I am from A, NC and I've been a Club Horse member for 1 year, 11 months and 1 day
Nicknames: Sunshine, Sunny, Fence Post
Age: 15 years old
Height: 15 hands
Color: Flaxen chestnut (chestnut with a blond mane) with a white blaze, and blond socks
Type of Riding: I haven't been able to ride for a while, but Rocket has a lot of behavior problems. He makes riding very interesting, but he has fun. So do I:)
My Horse's Achievements: We entered a showmanship class, but had no idea what to do. I had trained him myself and didn't have a personal trainer like everyone else did. I thought it would be a small show, mainly because it was a benefit.
I was wrong.
People showed up from out of state. Everyone was either a professional or had shown before. It was our first show.
Then, I entered a showmanship class. I thought, hey, why not? I wasn't handed the pattern.
No one would tell me the pattern. I aske one girl if she could tell me what I was suppose to do after I parked my horse out. She told me to do the wrong thing. I caught her laughing and telling her friend to watch me mess up.
Then, we had to change to a chain lead, which Sunny was scared of.
Sunny was also scared of the covered arena. Both of us kept craning our necks during the class to see what it looked like:P
Finally, our class started. Everyone had on thousands of dollars worth of attire. Sunny had on a plain leather halter and a dirty lead rope. I had on a straw hat and an old shirt.
We went through our class, but did the wrong pattern. I knew we weren't going to win anything. There was ten other people in that class, all professionals. So I just let sunny have his fun. I wasn't going to be one of those people who wanted the ribbon only. I didn't care about winning at all. I just wanted us to enjoy the show and have a great time. And we did.
While we were suppose to be standing still, Sunny kept yawning. And when Sunny yawns, he sticks out his tounge, rolls his eyes and snorts. Then, he started licking me. He played with my hair a bit. Finally, when we were being judged, he put his nose against my cheek and just held it there. The judges were laughing at us and I had wipe Sunny's slobber off of my face. That's what I call a Sunny kiss.
It turns out that we did get a ribbon. Probably out of pity, but hey, it was his first ribbon. I was so proud of him:)
We also beat some people who had been beating their horses to train them. They later destroyed $57 dollars worth of my brushes for revenge, but I didn't care. It was Sunny's first ribbon and I'm still proud of him.
My Horse's Favorite Treat: Watermelon
My Horse's Favorite Things To Do: Lick. He licks anything he can reach. And he loves to investigate buckets and bags.
Pet Peeves: He cannot stand still. Not even at shows...
My Horse's motto: We go together like suits of armor and lightning storms:)
