^^ Good Morning! It’s Caturday!! I rode after work Thursday evening; it was such a nice afternoon! I rode yesterday with my friend Gail. We went to Reynolds Creek at Lake Waco. I haven’t ridden there in over a year. We had such a good ride. There was an association camping the weekend (Tetra) so there were a lot of horses around! Then on the other side of Reynolds creek they call it Lacy Point. The Marines were on that side for the weekend doing different maneuvers and skill test! Of course they are dressed in camouflage. Our horses would watch them moving around –I bet the horse thought “moving walking bushes-what’s that!” Have a great weekend!!!Come visit me, ♥ Whiskey ♥ & ♥ Deacon ♥.

My friend, Dale, came over and rode Sadie Thursday. He's got a lot of experience. Such a blessing to have friends with horse experience who like to come out to ride. Sadie was so good. She did everything he asked her to. She kept those ears forward and seemed to love it. My liability sign is posted, too. Hugs and a vote. Come visit me, SADIE * Sterl May 220509 & Rose 252606 June HOTM*.

History of the Canadian horse:The Threats to the Breed The advent of mechanization during the mid 1900s nearly marked the end of the Canadian Horse breed. After the second world war, the Canadian Horse population steadily dropped until it hit crisis proportions in the 1970s. Less than 5 registrations per year were being recorded from1970 - 1974, and the number of horses had dropped to an estimated 400. During the late 1970s a few influential breeders recognized the plight of the breed, and slowly started acquiring quality animals, setting up breeding programs, and once again began promoting the breed and its wonderful qualities. By the early to mid 1990s, the breed finally began to look like it was on its way back to recovery. The numbers were up to about 2500 - 3000 live animals worldwide and the status was changed from "critical" to "rare" by the American Livestock Conservancy. With its increase in popularity during the early 2000s, unfortunately, just as has happened to so many other breeds, pressure began to be placed on the Canadian Horse to change from the traditional breed type, in order to suit the show ring and to meet perceived market trends. Wow, its hard to believe that October is half over already. I didnt do very much with the horse yesterday, because it was cold windy and misty. Question of the day: What is your least favorite horse related chore? My least favorite chore is probably watering Sierra and Misty because their pasture is too for away to water them with a hose and I dont have automatic waterers, so I have to haul 5 gallon jugs of water to them with the tracter, and it really gets to be a drag sometimes. Thanks so much to everyone that is voting for Dakota, your vote is appreciated! I hope you are all having a good fall! Maria, Dakota N the girlsCome visit me, ~Sierra~ thank u Whiskey & Deacon for vote 1,400!!, ♦Misty♦, Dakota, <>Cherokee<> & ~Scout~RIP~.

Yesterday my little brother Ethan and I went riding together and we had a lot of fun. It has been such a long time since anyone has gone riding with me, so it was nice to have some company. I rode Misty and Ethan rode Dakota. We went for a pretty long ride, got to gallop up some hills and chase in a few calves. It has finally warmed up and yesterday was a perfect day for riding. Question of the day: Do any of your siblings/parents like to go riding with you? Except for Ethan, none of my siblings like to ride with me, or at all for that matter. My mom has never been on a horse in her life( boy she doesn't know what she is missing out on) and my dad isn't much interested in horses. Have a great day and tommorow I will have some breed info on Canadian horses for ya! Thanks so much for all the support! Maria, Dakota N the girlsCome visit me, ~Sierra~ thank u Whiskey & Deacon for vote 1,400!!, ♦Misty♦, Dakota, <>Cherokee<> & ~Scout~RIP~.
