, watermelon, cantaloupe, coffee, raspberry yogurt covered pretzels, and strawberry Twizzlers. And pizza. That too!

My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Canter, show off, nuzzle, eat, give back rubs, go on non-scary trail rides, and spend time with her girl. She also LOVES to jump ditches, as I learned the other day!

Pet Peeves: Flies!! And not winning. And no treats.

How We Met

After I sold my TB, I started in the Morgans, and found her. Originally, she was just a ride until I found a new horse, but I fell in love! We are the best of friends, and I know I have finally found a horse that loves me back.

Today is the last day for the next week that I will be able to leave normal daily blogs and votes for a few days. My oldest son is visiting from Kabul. We pick him up at the airport Sunday!!! Today is his 31st birthday! We will be out cramming all we can into a few days. I will not have much computer time. Here is a wintery Monday vote!

Long time no see! I know it's been a long time since I wrote in the blogs, but I'm here to catch up. Thanks for noticing my mention in HI Spy in Horse Illustrated. I was so surprised and pleased to see they had printed that.
I love the picture of You and Koko in the princess costume. Totally cute!

Guess what? I found my own horse on Whinny Warz!! I've been playing that game for over a year, and suddenly, while I was playing this morning, THERE SHE WAS! Plus, I got 500 points for finding her.

I hope the new year has been good to you so far. I have lots of riding plans for once the weather improves, but for now, I'm just doing ground work and trick training. It's actually pretty fun.

good morning everyone :)
sorry i've been away for so long, i was out of school on friday because it snowed and then i was also out monday for MLK day. i didn't have a lesson sunday because there was still snow on the ground and the only day that i'd be able to ride this week was last night but the high was only 25 degrees ALL day yesterday so i didn't ride! it's gonna be in the low 30's all week! tonight i have church, thursday my dad has band practice and friday i have to work, and my trainer will be in lexington all weekend at a horse show so i won't be able to go to that either because my SAT prep classes start this saturday from 8:30 am - 12:30 and those will be every saturday for six weeks :/ not really excited about those either soooo..... i won't be able to ride until next week sometime....that is if it doesn't snow this friday which it's calling for. gahhhhh i need saddle time like ASAP! and my friend who i rode with last weekend will also be at the show in lexington this saturday so she'll be giving fynn the day off afterwards. lol so im ridingless for another week..... im goin crazy! anyways here's a vote and i hope all is well

A few months ago I began a part time job. Well, that is more like full time now. As you have noticed my irregularity on HC, I am pressed for time and energy. Lately, I have fallen asleep at the computer and I don't know how I have not fallen out of this chair. LOL! When I am mentally and physically able, I will leave a vote for each of your profile pages. There may be several times that I will only vote for one page. If you have a preference as to which page I leave the main vote on, please let me know and I will try to do that for you.

are you over the flu yet? it's really bad all around the US they say.
don't hate bear for kicking duncan. unless they were in a really tight corner where duncan was trapped, most horse punishment is for rude behavior. that is what my vet taught me. i had a little pony that got badly bitten by a quarab gelding. he was stripping the skin off the ponies back! looked like he was eating him. i was able to separate them but the vet said that the pony probably behaved in an antisocial way that would be dangerous for the herd in the wild. the gelding was setting him straight.

First of all I want to say my thoughts and prayers have been with Maria and Angel Scout♡ it broke my heart to hear the news. Of course I cried for a good while and Cliff was like “what happened Sherry, what’s going on” I explained to him and he understands in a way. I think some folks don’t understand what we all feel about our HC friends and equines….

It was very beautiful and sunny all weekend. I however did not ride. My back had started small muscle spasms on the Thursday and it got a little worse over the next few days. I had to take some meds all weekend before it got too bad. So I just watched the horses graze. Gave them hugs and love and took it easy. Anyway, I hope all of you had a wonderful weekend!

After church today Young Cowboy and I finally enjoyed HorseTime! Most of my time was taken removing mudd from horses, but I enjoyed every minute! Finally to ride! I did not ride Saturday with friends because I had not ridden in weeks and I do not like to take Fancy out when I have not worked with her.
Young Cowboy is very excited for his 12th birthday tomorrow!
The changes to HC are very nice. I am happy to see it does not look like we have lost any friends here.
Well, I better hurry to bed, we have another big day coming :)

I still have not been able to ride …wet and cold. I do not have an arena or an indoor one!!! I have to haul out to Lake Whitney when it is wet and it is 30 minutes away so after work there is not enough time before dark. Once it dries up some I can ride around my home again. Otherwise I plan to haul out Caturday & Sunday. I can hardly wait.

I hope the New Year is starting out nice for everyone!!!!

Did you partake in any horse event during this first few days of 2013? It has been a bit muddy in our yard, so we have not :(

I enjoyed the rains, and the quiet times that came with it. The days might be a little cool to me, but we are finally expecting to see dry, sunny days again! The weekend is even expecting to warm up in the low 50's! That means we will have a chance of riding ☀

Good luck with the jumping!!
just remember to keep your heels down, get your butt out of the saddle (but not to much to where you're leaning on koko's neck), keep your shoulders back, back flat, and look up and ahead. you can place your hands on koko's kneck if you need support but don't lay on her, otherwise she won't be able to get over the jump very well. i bet you probably already know this but that's what i always remember. sometimes my trainer tells me to go into my two point like 3 or 4 strides away and just stay with it that way i won't be laying on ziggy and i'll already be in the correct position and then the more i jump the better i can tell when to go into my two-point position and when to sit back....oh and don't forget to sit back hahaha i forgot to do that a few times and ended up in the dirt lol!

hello everyone!!
im finally back and happy to read all of your posts about your christmas holiday :) i hope it was wonderful and everthing you expected. i also want to keep Andrea and her herd (sweet pea, flicka, acorn, and starlight) in my prayers for the passing of her grandfather. i know he was very special and close to her and her family's heart. But now he is in a better place and no longer suffering anymore. My he rest in peace. i also had a wonderful christmas break. although im not to excited to be back in school this morning haha! i got to see my 4 sisters and 1 brother since they all came in for break! i missed them all so much! it finally snowed here (not much really, maybe and inch or two) so its been to muddy to ride any. i haven't ridden in three weeks! hahah im dying :) although i did see sandy and bo from across the street when i went to my grandparents house on christmas day. i didn't get to go pet and hang out with them cuz i had to be inside with the family :( but it was great to see them since i haven't seen them since sept. when bo first came. MAN HE HAS GOTTEN HUGE! he's sooo tall now lol no doubt almost 17 hh!! but they were both furry and adorable as ever. i was going to go riding with my friend racheal at ziggy's old barn where she keeps her pony and horse but she got sick and had to cancel.....hopefully i'll get to have a lesson on sunday, the weather's supposed to be nice. ziggy's profile photo is from when it snowed this past week and there's some new/old photos of him on his page. i got another name plate bracelet with his name on it for christmas! i love it! it's brown leather with brass on it. anyways i hope you all are doing well and here's a vote!

COWBOY & TRIGGER, the Young Prince & King of January: I called Cowboy into the room and told him to read the computer screen. He read it and he said smiled. I asked him if he knew what it meant. He said Trigger won HOTD. I told him no, read it again. He asked me what is HOTM. I explained to him that means Horse Of the Month. He was very excited as he told me in his own 11 year old words that HOTM was a great surprise in addition to his birthday being Monday! Trigger was his usual calm ole self, just mellow and go lucky, and trying to get along with miss Bossy Pants, Fancy. Cowboy and Trigger send thanks for voting them Jan HOTM. Thank you for your friendship and support not only during contest, but throughout the year. Believe it or not, HC was the beginning of my computer interest. Since becoming a part of HC I have chosen to learn many things regarding computer use. Don't get me wrong, I don't know half of it, but I know just about enough to do the things that interest me. Hi Hailey and Koko & Song
Well, finally, a bit of restful time off, we are having some friends over today, noonish, it won't be a late thing, just cheese crackers, fruit & dip tray and of course a sweet tray. Then I have 2 days off for just me and the guys. Thanks for asking about Charlie. After Dr. cook did the adjustment and Charlie did not seem any better, we went with a course of bute, after one dose he showed improvement, so after 2 1/2 days he was back to his regular self. Dr. cook says, let's ride the wave, watch him, if any symptoms return, we will deal with it. He felt possibly TMJ, because the response was so quick to the bute. More anti inflamitory than pain. So, he had me google search a couple of things, TMJ, and temporalhyoid osteoarthrotopthy(sp) I told him I'd take TMJ but not the other one. Treatment for TMJ involves very diligent teeth floating, we do it faithfully every spring, probably go with every 6 mos. and sometime chiropractic helps, I think Marion said HT had TMJ and she used chiropractic for him.
