Question of the day: How much turnout time does your horse get?
My horses just have 3-sided sheds for shelter, so they are pretty much outside 24/7.

Have a great day!

HISTORY OF THE ARABIAN(requested by Hardwin)
With a domesticated history dating back several millennia, the Arabian horse is considered the eldest and most important of all modern equine breeds. The origin of the breed can be traced to the arid, desert region of the Nejd in the Arabian Peninsula, a harsh environment in which the basics of life, food and water, are scarce, and the existence of both man and beast is challenged in the extreme. Within this unforgiving terrain, the nomadic tribes of the Arabic Bedouin have survived for millennia. Essential to their survival has been their relationship with the Arabian horse, a creature most prized above all earthly possessions. The oral tradition of the Bedouin claims the Arabian horse was first captured thousands of years before the birth of Christ from among the wild horses of the Nejd and tamed for utility under saddle. This was the beginning of perhaps the most important and most intimate coexistence between man and any other member of the animal kingdom, one that would drive both progress and civilization and forever change the fortunes of both species.

Thanks everyone for the helpful info on how to get Sierra backing straight. I always tend to make her back up really fast, but once I slowed down and rewarded her for each step she took, she started doing a lot better.

Question of the day: What is your favorite breed of horse and why?
I dont really have a favorite breed, I pretty much like any horses, but of course I have a soft spot for Welsh Mountain ponies.

Thanks for all the support for Dakota's HOTM run, every vote is appreciated!

I do not know which foundations may be in your area.

Jack-o-lantern, Jack-o-lantern,
You are such a funny sight.
As you sit there by the window,
Looking out into the night.
You were once a sturdy pumpkin,
growing on a curly vine.
Now you are a Jack-o-lantern,
See your night lights shine.

Voted :^)

I have played Whinny Warz since it began and suddenly I have found 2 horses of our herd! Yesterday I found Little Cowboy and Trigger in Whinny Warz! Don't give up, you can find your horses there! Maybe one day I will find My Fancy in Whinny Warz! I will keep playing till I find her. And even after that. I just like seeing all the horse pictures. LOL.

OPPS! On our trailride Fancy's boa boot came unstitched at the rear bottom sole. I am going to the store today and see how much it cost to return them for repair. She has not used them 15 times and we have owned them for 14 months now. The warranty ran out 2 months ago. Isn't that a bummer. I don't know if any one else has ever had that problem, but if I could get another pair, I would not buy another pair just like them. Because we have used those boots 15 times or less and they have come undone. I would try something different.

Have a beautiful Autumn day ✞

Yeasterday morning we had snow! But it soon melted and it snowed last night too but none stayed. Tonight I lunged and saddle all 3 of my horses, Next step, RIDING! I may be getting a wonderful fjord mare, gotta work on my dad though, I think at my time and health(leg) barrel racing is too risky, but Vanti is a dressage horse shes amazing! Gotta work on my dad tho, Haha! Hope you all had a good Wednesday, we had PJ day at school! Texas was lookin' at me after school like ''What?'' You look amess LOL. That horse make's me giggle. Vanti is 14.3hh and gorgeous. But somone has contacted me who has a 3 1/2 yr old, Fjord gelding for 2500 and has 1 month riding on it for 2500 named Bill, I'll make a profile for Vanti to see if you like her, I do! Here's the QUOTE and QUESTION of the day.
Riding: The art of keeping a horse between you and the ground. ~Author Unknown
Would you ever like a fjord? Yes or No, and Why?
My answer: Yes, they are great with kid's kind natured and beautiful

thanks for the compliment! i love to jump. most jumping problems are due to flat work issues. shouldering in is a common problem for us all. the secret is to learn to ride straight and control the horses shoulders all the way to the corner. the problem usually starts along the rail way before the corner. support your horses ribs with your inside leg (the calf rather than the heel). the rein aids that i use are: hold the outside rein steady to keep the shoulder on the rail and don't let your horse overbend to the outside. inside rein will be more elastic and "give & take" to encourage the inside shoulder to lift and bend slightly to the inside through the corner. lots of 20 metre circles help correct the bend and supple the horse for better balance in those corners. do you have any videos posted from your rides? you'll get feedback from other HC riders though some of them i'm not sure they actually jump! lol. they like to tell everyone to stay up longer over the jump or keep heels down. :)

Come visit me, Sing & herd!.
