How We Met
I'm not his owner. YET!! But I can hardly wait. I met him through a riding program I do and fell in love with him, not because of his good looks but more because of his amazing attitude. He's over all an amazing horse and I love him a TON!

Happy Sunday!
It snowed (again) last night. I normally like the snow, but enough is enough. The old snow hasn't even melted away yet, so now there's just snow on top of snow. Oh well, I'll just make a thermos of hot chocolate and head to the barn to watch the horses romp in all the white stuff. Winter OR summer, it's fun to watch horses run and play! Here is your Fancy wintery vote ♥
Friday in N Carolina was 60% and lovely. Today was in the 40's and snowing! The snow melted when it hit the ground It was pretty, but can you imagine 60 one day and snowing the next.
Fancy had to find something to put her feet in last night. This time it was the feed bucket that is bolted to the wall. I remember when she was a yearling, I was on my way out, and I looked to check on her, she was standing with both front feet in the feet bucket that is bolted on the wall. My husband had a field day with that one! I thought I would never hear the end of that.
Fancy puts her feet in the water, and I have to put her grain in a deep bucket to keep her feet out. She has done this every since I have had her.
Does any one know why a horse would have such a strong inclination to put it's feet into every thing? Does any of your horses do this?
Poor little Trigger stands there and looks at Fancy like perhaps he finds her amusing.
Since Fancy is in the stall Trigger sure does poop all over the place. I think Fancy made him poop in certain areas. Now Sir Poops a Lot is free to poop where ever he wants.

Happy Saturday!
I just discovered that they put a riding helmet as one of the gifts you can redeem for Horse Channel points! I was going to buy a new one soon, because my current one is banged up, but now I won't have to because I've almost got enough points to redeem for it. I really want that helmet.

Here is your Friday vote :^)
Yesterday I cleaned Fancy's stall then took her into the back yard for a while. Fancy enjoyed what grass she could find while I cleaned her wound and applied meds. The wound looks healthy and clean. I hung her hay net high as I could because I know she puts her feet into EVERYTHING!
About an hour later it was time for after school pic-up. looked out to check on Fancy before leaving. Can you guess what I saw???? Fancy standing beside the gate with one foot high as my shoulder. Fancy looked at me like she was saying, "How about come help me out here"
I took nippers thinking I would have to cut it. I was able to unfasten it and lower it to the ground then lift her foot out. No more hay net for Miss Fancy Feet!

Happy Monday!
Thanks for your comments about Luna. I'm glad your a Harry Potter fan too...I LOVE Harry Potter. In fact I'm leaving on Friday to go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for a week. I can't wait!
I got the Deathly Hallows saddle pad from a woman on eBay. She will embroider any symbol you want on a pad. When I asked if she would do a Deathly Hallows symbol, she was excited, because it turns out she's a fan too! If you go to eBay, just look up "baby saddle pad" and the seller's user name is BobbyGees. She will make you one for about 18 dollars.
That Clydesdale commercial on the Superbowl was so heartwarming...it made me want to cry. How cute! It made me want to go give Luna a big hug.
We had 4 more inches of snow today (on top of the 3 we already had), so it will be a day of shoveling before I can ride. It's not too cold though, so at least that's a blessing. It's been only 7 or 8 degrees lately. Today it's 22 degrees-- practically a heat wave LOL!
I'm starting to make plans to go to the Midwest Horse Fair in April. They have all kinds of exhibits and demos and horsey things for sale. It's always a fun weekend.

I think Freckle's color is called Flea Bitten Gray. It's hard to tell in the pictures, but that's what I would say. You can google the color and learn more about it :)
I hope my back gets better too. I would love to be able to ride Thalia for real.

Thank you so much for HOTD, everyone! I've been busy finishing up with some exams this week, so I couldn't get on! What a nice surprise! Shorty is definitely getting some extra treats and lots and lots of loving! :)
UPDATES:
Tidy: Tidy, my 28-year-old retired QH mare, has a nice coat going on. It's about 2.5-3 inches long! It's so thick, and warm! :) She's got a lot of weight on, which is nice. She's had so much energy lately, so far this winter is going good for her!:)
Trooper: Trooper is doing really good. His hair continues to be very curly! He's so cute. (:
Shorty: Shorty is so grump in winter, it's not even funny. She runs around, doing sliding stops, then a beautiful rollback and starts again! LOL.
Might be purchasing a 3 year old colt. So excited! Going to see him today!

Thank the Heavens above we got rain finally after 10 weeks!!!!
My friend Gail came over yesterday afternoon and we rode for several hours. We had a wonderful ride. We got sprinkled on about 3 or 4 times but we knew that would happen before we even started. The bigger rain was not expected until after 5 pm so we knew it wouldn’t last long. Gail’s horse is pretty young (4) but they did great together! We WTC all over the fields and just had a blast. Deacon is my Cadillac! He is so smooth! So easy to ride…..

Looks like the rest of the week will be fast and furious! I was going to try and ride Friday but its calling for rain. We are so dry here so it will be welcomed! It has been over 2 months for our last tiny rain. The wind finally died down by the time we got home from work yesterday so the horses felt better! Sure was cold this morning. Thank you all sooo much for Scout's HOTD!!! I was so happy and surprised yesterday when I came on HC and saw him in the HOTD window. I thought that he might win HOTD sometime, but I had never guessed it would be so soon! Thanks again, it really made my day!
Yesterday Ethan and I took Dakota and Scout for their first ride together. They both did great, they don't seem to mind each other anymore. I still have to feed them separately though because Scout gets grass pellets and sweet feed and if I let them eat together Dakota will eat all of it and he doesn't need it. Scout just loves being around Dakota, he follows him everywhere! His previous owner said that she used to have a pony that was friends with Scout and that he would think he was in 7th heaven if he got to be around another pony and he does! They will still squeal at each other once in a while but it seems like they are getting to be friends.
Does anyone know what is wrong that the videos aren't showing up on the video page? I uploaded a video of Misty last week and it still wasn't there this week so I uploaded another of Dakota and Scout and that one hasn't showed either. Has anyone else been having this problem?

Hey guys I have some exciting news, I might be getting another horse! Yesterday afternoon my mom said she saw an ad in the paper for a free horse. I didnt think much about it because I thought if it is free than it must not be trained very well. Later I got a bit curious and asked my mom to call and ask about the horse. The horse is a 28yr old part Paint, part QH, part Thoroughbred-or at least thats what my mom said, I think that she may have gotten it mixed up. His owner said the reason she was giving him away was because she was moving into town and didn't have a place to keep a horse. We were planning to go take a look at him right away but his owner said that she was at work so we are going to wait until Monday. I cant wait I am sooo excited! I really hope this works out, his owner said that he is very well trained. I have my fingers crossed! Oh well, better get going, left a vote! good morning HC friends :)
i hope you all are having a good week so far! almost friday! and also almost the end of our HOTM run! i can't believe how fast this month has gone by. you all have been amazing with all the support you've shown for logan, cutter, and ziggy. i know i can't thank you all enough and i bet logan and cutter probably feel the same way :) keep on voting and I wish all HOTM runners good luck because they truely deserve it!They've worked so hard to get to this point so show your support for their hard work!! thank you!! here's a vote in return for everything you all have done! have a wonderful thursday :)

Barbara found many opportunities to be kind to others. She was a great support to me and Betsy when we ran for HOTM. I had the chance to speak with Barbara and few times on the phone. She was always concerned with her family's health and with the comfort of others. Barbara's love for her animals was shown through her involvement on HC, CC, and DC. Hi, heres a vote. I rode Dakota yesterday, he is such a good little guy, laid back and calm when little kids want to ride him but nice and spunky when I ride him-just the way I like it. I rode him over to my aunts place where Misty and Sierra are kept. He likes to hang out with Misty and Sierra, but I suspect that the real reason he is always so happy to go to there is the big bale of alfalfa that he always parks himself at. I did some work with Sierra, she is getting really good at backing, she now backs up nice and straight without me having to correct her.
If you get a chance, please go check out the HC Photography Club#247236. The HC Photography Club is a club that doesn't give your horse an official badge,but does let them be recognized,and the quality of the photo should not be judged,but the quality of the awesome horse. Please go check it out.

I finally had a day off Monday. Haven't been able to ride in a couple of weeks. I twisted my left foot a week ago last Friday. It's still sore and swollen. No complaints from Sadie, especially since she's been enjoying the bag of apples I bought for her. Thanks for all of the votes for Sadie. Hugs and a vote in return.
